Update on the 30% back up to $100 at Newegg ("Select Technology Providers") Amex Offer.

7/17: Purchased $200 (w/$9.95 fee) and $100 (w/$5.95 fee) Vanilla eVGCs and a $20 Playstation eGC at Newegg. Received the Amex Great news! and Newegg confirmation emails right away. Received an email with links to the eGCs about 1.5 hrs. later.

I already had an existing Newegg account, so maybe that's why I didn't experience any problems.

Amex charge eventually posted dated 7/17. $100 statement credit posted dated 7/18.

7/18: "Registered" the eVGCs with my zip code. Used the two eVGCs ($300) at Sam's for two packs of the $150 Disney GCs (together priced at $289.96).

The price of $300 eVGCs was $315.90, with 30% back of $94.77. If we subtract out the fee from the statement credit, that's still a 26.3% return on the $300 eVGC. The $300 eVGC bought $300 Disney GCs for $289.96, a 3.3% discount, with a balance of $10.04 left over on an eVGC. [I probably should've gotten 4x$75 since the discount is a little better.] So the net discount is still close to 30% off even with the fee on the eVGCs because of Sam's discount on the Disney GCs.

My SC membership was about to expire, so I picked up a new membership to set up for DW from Groupon for $32, which included a $10 SC eGC and a $25 SC eGC after a first purchase of $25+ (net $3!). I paid for the SC membership voucher with a $30 Groupon eGC purchased from Gyft for 5x UR on the CIC/PayPal (150 URs!), and $2 on my BBP. I also went through Ebates for 8% back when shopping at Groupon and got $2.56 back in MR. I'm going to roll those $10+$25 SC eGCs with the $10.04 left on a eVGC (totaling $45.04) towards a $50 Disney GC (priced at $47.98). I'll pay for the $2.94 with one of my pile of VGCs.

7/19: Email confirmation from Sam's that the Disney GCs shipped.

Forgot that Staples deal starts today. Think I'll stop on the way home and use my new CIP, then use it on Plastiq right away.... May see if I can get away with one a day (lucky for me Staples is on the way home). Maybe take DH with in case they check IDs and knock out the last bit on his CIP. And if Dosh would credit, that would be a bonus

Thanks for the info! I’m actually leaning towards a disney cruise. We could use something pretty relaxing. We don’t have any discounted gcs stocked up so we would maybe just have to cash out some chase points or pay OOP.

You can stock up a bit now with Target (5%) and 5% from RMN. I've been buying a bit for our next ABD, which may be sooner than I was anticipating. I'm happy with 10% back. I've done much better but that's how this game goes (how I miss the days of Happy cards from Office Depot used at HD and BBB with Dosh and RMN).

MS! For example when staples runs the fee free visas its 5x with the CIC I can MS 20,000 a month with serve. That’s 100,000 URs for free! I also bought 25,000 worth of of GCs at the grocery store with my Amex Gold card that is 100,000 MRs which I cashed out for $1250. Working on my SOs Gold card right now.

By this point it's just a given that if I'm going to try something new I'm going to mess it up. I wanted to order a serve card and somehow ordered a blue one. So I also ordered a green one. Can I cancel the blue when it gets here, or do I just not activate it?

Is the new lion king movie good? Hearing mixed reviews. I’m wanting to see it but news wasn’t saying very positive reviews. Trying to figure when we can see it before DH surgery

If you want to start with serve I wouldn’t start with a MasterCard gift card id wait until the visa ones go on sale and start slow don’t go out and buy 20,000 a month like me lol you should be able to build up to that tho FL seems MS friendly.

Ah okay. Maybe this hasn’t really been relevant to us because we don’t have a CIC or other cards that get the category spending from office stores. I haven’t been paying attention to the serve stuff but I’m thinking I might need to start looking at that

The CIC and Amex Gold are my favorite cards for MS and the ebates credit card lol. It used to be the CIP but that stopped coding correctly. We have lots of new people trying out MS with serve and lots of people are having success with it. Just start slow lol

My delta flight was overbooked last November. At checkin they asked if I was willing to take a bump and offered $200, $400, $500, etc. I read online to take the lowest amount as you'll be the first person they contact. I got $1000 amex card for taking the bump. They said I was the happiest person they ever saw removed from a plane, LOL.

I'm confused. If you said yes to $200, how did you end up with $1000?

American was offering a lot to bump people on our St Lucia flight in June, but no one was taking it. I never seem to get those offers when I am solo and likely to take them!

Thanks for the info about doing DL and Hawaii in a week. I didn’t even think to do it all in one week. I think we decided we’re probably gonna do a Disney cruise and hope for a good Florida resident discount. I did save your info though to my google doc so I can look at it later.
