It was a great card to diversify the points and miles portfolio. It has a true chip and pin that can be used at kiosks and unmanned places overseas. I especially liked that it also allowed you to earn a ton of extra points for posting travel stories in the Barclay Card Travel community. It was feasible to earn up $200 a month that way. It was basically free travel money. If Barclay brings the card back in some fashion and it still has the same benefits, I will pick it up and keep it if I'm under 5/24.
DH and I have kept ours open and I have no plans to close them.

Awww now I'm wishing we kept Dh's old arrival+ card.... too late now. Here's a thought...just about every cc I have is offering bonus grocery points for the next couple of months.... how are you all deciding which is the best offer? In the "old" days I'd have immediately gone for extra UR.... but now? Just unsure....b/c of everything cancelled, I have more UR than I've ever had, same with Hilton, it's not that I can't think of using more points, it's wondering which is best to max right now.
if Hilton is 12x points,as is Bonvoy, and UR is 5x which is best? My only Bonvoy plans have stayed the same, I have enough for a 2-3 onsite nights at WDW (S/D) and if I got enough for 4 then it'd 5 nights (planned to use next year sometime)
my brain is def. not in gear here. Perhaps I should just stick with the extra UR for the flexibility reasons.

Rothy’s for the win for great customer service! I had shipped back my Rothy’s flats to exchange for a larger size but 2 weeks later, they still were not showing up in the Return tracker so I contacted Rothy’s. They are shipping me the larger size while they still wait on the shoes.

So different than the horrible Dell customer service I have received. DS’s Christmas Switch from Dell is still awaiting a replacement 5 months later. Thank goodness I scored one from BB in the meantime.

I have using it for the Hilton points since that spend also goes towards a free night.

This reminds me that I need to get back to figuring out something to buy with my Kohls gift cards.

One thing I've been thinking of is a Kitchenaid stand mixer as a Christmas gift for one of my kids. Does anyone here have a Kitchenaid from Kohls? Can you comment on its quality? I'm a bit suspicious of name-brand items at Kohls since their Nike stuff appears to be not the same as sold in other stores. (Tagging @amalone1013 because I think she might have been thinking about one of these mixers at some point.)
Hey! We got one from Kohls because it turned out the be the best deal after coupons and kohls cash and such. Its been great, no quality issues so far. I think we got it around Christmas 2018. I even ordered it online and shipped it to try a shopping portal, tho I think that didnt work as KA is often excluded

I went a little crazy in Target the other day (I went in for ONE thing) and ended up buying a bunch of stuff to redecorate the guest bath. Now the master bath looks terrible in comparison and I've been shopping for a new vanity, mirrored medicine cabinet, showerhead, etc. Anyone have any offers for Home Depot or Lowes on any of their cards? Bonus points if they're for Hilton, CSR, or CIP (where I have statement credits for all three to help offset some of the cost).

Edit: I'm checking now and DH has a Chuck E. Cheese offer on his Hilton biz. $5 back on $25 or more :rotfl2:

Don't we all go into Target to get just one thing! If you have any Amex Biz cards, check for the 10% off at Lowes. We have it on the BBP and Marriott.

I had a boss like that. She confused me with a coworker. Constantly. I am 5'2" with short brown hair. Coworker Karen is 5'9", long blond hair and at least 15 years younger. 🤦‍♀️
We could be twins ... I am also 5'2" with short brown hair. I have a double Southern name for my first name and I am constantly being called some other double name. Many years ago I worked with a guy for 2 years that called me Sara Lee (since he liked their snack cakes) and that's not my name!

I have the Lowes 10% back on my Amex Bonvoy biz card. DH has it on one of his too but I forget which one.

I’m going to use my CSR for groceries for a while because I have a large credit on it from my Airbnb refund. That will be a nice way to get back the UR they took back on the refund.

My name is always misspelled by people. It’s a simple common name but mine has an extra e in it that isn’t normally there. I just always expect it to the point where I’m pleasantly surprised when people get it right.

FYI, for those of you with a "legit" sole prop - it is possible to get approved (this doesn't surprise me):

P2 finally got approved for CIU after almost 3 weeks of recon. 4/24, ~750-760, first business card with Chase. They required every single paper you can think of from IRS, state and even county. SP with >5 years in business. Real business. No deposits with Chase. Every time P2 would fax something they would ask for something else, then the last call they stated they saw everything was faxed individually and they required all the documents together ... and today finally they “caved” in. Good lord these people ...
Edit: 4/24

That seems like a lot of work for a card. I'm kind of busy earning money for my business right now, lots of late nights. I think I'll just lay low on Chase biz for now.

I get 10% back at Lowe's often on my Bonvoy Biz Amex.

I’m trying to locate an official document that restricts travel into the Schengen area from outside countries. This should enable me to get a full refund on my Paris Airbnb that’s scheduled for early June. I read in a news report that unnecessary travel will be restricted at least through June 15, but I can’t find an official source on this. Not sure if anyone here is familiar with this sort of thing, but thought I’d ask just in case.

What card did you regret cancelling. My only regret so far is the Arrival+
I regret getting rid of my Old Blue Cash Amex. It got 1% on the first $6K spend annually in gas, groceries, and drugstores and .5% everywhere else. After passing the $6K threshold, it got 5% in gas, groceries and drugstores and 1% everywhere else. But I didn't know about MS back then so I didn't use it to its fullest potential.

Have you enrolled in the US state dept. STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) program? I would imagine that they would post and email anything official there once you enroll your trip.

I called Universal Orlando and booked our Thanksgiving trip. I booked Royal Pacific for 3 nights, but once we get closer to travel date I'll probably change it to 2 night. We only plan on 3 park days so we only need 2 nights to get 3 days of express pass.

Has anyone called the chase cruise line to book UO hotel using a discount rate?

I never did this since I knew my trip would be canceled well beforehand. I have everything pretty much canceled already, just this one Airbnb left, and they require screenshots of an official document to get your money back. Would the STEP program send me info that isn’t already available online?

I bet you could find something at the US Dept of State:

Today's Daily Discussion Thread on r/churning currently has 5 top level comments. 2 of them were deleted... 1 is the CIU support thread (which has been downvoted substantially... 1 is a weeks old DP... BUT there is one Gem in there:

Regarding Chase 5x for groceries during May and June:
Walmart was reportedly now included as grocery with the announcement for CSR and CSP. (I still haven't gotten the email).
Walmart did count on transactions on CSR that just posted. (Walmart Supercenter)
Walmart did NOT track 5x on transactions posted yesterday on CF (at the same supercenter). So this appears to be a temporary change to category for Walmart just for CSR/CSP (and I suppose the co-branded cards mentioned as well).
Edit: clarify walmart supercenter

The travel restrictions that the US State Department is listing is an advisory, and Airbnb says advisories won’t count as an extenuating circumstance. What I need is a document from France or the Schengen area saying that travelers are not permitted to enter the country unless it’s necessary business. That’s how I was able to get a refund for my London Airbnb. It was an official UK document that I screenshot and sent in with my refund request. I believe that one was a stay at home order, so the same would work for Paris/France, but I believe they are starting to loosen those restrictions now, so I think my best bet would be for the travel ban document.

Just wanted to say how nice it is to read about someone making travel plans rather than canceling them. :thumbsup2

For my part, have booked some flights to Puerto Rico for mid July - I am fully prepared to cancel depending on the prevailing advice and the familys comfort level with the trip - but man, I NEED some travel plans to look forward to.
