Need some help. I can’t get another citi biz until 8-15 so can someone tell me if it’s worth getting the executive over the platinum card? I am ok using a x/24 for it. Is it worth it? I plan on going to Hawaii in March and am on board with the gravy train. Just debating if the benefits of paying more for the AF out-way getting the platinum. Is the admirals lounge that good? Is priority boarding better then having whatever comes with a biz card? All new to me with AA. Thanks

Okay I just tried for the Hilton Biz and got the pop up. I have 4 Amex cards. I just closed my SPG Biz after 14 years of having it. I closed my Delta Gold personal in March to get the Delta Gold Biz.

My Amex Everyday (got in Jan) - I don't spend on it anymore (I did to hit the $1000 and 10k MR) but it has a lovely $4500 balance I'm paying on monthly.

My Hilton Aspire has been used on and off. I got it in Dec 18 and hit it hard to get the bonus.

My Hilton Surpass (got in Oct 17) has had limited spending on it. But I did sign my DD up for a card and spent on it to get the bonus for that (in May). And I have it now set for Hulu and Netflix I think. And my monthly Young Living Oils (which is $100+)

My Delta Gold Biz got in Mar/Apr and hit the spend FAST! Have this set as a recurring payment for my kids doctor bills - $40-80/mo and do other small spending here and there.

So I feel like I'm good on making sure spends happen. The one probably neglected is the Aspire. It's had maybe 2 months with no spend. And I haven't spent on the Everyday but I'd think having a balance would negate the lack of spending there. So how do I get out of popup hell? Here I thought Amex loved me....Waaaaaah!

In a word, SPEND on your existing cards.

From what you’ve wrote:

- You got the Hilton Aspire in December and “hit it hard to get the bonus,” and now only use it “on and off” but you say there were 2 months without any spend on it.

- You got the Amex Everyday in January, racked up a $4,500 balance on a 0% introductory APR card, and say you “don't spend on it anymore.” Having a balance does not negate the lack of spend, even if you’re paying it down. New spend generates swipe fees for Amex. A balance is money you already owe Amex, and with 0% interest they’re not making any money on it. Moreover, maintaining a balance on a 0% APR card is thought to be one of the factors that triggers the bonus denial pop up (“Based on your history with American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive this welcome offer.)

- You got the Delta Gold Biz got in March/April and here’s another card you say you “hit the spend FAST!” and now have some “small spending here and there.”

You have a pattern of signing up for new Amex cards, hitting the MSR FAST and collecting the bonus, then moving onto the next card and putting low to no spend on your cards after meeting MSR. Running a balance on your Everyday 0% APR is likely a factor too. These are classic patterns that the Amex RAT is looking for to flag you as someone who is only opening their cards for the bonuses and will land you in pop up purgatory.

When the pop ups first started happening to members here, one of the things we recommended was to avoid the temptation to hit Amex MSRs fast with high spend, because you don’t want to set yourself up for a sudden drop off in your spend on that card after meeting MSR. If you can meet your MSR with spend that is lower and more level and over the full MSR period, it might make your spending patterns easier to taper down. In any case, it’s recommended to keep spending on your Amex cards. That’s probably easier to do than what @Albort mentioned the other day, because once you get the pop up, the suggestion is to bring the spend on your existing Amex cards back up to the level where they were when you were working on the MSR — but this time all that increased spend is not for any bonus, but to try to get out of pop up purgatory.

Sitting in the lounge at MCO. Heading home tonight and kind of sad but happy to know we will be heading back here for wdw in 9 days!!!

We had a great time on our short but sweet stay. Loved Deerfield beach. Airboat tour in Everglades with lots gators! Sharks and stingrays in Deerfield. Great food!! Stopped in at Disney’s Vero beach today and hung out for a bit before heading to MCO. Now I want to stay there!

@Haley R went through your new home of Melbourne and waved to you but you weren’t there it appears. Next time! Glad sea world was a better experience.

I just received notification that my credit score dropped another 24 points-only changing factor was opening my second CIP. I was instantly approved, and I received notifications from all the credit monitoring services I use that JPM Chase Card services had an inquiry on Experian and Trans Union. I was at an 815. Down to a 765 since I started this credit card churning adventure. Should I be concerned?

Do you have any personal cards that have closed with a higher balance showing on your credit report.....that usually drops a credit score for that month...but it will go back up if your cards don’t close with a high balance

quoting myself b/c he got back to me.... he says he auto line, it says he app'ed twice...(he thinks he hit the button twice maybe by accident) so app 1 is at two weeks, app 2 (the accident???) is 7-10 which is obviously denial. He wants to just wait it out, is that ok,or should he call in to clarify at this point? looking for advice on how to proceed with this kind of 'oops'( I know he didn't app twice on purpose)
I’d wait it out for now

I was just doing my daily aa portal check for marathon weekend 2020 and two Disney resorts popped up. CBR and AKL! Yay! CBR was 130,000 miles on useaamiles. (Over 140,000 on aavacations) I had 129,000 miles so I booked the preferred room at CBR using all my miles and $14.
I am excited to try a new resort and be able to use the sky liners. I’m sure now that I have a non refundable room all the Disney resorts will be available soon.

Ok. A little advice needed.
DHs cards
1/18 BOA Travel Rewards
5/18 CIP (cancelled 6/19)
8/18 Barclay’s Biz
12/18 CIC
4/19 CIU
7/1/19 SW Perf Biz

I want to go for the other SW Biz. When is the soonest I could safely do that?
I have $1400 in Insurance payments due in September and would like to use a new MSR plus I’d love to have the CP to maybe book a little fall getaway.

Usually we recommend 3 months between Chase applications....you could try earlier if you really need the card...

Jan 10-13 are our dates. Didn’t check any others.

I should also add that I check our dates like 4 times a day. I checked this morning and afternoon and there was nothing. Logged on tonight and saw the 2 resorts. I would have liked to wait it out a little longer and see if some other resorts came on but I just want to have a resort booked so I can move on to other planning.
