Got an email from my favorite liquor store last night that they are expanding their delivery radius and although they aren't closed yet, they are monitoring things and asking people not to come in if delivery is an option. Things are getting real y'all. The restaurants and bars are closed as well, but still open for delivery.

So we ordered fried chicken and booze, drank a little too much, went to bed, and rolled out of bed this morning and fixed strong coffee before logging on for work. 10/10, will repeat again tonight.

My dh’s parents are late risers as well. There’s no way they’d be at the grocery store until 11am at the earliest.

Since N1 - my grandchildren are N1 and N2 since both their names start with N's and are longish, and this is easier to use in texts, anyway, she had climbed in my bed last night. She is a light sleeper so I had to try to stay in bed longer this morning even though I awoke at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.

Quietly got up and did stuff with little light hoping to keep her asleep. But the noise from the coffee awoke her. I am sleeping in the master so kids could be with parents in the two queens - their choice, but first night N2 and last night N1 showed up. N2 easily sleeps and doesn't awaken as easily. This one is a very light sleeper. She also manages to take over the king size bed!

Anyway, we are now having coffee, biscotti, brie, manchego and grapes. Later it will be regular breakfast once the other 3 arise, usually a bit after 8. No one here sleeps really late, even on vacation. The sun is coming up, and I had planned to ride to the beach, but the car seats are in the other car and I didn't want to wake daughter to watch the now wide awake N1. So, I will make sure any midnite visitors go back to their own rooms tonite!

Well DH starts work from home indefinitely today. He commandeered my office, busted down my desktop Mac and put up his massive multi monitor setup. :rolleyes2

I will go off to work as normal for another day of chaos. I am not sure what can be canceled and/or happen next. Ohio governor likes to announce one big thing a day to not overwhelm everyone. So the daycare closures has to be coming today or tomorrow I'd assume. That will kill our staffing. We are an essential healthcare function with regs on staffing.

People are not sleeping so well, I see on here and elsewhere. My boss sent me a LinkedIn message at 3 a.m.

I wonder if my husband will even get dressed today?

My town closed all parks and playgrounds. I can understand play structures, like slides and swings, but parks? I went to the track yesterday to walk, and had been planning to continue, but now I guess I’ll have to go to the next town over, as long as they stay open.

Oh, and my daughter and one other guy were the only ones there yesterday, so plenty of social distancing. I feel for the parents who live in apartmentments with little kids. Those kids need some fresh air and recreation.

Hi. Hope everyone is safe and healthy. I will need to cancel a round-trip domestic Jetblue flight for Easter weekend. What is Jetblue doing about refunds on flights booked with points? Will I get the points back or a travel credit? Should I just cancel online or should I call? I would obviously rather do this online. DS will have to stay put for Easter.

Mine (which also happens to be my employer) just closed our municipal buildings (to include Town Council meetings) and the police substation (main station lobby will remain open for the public).

I cancelled online - received the points back and a travel credit for the $11.20 in taxes/fees.

Back when I had a job, our CEO had to put out an order for no work emails after the end of the regular workday or on weekends because it had gotten so bad. At least he tried but some managers ignored this and continued to fire off work directives from home after hours. So annoying! Most of it was nonessential jabbering in my opinion.

Some people on hourly rates would try the work from home thing even if not authorized to try to get paid. My response was 'you have a key to the office and can use it if necessary to do work that I've asked you to do that takes hours outside of the regular work day'. Funny - these same people could have easily come in early - I would have approved that if necessary for extra pay when needed- but really wanted to work unsupervised.

In our present situation I would be 'stay home and work and get paid'.

This was my question. I have 1-6 and want to watch with my kids but don’t know if to start with 1 or 4
Personal preference..If they've never seen before, I'd start with 4 and continue through the order of release.
I'm kind of strange but when we first had the kids watch them, we only let them watch 1 per year. Every July we'd all dress up and watch 1. We made them promise to not watch at their friends' houses, etc.

I agree, I love Ewan McGregor. Also, the Duel of the Fates in Episode 1 is pretty top notch as far as fight choreography and music.

There's supposed to be one of the symphony movie concerts here next month for Empire Strikes Back. I was planning to buy tickets and was really looking forward to it, but wonder if it will be postponed.
Yes, the music during that fight always gets me. Awesome!

Yeah, our town had already done that, which makes sense.

I was just reading about a town in Oregon where people were calling 911 asking for toilet paper! I’m sure you have stories about ridiculous callers, but have any knuckleheads called you for tp yet?

Is the Chase site acting weird for anyone else? I got logged in easily but all sorts of messages about "your activity may not be up to date but you can still make payments" and my UR portal (if that's the right word) is grayed out.

Works fine for me.

If I book a room on HH points, and the hotel has a resort fee, is that always just paid in cash (well... with my Hilton Amex)?

Hilton waives the resort fee on bookings with Hilton points.

Not yet. However, we did get two calls this shift: One for a family fight in which one family member sneezed and there was a freakout because someone else thought it was coronavirus, and one where the caller wanted to report a gathering of 10 people because she felt it was irresponsible.

Calls like this are just the tip of the iceberg, I am sure.

I've been offered the American Express Blue Cash upgrade offer. I have until next week to pull the trigger on it - upgrading my wife's BCE to a BCP. The bonus is $150 cashback for spending $1k (but we'll have to pay the $95 AF). We could hit the whole MSR in the 6% grocery category so I'm thinking about doing it for an all-in return > 10%. I passed on this back in the fall because it hadn't been a year since I did it before. I think the time is right to do it this time.
I'm doing this offer right now, for the second time. I was pleasantly surprised to get it again just a few months after downgrading. :-)

Had to do regular grocery shopping; Tuesdays are my day. So I went to Super Walmart in my town this morning. BAD IDEA. Absolutely nothing on the shelves. No meats, no toilet paper, no produce, no milk, no eggs, no canned goods. This was at 7am.
Left and went to Aldi for their 8am open. Now they have a sign on the door that they are opening at 9 to give them time to restock. Crap, I work at 9 and can't wait.
Off to Neighborhood Walmart. Produce area looks better, so got a bunch there, found one of the last milks!, and got 2 loaves of bread. But again, no tp, no meat, no frozen meats, nothing.
I'll be going out again tomorrow to check Aldi when they open, since I have Wed mornings off. To make matters worse, my hubby texted me this morning that we should've gotten a gun... -_-
Scary times.
