I tried at self checkout and they didn’t auto drain.
Hm, interesting. It's been a while since I had one so maybe I misremember or something changed. I'll keep that in mind.

BJs used to have food places in the stores but when I moved to RI, I have yet to find one that does. Maybe they just don't have them here but it would be nice for something quick.

They took out the food courts here in the last couple years. Just space for extra carts or whatever now. I never managed to snag anything from them as they were always out of food when I needed something after using my lunch hour for a BJ's run. Then on the last one I only needed a few things so my plan was to hit it first and be that person carrying around a hot dog while shopping and the food court was closed  Few weeks/couple months later and all the equipment and whatnot was moved out and just a blank space that's been sitting there since. Happened at all 3 around the same time. Maybe it's just a regional thing then if it didn't happen everywhere.

Was this a 2nd Great Southern account for the same person? One checking, one savings? Or just P1 and P2?

I tried to use my Citi AA Biz to fund a Great Southern checking acct. I had lowered my cash advance limit to $100 first. I got an email from the bank that it couldn't be funded due to insufficient funding. I called the bank and they tried to run it again, same message. My credit limit was $7000 so I think it would have coded as cash advance. Anyone else try it with Citi?

I have 3 local BJs here in MA - one has a Dunkin Donuts, another has a Subway and the other has nothing. Neither food outlet ever seems that busy....unlike the costco food place.

Ugh. Deleting/unsubscribing from some emails out of my crap email account. Idk why I bother since I send all junk email, store emails, etc there. I have a bunch from Harbor Freight, and I'm deleting/unsubscribing thinking there's no way I signed up for this unless it was through swagbucks. The unsubscribe page comes up, AND IT HAS MY FATHER'S NAME 😡 😡 😡 He gave them my freakin' email instead of his own. That just makes me angry.

Anyways.

Also noticed I have a Bonbon email in there that says I have 2500 points. What the heck... I may have signed up for a rewards account many moons ago on this email... but all of my ones since starting churning have been with my newer email. But this one should definitely not have points in it, any trace I may have earned would have been long expired... I reset the password, logged in, and it's 2500 from Dolphin from last October. Our reservation last Sept reverted back to my maiden name with the program merge, so I think it has to do with skipping housekeeping. Maybe at check in they linked it to this old account since it would have come up as Malone. Guess I'll see if I can get those transferred over.

I always close my old cards before applying for new ones. I know others that don't, but I just think it's cleaner and easier (and if I ever had to go to recon, I didn't want to have an issue with already holding the card). I close my cards around the 65 day mark about a month before applying for my next one.
On this note... since you need an AA card for the better pricing, does the Barclays AA Biz fulfill that need? It seems like it should.

it looks like I have about 9 more personal cards that I can get from Amex. So in 14 months ill be done with them for 7 years ugh what am I going to do without Chase and Amex.
This is what I sounded like back in 2016 when I decided to get my wife back under 5/24. I just didn't want to embrace being a churner who jumped from random credit union card to local bank card.

Interesting point there... I hadn't thought about that, like what if I get denied for the next one, lol!

You only need the card to get better pricing on UseAAmiles - everybody gets the same pricing on AAvacations. Of course for any non-Disney hotels, UseAAmiles is typically the way to go...
Your post made me think, maybe ILs hotel in California would be on the AA portal and be a better deal than say, a Hilton card. Nope. That one random DT in the whole darn LA area doesn't come up for any dates I put in so far. :badpc:

oh, ill do that it just isn't as profitable.

hmmm I'm down for the random credit union and local bank cards lol I have done TD, BMO, and PNC already and BBVA.

For those wondering - Hershey was phenomenal. (I know many others have already said that here though).

We were fortunate to have great weather both days (we left around 5pm yesterday just as some thunderstorms were rolling in). We definitely picked some slower days (I'd assume Mon-Thurs on a non 4th of July week are your best bets!). Monday was slightly busier than Tuesday but on both days we practically walked on to numerous roller coasters. I think at one point yesterday we rode Lightning Racer (fairly new wooden coaster) 4 times in a row with our wait only being as long as it took us to run back up the ramp! I think my longest wait yesterday may have been for a bacon cheeseburger (don't get me started) :lmao:

We stayed at a Springhill about 1/2 hour away to use our 25k cert on Sunday. Monday night we stayed at the Fairfield Hershey using a 35k cert. It was great for all 10 hours we spent there, haha!

I’ve had to seriously curb my Disney souvenir cups, Disney and tiki mugs, and Starbucks You Are Here mugs addiction. I now have way too many that are not being used and I’m out of space!

DH collects the You Are Here mugs. He doesn't drink out of them though, we just have a large number of them sitting on top of our cupboard where we keep our dishes haha. He gets one every time he goes somewhere new. It's about the only Disney souvenir he purchases at the parks.

There was a guy on r/churning who was compiling a list of every local bank offer - was that bank bonuses or CCs (or both)? I can't remember lol.

The challenge with that route is not having enough data to know how they (a) treat people out of market and (b) treat "churners" with lots of accounts and inquiries.
