Has anyone used the Chase portal today? Trying to book a rental car and I get all the way through and I get Sorry can not complete at this time.

I have a question.... I read on another FB group that you should always call the hotel directly and double check your reservation if you book E*pedia..... b/c there's a chance you could have no res. when you arrive.... is this for real? Since UR portal is E*pedia, should I be calling the Uni hotel we're booked for? Argh.... (I need to get my entire extended fam to do this if that's true...)

Yes call just for peace of mind.... We had a terrible time with some rooms, that I booked though Expedia... Things like I upgraded to a King Bed with a high floor in NYC, and they tried to put us in a double room low floor, If we wanted the king room and a high floor, they said we had to pay at the desk for the upgrade that I already paid for...as our reservation was not showing this... That's why I always print the full description of the room, payment ... I asked for a manger, and he honored it... with apologies... Once Room class not available once... so again had to get a manger involved... Call to get it sorted out before...

I did. I recommend it highly, but just be aware there are some scenes that may not be for the squeamish. Also, I’m a lover of history and documentary type movies, not so much romantic or comedic movies, so factor that into my recommendation. I think the most telling thing about the movie is that after it ended, only one group of people got up and left immediately. The rest of us just sat there in silence as the credits rolled.
Okay cool I think we’ll go see it then! It’s supposed to rain all day so today is a good day to go. Dh and I aren’t squeamish so that’s not an issue. I can get into historical films if there’s some action. I don’t like the ones where it’s people standing around talking. We just watched Harriet the other day and I thought that one was good

I did see something about Bank of America Premium Rewards, but also posts that say they like you to have a banking relationship with them. I wonder if opening an account with them would give me an edge to immediately apply.
I am not aware that it makes a difference when applying. They do increase the reward percentage based on the amount of assets you have with them, including their affiliate Merrill Lynch, under the Preferred Rewards Program. At $20k in assets you get a 25% boost so with the Premium Rewards Card 2% on travel and dining becomes 2.5% and 1.5% on everything else becomes 1.875. The highest level is for $100k or more in assets and the boost is 75% which raises travel and dining to 3.5% and the rest to 2.625% which are very high for what are effectively cash rewards redeemable against the card balance for any charge.
I had an existing Merrill account so getting this card with the extra boost was a no-brainer for me, but AFAIK anyone can get the card whether you have any other relationship with them or not.

I always do this unless I book directly with hotel (in which case I can see my reservation online and verify all is well). I booked Universal using airline miles and called to confirm reservation, # in room and room type. Same thing with any bookings through Chase URs or a travel portal like Expedia. For international I normally just email due to time/language differences. That 5-10 min of effort is completely worth it. And this reminds me I need to start verifying our upcoming hotel stays in Europe as well as calling Disney Hilton head island to link the last night I booked through orbitz or Expedia so we don't have to change rooms.

Sitting in bed in Puerto Rico. Very warm here! The Caribe Hilton is great. Just got an email from DCL about coronavirus. Folks who have traveled through or to China now can’t cruise.

Lots of people were wearing masks at the airport today.

Been up since 3am - going to rest up. Big tour tomorrow!
Is the Caribe a family friendly resort that would be good for a 5 night stay? I had my eye on the one that was apparently taken out by the hurricanes a couple years ago. It still isn’t available and not sure if they plan to rebuild or not.

Hey @cajunmommy and other NOLA peeps, would love a little input.
Doing our final planning for our trip at the end of March. Have already extended a day because there is so much to see and do.
Planning on Audubon Zoo and Aquarium, swamp tour, and a historic riverboat tour (stops at battlefield, DSs request)
For food, on our list
Court of 2 Sisters (probably overpriced but we liked it before)
Brennan’s
Central Grocery
Café Du Monde
Acme oyster

Any can’t miss restaurants? Any place near the zoo for lunch? We ate at Camilla Grill a long time ago, it was good but not gotta do it again good. We won’t have a car. Mostly walking and trolley. TIA

Mother's is something of an institution and worth putting on your list.

I watched Harriet last night, and although I am a HUGE Cynthia Erivo fan (saw her four times on Broadway in The Color Purple and once in concert), I think 1917 is the better movie.

And although I don’t think it was shot in one shot, it was made to feel that way. In other words, there are really no scene cuts to other things going on in the film. You make a journey with the main characters and walk along with them. You see everything from their perspective, like walking through trenches, encountering other people, etc.

DH and I have a last minute trip to Chicago this weekend. Imagine my surprise to find out it's the end of restaurant week. I managed to snag one reservation on Saturday night at a decent place, but most places DH is interested in only have reservations available after 9 pm...too late for us. This will be interesting.

Anything by Stephanie Izard will be well worth it even at 9 pm. Little Goat Diner, Duck duck goat. Haven’t tried Cabra but her places are phenomenal

I have been wanting to see 1917 since I saw the first trailer months ago but since DD starting working weekend days, our movie going has been very cramped.

Do you just give them your name so they can look you up? I have two reservations for Spring Break I made through Chase URs. I guess I should call to confirm. Just wondering what I need to have with me to make it easy for them to look it up. Do I need the Chase confirmation number as well?

The last movie we saw was Spies in Disguise (I don't recommend). I love going to the movies. We're going to see 1917 today at 4:30 because that's the cheapest movie time. For some reason they don't have anything earlier than 4:30 pm today. I guess because it's been out for awhile.

I just provide them my full name (name reservation is under) and the dates of our reservation. I used to also list things like room category and ask them to confirm but I now don't provide that and instead ask them to list what category/view/bed they show. Prevents them for just glancing and saying oh yeah that's the room type we have you in.

Added a countdown to my signature. The post-its at work just weren't enough. I am so looking forward to Spring Break vacation!

Still in planning mode for the May trip but at least half of it will be easy. Never been to SLC or Park City so that is all new. Bryce/Zion I've been to, but will be new for DH.
Flying into SLC, doing a 1/2 day on arrival downtown Temple Square.
Antelope Island, Bonneville Salt Flats.
Park City
Driving School Experience
Drive to Bryce Canyon down HWY 12
Bryce Canyon. Drive to Springdale
Zion full day
Zion 3/4 day then drive to Las Vegas
Fly home.
