@wendofor your DD maximizing her PayPal category on Doscover, is it the same process as when PayPal was a Freedom category last year? May have to give it a shot

I’m cautious so when lowing mine it’s to 20-30% of household income....to increase chances of a approval
The minimum CL Chase gives on the CIP is $5k.... so you need room for that amount....
For me usually the cards close at night.....so I would lower the cards closing today and 8/9...
@Livelovedance - this is what I would suggest. It’s probably easiest to send a SM now to reduce the CL for the card that has a statement closing today anyway. Your monthly statement should run through the rest of today, and Chase should respond to your SM request within a few hours.
How far under 50% will kind of depend on where Chase is ok with you having credit in general. Chase typically extends 60% of reported income to me. So if I'm at 45%, they've approved me for a CL that takes me over 50 no problem. With the business cards they've extended less individual CL than on personals, so after each business card I was at or just over 50% and so I'd lower some limits enough to get back in the 40's for the next card. After my last app which was for a personal card, they approved another crazy CL which puts me back at 60% again.
So where were you before you lowered and would the 5k minimum of the CIP put you at or under that?
Thank you all for your responses. I know I'm stressing way too much over this so I appreciate your time lol.Ah, I see Chase likes you too at 60%
Depending on how big your biz or "biz" is you may not get back there with the CIP. So maybe more realistic, would the 5k minimum on a CIP be at or under ~53-55% ? I also vote for trying to lower the card that's closing today if you can, just to be sure.
Actually pretty simple, their bonus points are tied to the Value cash fare and are worth 2.9 cpp. Acela trains cost 2.59 cpp.
40k points are worth $1,160 in non-Acela travel.
Staples will have fee free VGC’s August 4th-10th. I will definitely be taking advantage of this.
I was thinking about the serve idea and just wanted to ask you if you didn’t mind a couple questions?
The best way to do this is to buy VGC when there is no fee, then you use those gift cards to load money on serve, then you transfer to bank account? Is that it or am I missing another step?
Ok, so, story time on the hotel stay this weekend...
So we're at a Sleep Inn that's in fairly decent shape compared to what I'm used to. It's sort of in a more residential area, but right off a major turnpike and backs up to a large church. No problems Thursday night, everything was fine. Friday night/early Saturday morning, I wake up to the sound of loudly revving engines at 1:00 AM. I hear it a couple times and figure it's some morons on the turnpike on motorcycles and they'll take off and that'll be that. So I kind of doze off again and then wake back up to the same sound. It keeps going and it becomes clear that people are very close to the hotel drag racing. Finally, after about 20 minutes of hearing it off and on and waking back up, I get up and look out my window to see approximately 20 cars circling around the back of the parking lot of the church and then flooring it out of the shared entrance with the hotel. This went on for AN HOUR. I finally had to call non-emergency dispatch and they told me they had already had a report and had an officer on the way. It stopped within about 5 minutes after the call. So I was frustrated but figured it wasn't the hotel's fault there were some morons nearby.
So the next night, go to bed. Wake up at 1:30 to THE SAME THING, SAME CARS. I only let it go on for about 20 minutes before I called non-emergency dispatch again and it quit after about 10 minutes. I could tell other people in the hotel were awake and our friends were also staying there and told me they heard it both nights. They went by the front desk of the hotel Sunday morning and said something about the racing and the front desk clerk just goes "oh yeah, they tend to do that on the weekends."
Excuse me??? There are local idiots drag racing out of the hotel parking lot every weekend and y'all are just letting this go on?? Clearly they're not calling dispatch to have an officer nearby given how long it was going on. I was willing to let it slide until the front desk made it clear that this was a regular event.
this is interesting...I think I need to do this also with my small stash. I'm assuming these are physical gc's....Good to know - don’t order them in a pinch! LOL!

good thinking. I have a travel budget that I try to stick to for each year. My travel isn't free but this game makes it possible. So I budget in all the things that points doesn't cover. Including Af's,etc.Really good points. I think we really only travel because we have the miles. For example we are doing the SWGE preview in a few weeks. Without the miles and the companion pass we would definitely not be going. And obviously points aren't covering everything (food, tickets uber to the airport etc) so I am spending money I normally wouldn't if I didn't have the miles but I think it is still worth the extra out of pocket to get all of these experiences. I really need to set a travel budget though and have the MS fees and extras come out of that budget. We don't currently budget for travel, we just do what we want and miles helps offset the cost. This is leading to problems though. I think I need to set a travel budget for 2020 and stick to it. Only take these last minute trips and stuff if it fits in the budget. I can also add to it by cashing out points when I MS for cash. So maybe I can MS the BBP first to get some extra cash to help offset these expenses.

Like I said earlier, it's been a couple of years since I did the onsite at Uni thing, but unless things have really changed, the whole process is so....'un-Disney' that I think you're worrying more than you need to . Not saying don't prepare but you really have the 'plan every detail down to your last breath months ahead of time to prepare for our glitchy system' mentality that Disney does so well in promoting.... my experience (every time) with Uni is it's a lot less fussing over unnecessary details. I am guessing she can use a cc with your last name at the checkin kiosk in the lobby of hotel, and pick them all up. I may be wrong here, but this is why I prefer the whole experience on 'the dark side'. I think she can get at least 4 tickets that are attached to her room, possibly all 8 for all of you. I really enjoy the hotels over there a lot.Can somebody talk to me about the Express Pass Unlimited and staying at Hard Rock (or other top tier Uni hotels). When we check in - what happens? Are we given a band or a card or something that includes that benefit? Do we have to prove that we've purchased park tickets and for how many days?
I specifically ask because of my whole ticket issue:
- My sister is going to show up and check-in Saturday morning - her room has 4 people in it including my parents who aren't coming until later
- My clan and my parents will show up Saturday afternoon
- My sister may end up picking up all 8 tickets - obviously I have no idea how that will play out
So I'm trying specifically to figure out if my sister will pick-up the Express Pass Unlimited for my parents, and basically how the whole thing will work. If anybody knows the ins and outs of this I'd appreciate it.
I need to start researching Plastiq for mortgage...I'm so worried my company won't take a payment from them.... that's what's been holding me back.My first plaatiq mortgage payment posted to my acct so now I can stop worrying about it not working for some odd reason. Now to set up my student loan.
yeah....I;m a little scared to turn off autopay thru my bank (since BoA is not especially helpful overall) and try Plastiq for fear something won't go thru right- plus I'm sending in an extra payment monthly too. I;m not sure how to do all that yet.Anyone have their mortgage through Navy Federal that uses Plastiq to pay? Ours in on Auto pay but would like to start paying it with Plastiq once I hope on the grAAvy train.
Does dell run sales? There are some new Amex Offers this morning:
Busch Gardens Williamsburg - Spend $100 or more in one or more eligible transactions directly with Busch Gardens Wlliamsburg online or in-park, get $20 back. Expires 10/27/2019.
Dell.com - Get 10% back, up to $1,500 in total statement credits, on eligible purchases at dell.com/amex* by 1/31/2020.
* In practice, shopping though a portal directly at Dell.com triggers the offer; it doesn’t have to be through /amex. So stack this offer with a high % shopping portal deal and the Biz Plat’s $100 semi-annual credit(s) from now through end of January 2020.
I have been paying my Provident loan via Plastiq and have left the auto pay as a safety net. But I am currently a month head (made Aug payment at the end of June and put in the memo Aug payment) without any problems. They typically pull my payment on the 5th of the month but no double payments so far.yeah....I;m a little scared to turn off autopay thru my bank (since BoA is not especially helpful overall) and try Plastiq for fear something won't go thru right- plus I'm sending in an extra payment monthly too.
