I just checked Davids (dvcrequest.com). I don't see any dedicated reservations for those dates right now. DVCstore (dvcstore.com) also has last minute deals, but I am not seeing them posted online. Maybe it is e-mail only?
I see one rental listed on dvcstore and its Dec 15-22. They want 2900 for it. That's $27.10 a point!! Its 107 points at Copper Creek in a studio. They list Disney's full price of $4426 a week and the $2900 as a discount. Of course there is no studio availability left for a week so maybe they will get it.

Yeah, although we aren't subscribed to Hulu right now - we always drop it in the summer months when there are no shows running - I only ever want Hulu with no commercials. If there will be a bundle with that, I'm in. But it looks like it will only include the $7.99 Hulu option.
Yes, can't handle the commercial version.

If you're sitting on some Delta points: there are some pretty sweet/tempting deals for WDW or Universal.

Delta Vacation Packages are offering double value right now, so 2cpp.

Looking at random dates DFW-MCO for February 3rd-8th trip (5 nights) at DAK for 2/4 is 137,050/164,279 points, Swan/Dolphin is 105,740/136,000, Port Orleans is 95,004/122,204

For comparison, Sapphire Falls at Universal is 75,756/102,956 and Portofino Bay is 118,930/140,530.

This is for hotel and flights, round trip. So it only adds ~14k miles round trip for an extra person.

If anyone is ever curious why it is recommended to get a plethora of currencies, even if you think you won't use them, this is why.

And, I got the popup on the Hilton Biz application that I have waiting til last minute to do to push my msr time out past xmas. My first ever pop up.

Can't say I wasn't expecting it with my meager spend on a couple of my Amex's. I got the standard 'opening and closing' history spiel but I've never closed an Amex card, ever. Guess I'll have to start ms'ing my 3 spg's, lol. But, I don't really need any Marriott points.

You are half a day late on this but thanks for posting it anyway. Good point on the variety of currencies.

What do you think would happen if I did this as a “throwaway” flight (ie I never intend to take the flight) just for the hotel. And I’d have to book it for one adult and then somehow add my family to the reservation separately.

They have a CR theme park view for the exact dates I want it. I could transfer my MRs to Delta and cover ~80% of the cost! But this is the 2nd leg of my split stay so I definitely wouldn’t be taking the flight haha.

I see no reason why that wouldn't work. The hotel leg would be separate. That said, why not jump on that flight and have the wife/kids jump on the other if the times are comparable?

Or even put the wife on that one (first class)?

I'm not opposed to flying seperately for the better redemptions. We did it coming back from Costa Rica- each had a kid and I ended up going through Mexico City and wife through Atlanta.

Guys - I can’t explain this one.

I tried ATL, PIT, MSP, etc all for my flights on the Delta site - cheapest was ATL with a flight + room at Contemp for ~$2,500.

I try Las Vegas for giggles...it comes up at $1,900????? I could pay for that fully with my MR points. That one makes no sense. It’s less money than booking direct with Disney!

Edit: see my next comment - I figured it out lol.

Ok - I think I figured it out (and it’s scary). They defaulted me to a red-eye (the cheapest flight) and weren’t booking me a hotel for Wednesday night!!! 😮 That would’ve been bad!!! LOL!

As soon as I adjusted the flight the price shot up to $2,800.

I know a lot of us who have already held the AmEx Biz Platinum are considering upgrading our Greens and/or Golds to Biz Platinums for the 50K MR, no lifetime language, offer. A bunch of us were discussing this a few days ago.

Well, I stumbled upon a thread on reddit, and there are several AmEx reps who can offer 100K MR/$10K spend/3mo with no lifetime language via call-in. I just made the call, and was instantly approved in spite of the fact that I already hold a Biz Platinum and a Biz Gold. The entire call was 10-15 minutes, with the typical easy phone application - basically just saying all of the stuff you would have typed on the application. They email the terms while on the phone, so I could verify that there is no lifetime language.

I'll share my experience on r/dischurners.

I'm not sure if I should share a link to the reddit thread here, or if I should instead share it on r/dischurners. I think I will wait for comments from the pros, then edit this comment.

I’m interested if you don’t mind sharing!

@Albort shared that this was possible in the 100k MR Biz Plat call-in thread on DISchurners, so it’s best if you post the number you called, your rep, and your experience in that thread. This would help quite a few folks here. Thanks! :thumbsup2

ETA: I know aksurvivorfan has a thread about this inviting folks to PM him for info on his churninginfo subreddit. I wonder if that’s the thread you found. I don’t have interaction with ak, so I’m hesitant to PM him out of the blue. Others who are more active on reddit, feel free to go that route and ak might be able to provide more/different info.

Is that a 10k spend?

Really wanting some MR's or at least more skymiles for a possible Hawaii trip next year. Tried to trick to see if I could dh out of pop-up jail. Nope! Tried the Gold first, no go, so then tried Delta Biz Plat, since it's a different type. No go there either :-(
Unsure what to do now, could try the Hawaiian Card, but not sure I want to be limited to that airline, but I know they offer consistent flight pricing.

Negative DP for @Albort.
