FYI, for those of you with a "legit" sole prop - it is possible to get approved (this doesn't surprise me):

P2 finally got approved for CIU after almost 3 weeks of recon. 4/24, ~750-760, first business card with Chase. They required every single paper you can think of from IRS, state and even county. SP with >5 years in business. Real business. No deposits with Chase. Every time P2 would fax something they would ask for something else, then the last call they stated they saw everything was faxed individually and they required all the documents together ... and today finally they “caved” in. Good lord these people ...
Edit: 4/24

Any idea if they used SS# or EIN? That seems like so much work. Not sure I want to share all that IRS stuff with them just for a biz card. I'm probably better off trying for another Alaska Biz card.

I went a little crazy in Target the other day (I went in for ONE thing) and ended up buying a bunch of stuff to redecorate the guest bath. Now the master bath looks terrible in comparison and I've been shopping for a new vanity, mirrored medicine cabinet, showerhead, etc. Anyone have any offers for Home Depot or Lowes on any of their cards? Bonus points if they're for Hilton, CSR, or CIP (where I have statement credits for all three to help offset some of the cost).

Edit: I'm checking now and DH has a Chuck E. Cheese offer on his Hilton biz. $5 back on $25 or more :rotfl2:

I have Lowe’s on my BBP but I think that’s the only card that has it

Not sure if this is still relevant. I got my KA from Kohls. But it was 20 years ago. Mine is still doing well.
Yeah, unfortunately in general KA has gone downhill since then. I still love mine, but they just aren't as durable as they used to be (I sound like my mom talking about washing machines). I use mine to make bread dough and even though I have the heavy duty one I know I'll burn the motor out before 10 years and might as well just replace it. Thankfully it seems to conveniently happen when they are on sale at Costco.

Yeah, I suspect that most household appliances are not as well-made today. I'm just a little worried that the KA appliances at Kohls are a little extra in terms of decreased quality.

I asked - he didn’t say and comment history doesn’t make it clear.

Also of note - he got a $3k CL on a CIU. That’s apparently the minimum for approval. Perhaps you don’t need $5k to PC but only $3k?? 🤔

My last name understandably causes issues for people in both spelling and pronunciation, but I am most amused when they assume the pronunciation and spelling are delinked, like Coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke, whose last name has no K sound in the beginning, and his initial 'krzyz" is expressed vocally as "shuhszh". And because of crazy examples like that, people sometimes twist themselves into pretzels trying to figure out my last name, which is actually quite simple and the spelling and pronunciation match exactly. The only real issue is whether the middle syllable rhymes with tow or cow. (It's cow in America but was probably tow back in Poland). But I'll never ding you and often won't even even correct you for getting that wrong. But if you think my name is pronounced "sha" something, or if you hear it and try to overcomplicate the spelling with a bunch of KZ combos, or 5 consecutive consonants, I will make it clear that unlike Coach K, my family knows how to spell. 😉 🤣
My sister's married name starts with Gza. Nobody who isn't Greek gets that right and even among cousins its spelled differently (apparently arrival to the US gave some Tz and some Gz)

I think DH has Lowes 10% on his Amex Biz Plat.

Good to know. I'll just try and apply when the AF hits, I think in July. I won't jump through their hoops, it's just not worth the hassle to me though I know it should be. And if it doesn't work then I'll try to PC, base case they increase the CL a little, worst case they say no and I ask them to move that $1k to the other and close it rinse repeat when that AF hits but don't want to close them both. Wanted to end up with 2 biz, why'd they have to go and make it all so hard. I know total first world problems.

Reminder if your AMEX has the happycard offer (15 back on 100 purchase), you could get the Father’s Day card which is good at Lowe’s. I got mine in the mail today, and to my surprise/happiness was able to use it at Lowe’s online.

My boss often doubles the "r" in my name and I've never seen my name spelled like that. But then again I'm typically just happy when she calls me the right name because she tends to get everyone's name wrong all the time (and I've been there nine years). This reminds me of her: View attachment 493115
I had a boss like that. She confused me with a coworker. Constantly. I am 5'2" with short brown hair. Coworker Karen is 5'9", long blond hair and at least 15 years younger. 🤦‍♀️
Same boss one year wished us all "Happy Dietitican Day"
Did anyone else who already has a SW CP get an email today congratulating them on earning a CP? I am assuming it has something to do with their extending to June 2021 but not sure. Weird
Yep.

Peep.
Good to see you're still alive and peeping.

Anyone had any luck having 5x points on chase cards with grocery delivery services? Which ones? Sad to see Instacart post as 1x.

Does anyone know what the lowest CL you can have on the IHG cards are? DH and I both have the old Club card that's no longer offered, and the Premier. Seems like a lot of CL across these 4 cards, but we keep them for the FNC.
I have my original IHG at a $1000 credit level...it has been that way over a year.

May I ask why you regretted closing the Arrival +. I'm trying to decide what to do with mine and DH's

I like both of us having it for the fact that it is the solid 2% on everything and it is a Mastercard. Erasing of charges for travel is incredibly easy. I think it is important to have all your points not in one bank. I also think since I cared enough to burn a 5/24 spot on it and you can no longer get it then it is worth keeping. You can use your points to erase the charge of the AF if that is an issue.

What card did you regret cancelling. My only regret so far is the Arrival+

I kept both my and dh's Arrival+ open this year when the AF posted because I was afraid I'd regret cancelling. I will probably cancel mine next year and keep dh's open. We really only need one and dh uses his when he is clueless what other card to use. Best to keep it open!

I regret closing dh's old IHG. We were not really churners yet. We opened it back in 2014 and closed it when the measly AF hit. Didn't know any better and so, so dumb. Oh well, live and learn...I regret closing my CSP. I had like 4 people either IRL or here on the board ask me for my support link in the first 6 mos after I closed it. Again, live and learn...

It was a great card to diversify the points and miles portfolio. It has a true chip and pin that can be used at kiosks and unmanned places overseas. I especially liked that it also allowed you to earn a ton of extra points for posting travel stories in the Barclay Card Travel community. It was feasible to earn up $200 a month that way. It was basically free travel money. If Barclay brings the card back in some fashion and it still has the same benefits, I will pick it up and keep it if I'm under 5/24.

Qantas started the band aid rip that I needed to proceed. They officially canceled our flight to SYD. Luckily, I could cancel everything online else it would have been much harder. I now sadly have 476k Qantas points, 240k United points, 300k Bonvoy points and 120k Hyatt points. Hopefully the Qantas points don’t expire since I have no idea what to do with them for now. Pretty sure going to Sandestin will not be a replacement for AUS...
