Thanks! I knew that I shouldn't pay the fee, especially since I can meet the spend organically and don't need the points immediately. We've had so much expenses lately, all requiring checks only that it felt nice to be able to charge something. Thanks for talking sense into me!

Quoting myself to note that I found another option. The designer took PayPal also, so I was able to use my Chase Freedom for 5x this quarter. Even with the 3% fee, that still nets me 2x right? She might be wondering why I'm only paying $1500 by PayPal and the rest with check, lol.

I can’t believe they get the scores in 9 days. This is her first time. And she was telling me about the mystery 5th section that was different for everyone.

She got it last week but has 68 days until she can drive it alone. And yes I’m hoping she can help but they are like oil and water right now.

Do they take it electronically or on paper? Curious because I don't know and back in '96 when I took it the first was on paper and then some of us were offered the chance to take it again on the computer for free to help test the program and we could keep and use the score if it was better, which mine was. But I never heard or followed it to find out if it ever actually switched or not.

Any tips on things to do or places to eat in Columbus, OH? It’s about a 3 hr drive for us and DD has next Fri off school. We’re booked at a nice Hilton near the outdoor mall and it has a pretty nice looking indoor pool. Thinking COSI, the zoo on the way there/back if it’s nice and the Botanical Gardens if the weather isn’t great.

The zoo is amazing here. They got the polar bears back a few years ago and that exhibit is cool. You got most of the big things I think of in Columbus. I think you are referencing the Franklin Park Conservatory (botanical gardens). It is very nice and has an extended Chihuly exhibit running right now.

By outdoor mall, I assume you mean Easton. If so, there are many places to eat there depending on what you like. Brio (Italian), Fado (Irish), J Alexanders (American) are good and there is always the popular Cheesecake Factory and 5 Guys . If you are willing to drive somewhere, I really like The Elevator (American/Craft Beer), The Pearl (American/Oyster bar) or Nada (Mexican) which are all downtown.

Did your dd pass on the Essay version of the SAT? This article says the 5th section is the "experimental" section and is sometimes triggered when you don't do the Essay https://www.c2educate.com/the-sat-experimental-section-explained/ The article says it's been around for a few years, and you don't know which q's are experimental and which q's are legit because they'll mix the q's from this section with the rest of the test. The tutor probably knew about it but there is no way to prep for it since students have to answer all q's their best due to the legit/experimental question mixing.

Gosh I hated those standardized test days. With the SAT they were just introducing the essay part, I remember prepping myself for round 1 & did a small tutoring class for round 2. I think we even had to do a PSAT at some point before it so there was more prep. Did ok but not as good as I should have being an honors student. Best part and why I have a tale to tell: my Dad wanted me to take the ACT and I put my foot down. Unbeknownst to me he signed me up for it and told me about it the night before with the instructions "You will take it tomorrow morning". I remember staying up late just because I was ticked at him. I did my best on test morning because while stubborn I wasn't entirely stupid at that age- and I did significantly better than on either of my SAT tries.

As of a couple years ago, the SAT was still on paper, as was the ACT. The GRE and MCAT are done electronically on computers.

depends on how the designer sets up her payment option. most companies have payment processor, so they take the fee themselves. if your sending it paypal to paypal then its different, u both take the fees. You send it as a friend, only u pay the fees.

keep in mine though, ur probably gonna pay her less than $1500. (like $1460 cuz 3% fee... $1460+3% fee = $1500)

Yes to Columbus! I’ll be there in two weeks. The zoo is excellent, and DH proposed to me after a day there If you’re going downtown and like German food, don’t miss Schmidt’s. DH and I also like Melt, which has some locations outside of downtown I know, but not sure how convenient they are to where you’re staying. Really wild/huge sandwiches. Our favorite is The Dude Abides which has mozzarella sticks on the sandwich. The Thurman Cafe looks like a dive but is an awesome burger joint with huge burgers. it’s been featured on food network multiple times.

And whatever you do, DO NOT miss Jeni’s ice cream!! Maybe you already have them in your area since you’re only 3 hours away, but the ice cream is incredible.

Talk to me about the Blue Cash Preferred... looking for a family member who likes the 6% back on groceries idea. They could refer their P2 from their Biz Plat for 15k MRs to an offer for $300 back on $1k spend, AF not waived. I'm bummed as the referral bonus on the Biz Plat was 20k MRs not too long ago but $300 on $1k spend looks like a decent offer on that card?

i like mine as my Giant Eagle has gift cards and fuel rewards. I can max out the 6% of $6000 buying GC. DH has a BCE (no fee) and sometimes I downgrade mine and upgrade his if there is an offer to upgrade.
