:welcome:......glad you are working on your list of credit cards......
If you haven’t opened more than 5 personal cards in the last 24 months most of us here start with Chase...and since you will have an Etsy Business....the Chase Ink Preferred has the highest sign up bonus 80k URs after spending $5k in the first 3 months....

Ohh Thanks... I will check this out... I think I can manage 5k in the first 3 months.... Thanks again...

I think my one question got lost overnight. Are self-referrals on the Hilton (from the Aspire to the Surpass) a no-no for the Biz? I want the newest offer w/ the free night and 130k points.

2- Since CIP seems to be out of contention, it appears to be safe to go for the Hilton biz, right? Can I self-referred on that or is that a no-no now? I have the Surpass and Aspire. And if not, where is the link to the best offer.

The recent Amex clawbacks of self-referral bonuses shows that Amex considers self-referrals off limits.

Although the clawbacks were limited to MR points, and no self-referral bonuses paid out in co-branded points like Hilton or Marriott have been clawed back (so far?) -- perhaps because it's more difficult to claw back points that have already been deposited into co-brand accounts -- there's no guarantee Amex can't or won't go after Hilton self-referral bonus points at some point. If you self-refer now, that's a risk you take.

However, currently, it's not possible to refer to the Hilton Biz with the 130k points + FWN SUB offer. That referral offer is only available for the Surpass right now. If you really want the Hilton Biz with the 130k points + FWN SUB now, and given referral isn't available, you could just use a public link.

Also I'm 300K sb away from the next member recognition level. When I hit that I get 15,000 sb ($150). And buying sb counts toward this.
Oooh, didn't think of member recognition.
it will once things start dying because of them lol.
one of MMS's writer was the reason why plastiq stop coding as 3x for the CIP.
This was my first thought lol. Come on @Lain , tell @smmco the real reason we don't like MMS: https://www.disboards.com/threads/i-love-credit-cards-so-much.3528202/page-2162#post-59621127

Still have not received the staples Amex credit. Had both offers ($5 back on $25 and 10k MR back on $40) added to my BBP. Bought one $50 Disney gc. Neither offer posted but both are gone from the card. Is that weird? To have the offers disappear but not credit?

Purchase posted 7/18.

We are in the midst of several LARGE home remodeling projects ($10k project, $15k project, and $5k project) plus fertility treatments.

DH got the Chase Marriott Bonvoy card with 100k bonus points with initial spend, and it was met last week.
I got the Amex Marriott Brilliant card with 100k bonus points with initial spend, and it was met in May.
I got the Chase Southwest RR card with 60k bonus when it was still open back in May. Met the minimum spend in June.
I got the chase 30k bonus Rapid Rewards points for opening a new checking with direct deposit.

I'm conflicted on what to do next - by my math, I'm going to be about 18,000 points short of the 110k needed for SWRR companion pass. But, I'm also pregnant and unsure if we'd be able to maximize the companion pass in 2020- we only have 2 RT flights planned, and one of the return flights would be 1/1/2021, so not eligible for companion pass.

We still have roughly $10,000 in home projects to carry out between now and year end.

None of our cards carry a balance (paying in full monthly from our HELOC).

Should I have DH try and get the current 40k southwest RR bonus? Is there another card you'd recommend? Should we just sprint for the companion pass benefits on my card and take what we can get?

I think I missed the earlier stuff on Memory bank and CC funding. I see an older post on DoC but it looks like no bonus. Is this the right one? DH's new CIP arrived so I need to start putting some spend on that.

Correct no bonus but $1000 funding

Any issues with getting money out/fees/ETFs? If I can do one for both me and DH that would be great. I don't mind parking $1000 there for a while but don't want to leave it tied up for months if I don't have to.

What did you use to get your DD to credit with the Chase Checking account?

Not sure where you are on the East coast, but Hawaiian is flying direct from Boston now. They periodically have sales. I ended up paying with UR rather than transferring to airline because we got a great price on 4 direct flights in Feb. My kids will be 6 and 9.
Thanks, I'm in RI so I'd be flying out of Boston most likely anyway. I'll look into Hawaiian!

DoC doesn't mention any ETF. Fees are for specific things, paper statements etc. Rate is supposed to be really good, so I will just leave mine there for awhile. I had no issues last time I had an account with them, closing it.

I did it awhile ago for the $100 bonus but I didn’t have any fees for transferring the money out and there was no minimum balance so I had a $1 in our accounts for awhile before closing.

And a day or two later, reports came in that Plastiq stopped coding 3x UR on the CIP. MMS had been pushing this story for months and got it featured on TPG, Yahoo, AOL, Business Insider, and then on CNBC before they finally killed it. That same MMS blogger also had a series of clickbait articles about how he earned thousands of dollars worth of travel points from different things with this “one cool trick” of Plastiq coding 3x on the CIP, including how he paid for his buddy’s grad school tuition using his business card!

:car::badpc: :sad2:

The rate is so good, I might just stick some money from a lower rate account in there LOL

Thanks for all the tips, I will have to sign up for reddit.... and will PM you with my username.... I am going to stick around I have alot to learn... I have been following Haley R... and her trip report inspired me to commit to learning how this all works... Please bare with me... I ask alot of questions...

Questions are good! We welcome them and do our best to respond!

If you don’t have a handy list of your credit cards and when you opened them, you can sign up for Credit Karma for free, and it’ll pull up your credit reports from Equifax and TransUnion and you can see what cards you have, open and closed, and when you opened them. We just need to know what cards you’ve applied for and opened (closed or not) in the past 2 years.
