But if you make the purchase with the card that the money was transferred to, wouldn’t that be the card that the refund went to? So confusing.
As an additional backup I keep a record of my DGCs with both card number and security code in Evernote [substitute however you maintain notes]. I note when I'm done with them and delete those after a year or two. This way if I get an unexpected refund to a "dead" card, I have all the info I need to input the card into the online system. I can transfer its balance to a physical card I possess and all is good.I throw out any GCs that the full balance has been transfer to my main GC.
