I remember that several people on this board booked Delta Vacation packages with Disney tickets and also bought the Delta Vacations insurance, then cancelled the package to get a Delta Vacations voucher. When you cancelled, what happened to your Disney tickets? I seem to remember that some people had their Disney tickets disappear from MDE after cancelling - were you able to get them back? Did anybody cancel one of these packages, get a voucher (for package price minus Disney tickets), and have your Disney tickets remain in MDE?

I booked one of these packages for a trip to WDW this June. It was a bit complex, and involved us flying into MCO and out of Hilton Head a couple weeks later. The plan is to visit WDW, then drive from Orlando to Hilton Head, where my parents are going to watch my DDs while DH and I fly to Seattle for a separate trip (the Seattle trip is separately booked on AA). DH and I then fly back to Hilton Head, and all 4 of us fly home on Delta Vacations flights.

My parents are both very high-risk due to age and underlying medical conditions, so I'm thinking there is a possibility where I won't be comfortable with the Hilton Head/Seattle portion of my trip, even if this has mostly died down by then. No immediate plans to cancel anything, but I am starting to muse over options if I do want to cancel down the road.
I booked and tried to cancel but keep tickets. Delta said the whole package, tickets included would be cancelled, so I kept the cheap flight/hotel in order to keep the tickets. They are still in my MDE (fall trip planned) even though I "missed" my flight and "wasn't able" to check into the hotel.

don’t think they can adjust....I just cancel and rebook
 Oh mannnnnn this is a tough call then. Since we have 4 rooms booked thru 4 different UR accts (family) I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the 2000+ points difference to have them all try to cancel/rebook..... it's = to about $30 I think.... I'm concerned with 4 rooms, if I have them cancel, the new rates might not show up to rebook asap.....

It took four days but I have finally managed to cancel all of my parents’ pre-booked activities for their spring trip to visit us. They were able to do some on their own, but others were “impossible” to be cancelled before I called them & then magically, it was fine :jester: To that end, if anyone from our group here was planning a trip to Japan & now needs to cancel, and you are having a hard time, feel free to PM me & I will help you if I can. (Don’t PM me out of the woodwork if you have like a single post on the Restaurants board or found this on Google. I’m not running a travel agency )

For 4 rooms I probably wouldn’t take a chance

Well, I have 3 cruises booked in the next year. 1st one is in June to Alaska on the Grand Princess, which is the ship that just returned to California. We have until Mid - April to make a decision and I always buy Cancel for Any Reason Insurance on cruises so kind of waiting it out and see how things shake down.

Next 2 cruises are in December and next March so hopefully everything is back to normal by then.

While I agree that some of the measures taken in Taiwan and Vietnam might not work here some would have. The media campaign and PSAs regarding hand washing including a catchy song that inspired a dance challenge and Tik Tok videos was a huge factor in Vietnam and Taiwan. Consistent messaging on protocols and information to the public is a huge factor. The amount of contradictions with regards to information and protocols here is staggering. I was shocked to read the reports of those under self quarantine in New York. Germany’s success in reducing the death rate can also be attributed to early detection with those who have symptoms getting tested and receiving supportive care. I still am seeing sick people go to work nearly everyday in my classes.
I had a doctor appointment today just as a two week checkup. My doctor coughed a few times and I got nervous. I know a simple cough shouldn’t bother me but at this point I think I’d stay home if I showed any symptom

We've been wanting to plan a trip to Universal Studios Orlando for next year fall break (Nov 2021), but I'm REALLY itching to go and think I'm going to try to pull it off for this year. I noticed that right now in the UR Portal, they have USO tickets on sale, buy 2 days, get 2 days free. Have you guys noticed if this is a common promo that I might see again before fall?
It's definitely not uncommon, it will be offered again, but hard to say when/how often.

Thanks! My trip is roughly $2500 of flight/hotel, and $1500 of tickets. Which is kind of an unfortunate breakdown in the current situation. For now, I've booked a fully cancellable trip to Orlando only for the week before my Delta Vacations trip just in case (I love SW points so much right now!). There is a decent chance that we'll decide to go to WDW in June if this has died down some, but won't want to go on to Hilton Head and leave my kids with my at-risk parents for a week immediately after while DH and I fly to the opposite side of the country.

I figure if we want to keep the WDW portion only, I'll call Delta Vacations and see what my options are. If they're bad options, we'll go the week before and use the tickets, then keep the $2500 travel package for a future trip. If we decide not to go on any portion of the trip, then I'll just cancel everything and will get what I get for the tickets, I suppose. It's really irritating that I bought insurance, asked tons of questions and read the documentation, and at no point was it stated that the tickets would be rescinded (but not refunded) if I cancel. But these DPs are really helpful!

I have an upcoming hotel stay that I had to book for cash because it's a stay-to-play travel tournament. The day I check out is also the last day of my CSR statement period that contains my anniversary date. Therefore, I won't be able to use the travel credit because it won't become available until one day later :(

In some cases you get a voucher to rebook within a year of cancellation. Can't hurt to call and ask. Good luck! We are debating our WDW next week. We have some sunk costs (Cirque tickets) that would be lost if we couldn't go.

Sure, trying to seriously price flights on Delta now that dd got the ok to take days off, and it appears they are down. Can't price on the app or their website.

I am trying to cancel/rebook/whole thing with Delta and their system keeps crashing. The DV rep said that people are on hold for over four hours. So I would just wait until early or late. (I was checking early this morning and it was fine...that is when I discovered our upcoming flights have gone down over $200 each...which times 5 is a lot).

It just came back up for me

ETA oops, as soon I posted that, it went back out on me after I selected my flights.

Right? I am just going to have to force myself to work and ignore it for now. It works and then crashes. I think they are just so overwhelmed.
As long as my prices don't skyrocket anymore when they are functioning again, all good :-)
