Dd's school is in Broward County and she has severe asthma. I am trying to stay rational, but just thinking about all the hospitalizations when she was a baby and young child sends shivers down my spine. We have it under control now, and the stats seem to indicate those with asthma would come out of the virus okay, but I don't want her exposed. For now it's just wait and pray that it doesn't get much worse in Broward. Thankfully they have been able to isolate at least 3 of the cases to the Port and hopefully contained it.
Well, the majority of our deaths are related to a nursing home in WA. Not sure there's enough data to conclude that Germany's response was better than ours considering they have 10x the number of cases we do per capita. But I totally agree we could/should have done more. Unfortunately a lot of the measures taken in Asia would not fly in our society.I live in Broward and have been to the Port 4 times in the last week or so to teach classes. I also have asthma. I am hoping things stay under control. Can't say I would have minded being quaratined in the MaldivesI'm glad I don't have any international travel booked for the near future. I think it is very possible that the trip to NYC in April with my niece might get cancelled depending on how things play out. It's a shame our country didn't respond as quickly and efficiently the way Taiwan, Vietnam and Germany did. Germany has had 3 times as many cases as the US and only 2 deaths. Taiwan has the least amount of cases per capita.
Chase and their emails! Like, there is talk of the Olympics possibly being canceled, so please let's do this as an incentive!

I didn't even notice the lack of the word "summer"!!!Interesting they’re not calling it the Summer Olympic Games with talk that the IOC and Japan may have to postpone the event.
Except they are all out. Was at Target last Wednesday and all sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer gone.
Everclear.
My sister found some at a dollar store. Probably gone by now.
Fill a travel bottle with soap for your purse. If there’s water, soap is better anyway.
The NYC Half Marathon was cancelled for this upcoming weekend. Kind of a bummer, but also understandable. Kind of hard to do social distancing when over 25k people are running down the street with you. I think I’m still going to go to NYC for the weekend though.News out that the governor joined by the 3 biggest cities mayor's and county exec's from 3 counties will announce tomorrow no gatherings over 250. Guess my 10k will be cancelled this weekend which is bummer since it's the county to the south of me but I understand the reasoning. Nothing new about schools but I imagine it'll change how cafeteria lunches and stuff are if not more than that. I'll just run it at the gym, supposed to have a low of 28 so I wasn't looking forward to running outside anyway.
Just hoping it all helps since it's a bit of a catch up in some aspects at this point but not as bad as Italy, poor country/people.
That is pretty much what I said today, I should just carry my own soap with me. I found one at Sprouts today so I feel fine with my 3.5 little bottles and my daughter has a few she can dig up in her bedroom if needed.

They called it late afternoon yesterday. I would venture to guess if the cherry blossom 10-miler is cancelled, they won’t call it until a few days before. I’ll cross my fingers for you. If the timing is right on that race, it is absolutely beautiful! Even if it isn’t peak bloom, still one of my favorite courses.Woah I missed this one. I'm signed up for the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler on April 5 for the first time ever and I feel like that is also possibly in danger.

They have traced 3 of the confirmed cases to Port Everglades, specifically the company / area that Princess uses. Between those employees being off work, a lot of their co-workers are in self isolation, thus the shortage of workers.A lot of cruises are still sailing without problems, and I'd still sail, but I wonder what the lack of workers at the port is about. That's a whole new problem.
