I would reserve your order and app for the CSP for the 80k and then the CSR since the bonus is lower.
In the event that your MDD is unsuccessful you are grabbing the lower bonus first (50k CSR vs 95k all-in on CSP). I’d consider doing them in the opposite order - CSP then CSR - but there are pros and cons on both sides of this argument. The biggest one being that CSR requires the higher CL. BUT FWIW: if it were me I’d do CSP first.

Also - I assume you meant 2019 on that Plat.

Ha - yes, i'll edit the Plat to say 2019.

And thank you both... I agree the CSP should probably be first. Worst case scenario either I or P2 could upgrade to the CSR, right? We've been capitalizing on the PYB and I'll want to use a CSR to maximize that. The CL shouldn't be an issue, though I may need to lower CLs on current cards.

I would only go for the CSP first if you want that card more than the CSR. Whomever apps for the CSP will have to wait a year to PC to a CSR. If neither of you have a UR personal card that you'll have had for a year by the time you want to use the CSR so you can PC it, I would go for it first. I understand the higher bonus but the card you want more should also be considered if applying for it is your only avenue to it by the time you would need/want it.

Yep - a backup plan of PCing one of the cards you already have open to a CSR (if the MDD fails) would be my strategy.

I assume you’re under 5/24, right? You only have the 12mo history so figured I’d point that out.

But she already has a CFU and will be obtaining a second one via the PC. So in a worst case scenario (failed MDD) there would be no need to wait to PC to a CSR.

EDIT: and since there’s also a P2 support link being used I’d assume there’s P2 card(s) that could be PCed to a CSR as well. Lots of options there.

Hm. Okay good to know, I didn't know about the rule to wait a year before upgrading from CSP to CSR. P2 got the CSP this past July, so the earliest either of us could upgrade would be July 2021, missing the PYB benefits set to expire in April 2021. But the extra 45,000 points makes up for that... so I think i'll risk having to wait until July 2021 to get the CSR back in our wallets.

Okay great, thanks. and yes, i'm currently at 4/24, so the MDD helps out with that too

Oh, yes. I didn't realize you could upgrade to the CSR from the Freedom and/or Freedom Unlimited. P2 has the Freedom and Freedom Flex, and I have the Freedom Unlimited (soon to be 2, as you pointed out), so yes, we do have multiple options to upgrade, as the Freedom and current Freedom Unlimited have each been held for multiple years.

But didn't you just say you have an existing CFU? When was that opened? It would be very easy to upgrade that to a CSR (even if you have to move a little CL to get it done) if the MDD doesn't work.

And honestly, after downgrading your current CSR to a CFU... you could probably call back in a month and upgrade it again. I actually PC my older cards all the time, sometimes multiple times within in the same year and I never had any issues.

So I think you have more options here than you realize :)

EDIT: Just saw your most recent response - good stuff!

I've never tried it before but with such a low CL on the latest CIC and my desire to go for the $7500 spend in 3 months, I'm wondering whether I should pay down my balance earlier than the due date. My first payment isn't going to be due until the 10th-ish of December but I've already spent close to $1k and I figure I'll be doing some spending in WDW later this week and next weekend.

Will Chase frown on my sending a payment now?

CC do not like you cycling your credit. (Meaning paying it off and reusing it before the statement closes.) Do you have any other biz cards that you could move the CL from? If you have a CIP with $5k, you could move $3k to CIC to give you more CL to use.

Hmmm I could but then I could not PC that CIP to something else later, right? They have to have $5K minimum to PC?

It's not a huge deal...I'll just keep an eye on my balance next week (I do have several hundred dollars worth of gift cards that we are also taking to use)... so if I approach the CL I'll just switch to another card.

Thank you!

I make payments on my Chase cards weekly...but never spend more than the credit limit in one billing cycle

You can always move the credit back to the CIP to PC it. All it takes is a SM. Super easy. I just say I want to move $3000 for acct ending in 1223 to acct ending in 2334. That’s what I did with DH’s CIU to make it easier.

So, my 80K UR's plus the 4K plus spend are pending for Wednesday! Yummy UR's! From application date to deposit of rewards = 16 days. That's simply amazing!

But But But.......I go to check my Chase offers which were still there yesterday and which had an added offer for 10% off at Lowes on my brand new CSP up to $19 (190$) changed from the usual 13$ I've been getting and can not find them. I even checked the Chase App on my old phone.

Someone else had this problem and had a link? I should have paid attention.

Any help out there? Was getting ready to redeem all of them for dues discounts.

Edit - would not think program discontinued as I just rec'd the sapphire offer with a 47 day use period yesterday.

Well, the new CIU is in my account this morning. Their approval system is just crazy, I used the exact same information for DH's application which was denied in less than 24 hours. He does have 3 Chase Biz cards so maybe that's the difference? I guess it's time to close his SW Biz card.

We do have plenty of MSRs to keep us busy.
Amex Bonbob Biz - $1600 remaining
Barclay Aviator spending bonus - $2,000 remaining
New CIU - $3,000 - glad I was able to find a $3K link and have until 2/16 to meet it.

My SIL has decided we should wait to come to AZ to visit until the summer so we are heading to Bonita Springs and Tampa for a few days to celebrate the new year. @Killer Fish has been club at the Grand Hyatt TB reopened?

It has not...If I am being honest it will probably be a long time for most clubs to return.

Shoot me a pm though if you want a great rate here :)

My Chase offers have been missing on the webpage and app for a while. I found I could access them from a link in an old email promoting offers. Yesterday that didn't work, but it could be that my link was too old. Accessing them through the link, I had offers so it's very annoying that their visibility has disappeared.

I just looked and our Home Depot offer that was 10% up to $40 is now $25.
