No credit card news but our neighbor was getting rid of a huge patio couch with cushions. They were just gonna put it on their curb for pickup and we ended up taking it for free with a matching table! It’s one of those vinyl wicker type sets. Now we can get rid of our crappy ones. We’ll put them on the curb and see if anyone takes them

Oh and I thought I’d share this picture. We can’t go to Disney but he can still wear the outfit we had picked out to take him after his 2 month vaccines!

I have finally snapped after 3.5 months of quarantine. I chopped off all my hair, with DH's help - about 10 inches, I think. It looks better than I expected and it's the most fun I've had on a Saturday night in months!

I wouldn't pc it down yet, though I think some used to go back and forth more frequently than a year but with how things are changing I don't know that I'd do that. If you still have a support link for the CSP it should still work. Mine still does though I think I'm still waiting for the last support to post.

The other option would be have him apply for the CSR then he'd get another $300 in credit. Especially if he's doing most of the grocery shopping, I think that you can redeem URs for them past the end of this month. But I think the extra points for grocery shopping finish on the 30th right? I should really pay more attention but I've been working on an msr so I haven't been using it as much but have made a few grocery purchases on my csr and cf for the extra points. I just know my hilton is through the end of July so I'll finish the last $250 of it at safeway for the 12x points.

I know the CIP support is basically dead and that I shouldn't count on those ever appearing, but have the CSP support started taking longer than it used to? Probably more of an @Albort or @SouthFayetteFan once he's back home question. I haven't seen anything on r/churning about them but I also haven't been looking.

I don't have a working CSP link because it was most recently a CF before I PCed. I think I will have to analyze weather a CSP or a CSR would make more sense. I just removed him as an AU on my CSR when the AF hit so he has his own working card that he's been using for gas to max out the travel credit.

Requested and received a refund for the MLB.TV package. Most of the Brewers games will be blacked out on MLB.TV for me since they will be playing all NL/AL Central.
Not that that is a loss. Said as a guy who lives an hour north of Milwaukee and was a Twins season ticket holder.

Would it be possible to get a Fox Sports Plus subscription if you really want to watch the Brewers? I feel like I looked into it when I moved to WI to be able to watch the Twins and Wild.

I understand the blackout policy when the games are available in your area but some folks just get screwed by living right between lots of markets.

On Wednesday I applied for the Cdn AmEx biz gold (40,000 MRs with referral link after $5,000.00 in spend with $250.00 AF -- not great but it's the better than the paltry 25,000 MRs on the personal platinum). I got the message "we are unable to give you an instant decision at this time". Apparently my application will be processed within 10 days. There was a number to call with a case number; I'm thinking of calling tomorrow and seeing if I can move the application along (this would be just my third AmEx in Canada: I have the Marriott AmEx and personal gold; in addition in the last year I have applied for and received the CIBC Aerogold Visa, the TD Aeroplan Visa and the WestJet MC). There isn't much on the Cdn reddit churning community about the biz gold so I'm not sure if this is normal. The waiting is killing me!

What I like about the biz gold is you can assign 3 merchants for double MRs and Plastique is one of them. I can pay dd's tuition and property taxes on the card and get double MRs. I find that very appealing.

:) I'm doing the opposite. I have had bangs for 35 years, decided to grow them out since I have nowhere to go for months and don't care how I look with bobby-pinned bangs for now.

So cute!!!

I don't have 10 inches to cut but at least 4. And I have debated on doing a chop job myself. Younger DD asked me to cut hers which was almost mid back length now so I said I would but she hasn't sat for it yet. Hers is easier to cut as it's curly and the ends spring up to hide mistakes, plus she will tie it up anyway. Just less hair is easier to wash and dry. Our area is open for all normal stuff as of Monday but I'm not that anxious to go yet.

I had 6" cut off my hair a few weeks ago. Working out outside with so much hair was just too much. I like it shorter, but hardly anyone notices I got it cut because it's still long!

I grew mine out a few years ago; totally worth the frustrating period of growth. It's so much easier to handle now, although at times I do wish I had them and have toyed with the idea of getting 'whisps', but always manage to talk myself out of it.

Yesterday afternoon we ordered take out/pick up/pay at restaurant from Cheesecake Factory in Annapolis. It's our closest one.

DD ordered online as instructed per the free slice certs we were redeeming from before Xmas that were due to expire n June 30th. We had 3 remaining.

We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees plus a drink for daughter and the cheesecake slices.

I opened the order. Cheesecake perfect. Apps - ok, kind of messy but daughter may have tipped the package. DD's entree - perfect. My entree - NOT my entree - I ordered steak diane and chicken madiera. I got some dry plain chicken and a big mound of mashed potatoes. Plus there was butter packets but no bread.

It's always my order they mess up. Checked the receipt - shows proper order.

Tried to call - hung up on. Called back - similar. Got to click for restaurant and then hung up.

Went online to try to reorder my entree. Online ordering suspended at this time.

So I ate my app and half my cheesecake and sent an email. Expect a reply in a few days. I told them I ate my app but I was still hungry and certainly didn't want the dry chicken and can't eat 2 cups of mashed potatoes - too many carbs. (Yeah I know - CC has plenty of carbs!)

Meanwhile, DD was not able to park in the pick up zone and it was too busy to hover nearby. She had to park in the big lot and walk in to pick up. She walked in the house wearing her mask and I said you wore it home in the car while all by yourself? She says 'I have fear of being exposed because people in Cheesecake Factory were shoulder to shoulder and I couldn't get back out without brushing up against someone it was so busy.' She took her food to her room and came downstairs this morning with her mask on.

She has been vigilant to not expose me, as I'm 67 with underlying health issues - diabetes, blood pressure, etc. So we will go from here.

Tomorrow 'I' go to the beach with older DD and grands. We are going to Bethany, De and will stay at the Bethany Suites (Marriott) that @SouthFayetteFan stayed at last year. Using daughters 2 certs from the Ritz card. $ amount with tax is somewhere close to $1500 for 2 nights with tax. I made her change from weekend to week days, as I'm hoping it will be less crowded.
I'm excited to try the hotel, but reticent about everything else. My beach time will be at sunrise where social distancing is natural. Our full day we will drive to Assateague and check out the horses. I'm bringing some food and told daughter I will only eat in, or if she gets takeout. Numbers are low at the beaches, but for the area residents. Tourists who test positive once they are home are probably not part of the county count, so I'll wear masks and stay away from people. I will not go to OC's boardwalk this visit - no Thrasher's fries but probably stop in for some Dolle's taffy and fudge. Standalone store on Route 50 in West Ocean City which I pass going to Assateague.

It's just not fair that a summer tradition such as goin down the ocean Hon (in B'more vernacular) has to be impacted - for everybody.

Enjoy Bethany! That beach is fairly small for the number of people there so hopefully you can keep your distance. The hotel is super nice IMO - report back on how it all goes!

So my pro-rated AF on my BCP (upgrade from BCE) hit. For some reason I didn’t realize the would pro-rate the AF.

Thanks! I'm not really a lay around in the sand in the heat person so I should be fine. If my jeep still has air by tomorrow - daughter has it out today - we can go on the off road area at Assateague - Jeep has a sticker. It's like this in off road area if you drive a bit - they only let a few in. And, another reason to keep the old jeep - Niro wouldn't cut it in the sand.

I've got a brown wicker type in my shed that I should also put to the curb, but - no bulky trash pickup here yet! Son in law took a few odd things to his own dumpster for me. I was so glad for the extra space. My cushions were faded and after pricing Sunbrella replacements $$$, I got new individual cushioned chairs with Sunbrella fabric for less money - also work better for social distancing when family is around. They are doing bulky trash but you have to carry the object to a central pick up and load it yourself - I'm not strong enough for that.

A lot of people here just put it on a curb and other people drive by and take them. I put out a vase and some ugly house decorations and someone picked them up in less than an hour. If no one picks them up then we do have bulk trash pick up on Tuesdays and fridays. The couch we got from them has faded cushions but it’s still a huge step up from what we had previously. It’s a really comfy couch

This was the weekend I had noted to make a decision on going to Glacier. Though in reality I made the decision about a month ago. Not sure if I was still just in denial or what. Got an email from my hotels this week that the entire east side is closed - probably for all of 2020 so my reservations were being canceled. I had to go through my old cards to see where the deposit was made last July. DH's CIP. I already cancelled that card so I'll need to call and hopefully get the refund in a check. I also have to cancel the other lodging on the west side of the park. Even though I knew we weren't going, it is still hard to accept. Going to have to make due with looking at the webcams and youtube videos this summer.

Planning for next summer. July 1st, hotels in Glacier for July 2021 open up. I'll rebook for then.

I was thinking of Hilton Head but then hearing SC was going up in cases and no guarantee the beaches wouldn't be crowded, I decided against that. I didn't look forward to driving 10 hours and it not working out. Now I am just focusing on places in Ohio where we can drive back and forth in one day.

I got my hair cut a week ago. Last time was in February. The salons opened in May but I wasn't comfortable to be one of the first ones in. It wasn't bad - you have to wear a mask, stylist wears a mask, wait in the car. I like my hair short and it is so thick, I need layers. I surprised myself by not doing anything to it since Feb. I usually can't wait and trim my bangs.

So, this is today. Other daughter and friend took the Jeep to the off road beach. This is the spacing between the vehicles. They are there now and will grill and come back very late as they can stay all night IF they don't go to sleep. I think the social distancing is okay.

Edit - just to comment, I'm sure the regular beaches are packed as it's about 81ish today there.
