And I wish it didn’t need to include hotel! I’d be all over flights +/- a car! Of course I’m a Delta hostage DVC owner so flights are my reason for being here.
I can’t say I’m an expert on what’s going on here, but doesn’t a flight + car package work with this promotion?

So, I am still on the fence about the Delta packages. I am leaning towards pulling the trigger but I need to transfer MR's to Delta. Is this transfer instant? I do not want to have MR's stuck in Delta and I missed the package deals!
I had to transfer MRs to Delta for my package. I confirmed ahead of time that my MRs were linked to transfer to the correct Delta account first (good thing because I had to switch the MR transfer from DH's Delta account to my account). Then, I called Delta Vacations and finalized the package. I transferred the MRs to Delta while on the phone with the rep when it was time to pay. Transfer was instant.

They will also put reservations on a 24 hour hold for you, and I think you can pay for a held reservation online even if you set it up on the phone. So you could call, put reservation on hold, transfer MRs, then pay. I couldn't go this route because I had a WDW ticket in my package, and they couldn't put the WDW ticket on hold.

I forgot to mention this earlier this week when I saw it: my Kroger is now carrying Norwegian Cruise Line and Amtrak gift cards. I don’t use either of these options, but I know some people here do. They had a little sign next to them on the display that said “new!”
I haven't seen Norwegian anywhere yet. That's promising... even if we have no Kroger brand stores around here.

Although in TIL today yesterday, Littman Jewelers is the same as Fred Meyers Jewelers, which is a Kroger company. But somehow I doubt I'll be finding GC's there...
(was surprised to see a couple local malls pop up when I did a search. a little Google action and voila. Littman Jewelers is a DBA so all locations come up as Fred Meyers Jewelers on the Kroger site)

(I started this post and then had to run away. Reminded me of Roanoke a little to come back to a complete post just waiting for the button push!)

@Haley R how are you feeling this morning? Did you guys make a plan yet? Looks like it’s going to be less of a direct hit to FL in general but I know you guys are still in the path.
Thanks for thinking of us! We still haven’t made a decision. Dh put up all of our shutters and now we’re moving everything into the garage from the patio out back. I just don’t think I want to pay $1000 to stay at AKL if we don’t need to. Dh wants to stay and would only go if I really felt like we needed to

Totally understandable. I think if it keeps curving you guys will be in better shape.

@amalone1013 what are you guys up to now?

I wonder if anything will change with MCO? I know there will still be rains/high wind but I wonder if it will open back up tuesday. @disneymagicgirl when were you supposed to go down?

As it seems the trend is more east with all these updates, anyone know if SW would let me change my arrival airport to TPA? I don't have my room reservation anymore since they made the closing MCO statement yesterday (should've waited to cancel, ugh) but I can still do an AP rate. The official SW statement says between the same airport pairs. Seems silly I can't go into an open airport right up the road (assuming it remains open which could change obviously).

DH was like, I dont want to to home yet. What if sat or sun we fly to nashville for a night or something? :rotfl: I've created a monster!

Nashville is such a fun city. Just know that half our neighborhood is there for the Georgia/Vanderbilt game tonight! I wonder about room availability.

Try contacting them via direct message on Twitter. Definitely can’t hurt to ask!

If you call and get to the right person SW can do anything you want. If you get a disinterested front line rep who is just putting in their 8 hours today you may not get a great response. If you get somebody who wants to apply logic and not lose revenue for the company and sees empty seats - they probably will help you out. :D I’d call and give it a shot.

I'm kicking myself for cancelling that reservation yesterday when they announced the airport closure. I am watching and waiting to see if I can work it out still.

@DisneyMandC @calypso726 or anyone else- For the Marriott Vacation Club packages, do you the nights on the package count towards your Marriott status? I attempted to do one if the nights will count. It looks like you can only do one a year.

My 7 night cert counted as nights stayed as well as my free night certs from my cards. They were listed as redeemed nights. 2 of my 3 timeshare weeks counted as paid days. I have another 4 timeshare weeks scheduled so I’m hoping they process correctly. E96DA6FC-AB6C-4E12-B5AE-A27144448156.png

OK! I am going to wait and see if the 11am update is a continuing trend east and if so, then call.

ETA: Maybe I will get really open and the MCO closure will change too.

Wow that's interesting! The fine print on my Orlando offer says that it will not count towards Bonvoy rewards or stays.

OK tell me if I’m crazy. What if I was considering a way to get WDW tix.

1. Book at cheap Delta vacation - thinking ATL-MCO and 2 nights in cheapest hotel
Cost is $681

2. Add on WDW flex park hopper tix to package (must have 4 people on reservation to get 4 tix) can get up to 10 days cost $3092, package total is $3924 with insurance

3. Pay the travel insurance $232

5. Cancel said package for a travel voucher to use in one year

4. WDW tix are non refundable so you’d have to keep those right??

5. Pay with miles so for 4 flex Disney park tickets 10 day hoppers it would cost $3092 plus eat the $232 fee so and cost me 166KMRs. So I’d essentially be getting a value of 4 10 day hopper tickets for $1660? I could then upgrade to APs? Not sure the cost on that?
Plus I’d have a $681 delta and paid 196K MRs for the total equivalant of $1960

Am I missing something??

I think this MIGHT work, but the real question is what happens to the WDW tickets. I assumed the same as you - if I added travel insurance, then cancelled the trip, I would get a voucher for the full trip amount minus the cost of trip insurance and minus the cost of the WDW ticket. Since the WDW ticket is nonrefundable, I assumed I would keep the WDW ticket instead. But, when I asked the rep, she said the cost of the WDW ticket would be added to the voucher, too. I didn't push her on it because I don't really care either way, and I still think she might have given me the wrong information.

My WDW ticket is supposed to be delivered by email 30 days before my trip, since I'm staying offsite. It's 60 days if it's an onsite visit. I wonder if maybe the ticket would be refunded if trip is cancelled before the ticket is delivered? Not really sure.

One other question - does the $681 include flights for all 4 people? I'm not sure if you can buy more WDW tickets than you have flights. They attached my WDW ticket specifically to DD5 on the reservation.
