Christmas baking is done! DS made “Disney Caramel Apple Pie” and niece made a Triple Cherry pie.
Working tomorrow then coming home to finish assembling Buche de Noel, then to my sister’s for Christmas Eve fun. May not have time to check in here for a few days, so Merry Christmas to everyone on the best thread on Dis with the best bunch of people!

Gorgeous! I went to the store and bought cookies, does that count for anything? 😜

Sad to see that no new award flights (for the third week in November) are showing on United's site yet. I was hoping they'd show up today since it's Monday but I wonder if they're taking a whole week off of posting new ones because of Christmas. Just waiting... waiting...

Finally talked (guilted?) my husband into trying Disney+ for me for Christmas, so we watched 4 episodes of The Mandalorian last night. Interesting so far!

We also watched Logan and Deadpool (back to back) the night before last and all I can say is good grief, I've never seen so much gratuitous violence! Don't need to watch those again.

I made about 13 dozen cookies over my weekend so I brought most of them to work so we wouldn't eat them at home.. but guess what. I'm at work with them so that was not the smartest thing I've done recently...

Here is an informal poll I put on my FB page:

When eating oatmeal cookies, do you prefer them:

1- plain
2- with chocolate chips
3- with chocolate chips and nuts
4- some other combination or addition?

4. dried cherries and chocolate chunks. 😋

Where is oatmeal scotchies on the list? I made those last week and they didn’t last long. I actually don’t think I’ve ever had oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips.

Hmm dried cherries sound fantastic. I'm not a huge chocolate person but I should definitely check out the dried cherries for next time (the current batch has fresh chopped cranberries in it).

I keep hearing about these... but I don't like butterscotch! Do I need to go to the shun corner now?

My dad likes them with nuts and chocolate chips. I'm definitely in the "plain" camp (or with cranberries). No clue where he got his weird idea from...

I don’t think I have ever had oatmeal cookies as listed. They always have either raisins or cranraisins.

With chocolate chips! None of this dried fruit business. It's a cookie, the oatmeal is just there to make you feel slightly better about eating them ;)

Who were the University of Michigan folks here? @LilSweetPeaPhoto and I can’t remember who else, but I know there were several. Is the Hyatt a good location to campus? Thinking that is where we will use our free night cert to do DSs visit sometime soon. Told him I would take him in the bitter cold so he would hate it. Haha.

Not in Ann Arbor but have visited my kid at UM a few times. Last time we stayed at the Hilton by the mall, and we drove past a Hyatt Place that's across the street. It was a very easy drive to campus (just a few miles), but we did not try to park on campus. Parking on campus would be my only worry--hopefully the admissions office has some reserved parking? We did discover that parking downtown (which is right next to the campus) is pretty easy even on a crazy football weekend.

100% I would also say raisins!
Apparently I forgot to add that raisins are NOT an option!

Do you mean to tell me, @Artygal90 , that it's not health food merely because it has oatmeal in it????

I live a few cities away. The Hyatt Place is right off the freeway and across from the mall. It's not downtown or on campus but is a short drive. Parking on campus can be tricky depending on when you're going. There are good parking structures where you can get within a few blocks of main campus areas. Any specific areas you're trying to visit or more of just a general overview of city and campus?

The Graduate and Residence Inn are the closest to central campus and downtown if that's important.

Edited to add: you could always Uber from the Hyatt and avoid parking. It's a great walking city once you're downtown.

I’m personally not going to relay somebody’s personal info. Basically, he fits the profile of the info I’ve shared thus far and he got an e-mail saying account suspended and had his upcoming award flights cancelled. If he chooses to share more that’s his call 😊
So... I was typing this between board games earlier and I have no idea where that happy face came from. I am certainly not "happy" about a shutdown... what a jerk I am...

(if you’re late seeing this I edited out the happy face...)

With raisins. Just raisins!

...I’ll walk myself over the shun corner. With my oatmeal raisin cookies of course.
