Well if you want some more fun details:

You're 49th in the "positive score only" category. However if we go with the "raw" score (which includes downvotes) you move up to 45th (which means some of the people above you probably get downvoted more than you).

I'm at 10th in "positive" and 11th in "raw". What I find pretty cool about my stat is that I garnered 2,000+ karma on just 261 comments @ 7.9 karma per comment. (You are at a 4.8 per comment which is pretty darn good!)

Of course our friend Andy is in 3rd in both categories and also has an impressive 7.6 karma per comment (vs. the top 2 who are at 2.2 and 3.0 respectively.

I'd challenge people familiar with r/churning to guess who is on top of the karma pile...it may surprise you...It used to always be OJ but he's slid down to 4th now...

Points is the obvious number one. That guy is just a volume shooter. He’s probably #1 by a large margin. Unsure on #2. Clearly someone who posts a lot (roughly 2.5x more than me) but still gets lots of votes. Maybe loblomom (or whatever that name is)?

7.6?! Well let’s be real @Andysol uses his adorable kids and wonderful wife for all that karma love :rotfl2:

OJ is in 4th? Wow. Although he has slowed down since the 1099s came out... 🤣 I really don’t have a decent guess for who is at the top of this Pile of Insanity right now!
Milking that karma Pluto... you know how it is. :)

Honestly, I’ve been making a push to make the sub a bit more personal and anecdotal here and there. Not only as a reminder that there are people and families on the other side of that user name, but also because it makes it a bit more of a community. So part of putting my family out there is because of that. I’m not worried about privacy that much. My Instagram is Andysol1983 as an example. :rotfl2:

I don’t mind the attitude sometimes as it is important for organization; but as long as people aren’t jerks, I’m fine with it. Points and I actually get along very well. That guy PMs me a ton. For a philly guy, he isn’t so bad. Hah

Points me to the miles?

You would be CORRECT! Dude has a lot to say, is often controversial but he does have the most karma of anybody
I was going to guess Pizzy for positive karma cuz his raw score has to be kind of middling with the amount of down votes he generates in a day. I don't generally down vote him, there's enough people to do that, but it does kill me a little giving him an upvote when I agree with him - he does know some good stuff, even if he's an ****** most of the time.

Eta: too funny, we can give someone the middle finger but "a" dash "hole" gets sensored still. :confused3
My actions there are not a reflection whatsoever of my feelings towards this group. I would never stop helping newbies and friends here. r/churning is setup the way it is for a reason. It works. And if left unchecked, it could ruin churning for everybody. Reddit is full of idiots who have no antenna for how to responsibly churn. They will call the CEO, they will ask AMEX about their airline GC reimbursement and they will not rest until they get every loophole shutdown due to their selfish and irresponsible behavior.

My actions there are to protect the game that we love!! Luckily the size of our group AND the type of people that we attract make is such a better place to learn and help people. And I don’t imagine that ever changing!

EDIT: And I should add to that list that they will post step by step guides in a public forum of how to abuse loopholes which will be read by employees of the card issuers and SHUT DOWN. You all remember PNC bank funding, right? I told you how that got shut down... and I'm pretty sure it was all the blatant discussion about it on r/churning.
And today was a better example of what will ultimately happen than yesterday. I actually thought it'd take until later in the week to get past the crud and let the unintentional crud shine forth. The 'i like the Purge' posts were very premature. Did you see how fast we got a MDD question post this morning and it's subsequent rapid removal? (Pretty sure it's removed, don't think I accidentally hid it or anything) Unfortunately you can't just tell someone this is the best thing, most times they have to feel it for themselves. It's not a bad thing to revisit different concepts, sometimes something that wasn't viable before can be now if the environment has sufficiently changed. At the very least it'll show the people wanting the Purge that with great power comes great responsibility... and most of Reddit has not sufficiently changed for the better and cannot handle that kind of responsibility.

I saw that too!

I was also thinking it'd be a better deal to redeem for Apple products to resell!
I just checked my UR account. You can put any amount in the "Enter Cash Back Amount" box and it does not change the "Redeem for Apple products" box. Misleading blog post.

It makes me feel better that I hadn't wasted all those URs on flights at 1.5x. LOL

Oh HELOC how I love you!! My payment posted today for the $4,465 I had spent to hit my wife's Citi Biz #2 MSR. The bank backdated the payment to Friday (as the check showed up Saturday) and so I paid $2.20 interest for the 3 days I had the money borrowed.

Again I say...Oh HELOC how I love you!!

This is the kind of MSing I could get behind if I could get a heloc on my rental but since I don't live in it I don't think I can not that I've done research it's just something I read somewhere recently.

cowsareeverywhere is #2 - funny enough, I don't know of any regulars on r/churning that I have an issue with!

Wait...I take that back...BPLTurner rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

We will only be there 2.5 days, so mainly food, shows (lain and others have mentioned the Cirque shows as must dos), and any landmarks? Looks like we may we staying at Bellagio, so that would check off the fountains, if so :)

@platamama also, going to Vegas here :wave2: did you ever get an answer to your question about Chase Luxury bookings and Casears Diamond? I would be curious about the same, but scanning through I don't think I saw an answer yet?

Are you going to rent a car? There are a lot of great things to do outside of the strip. Taking a drive around Red Rock Canyon is a great drive for nature if you do have one. Hoover dam is also really awesome. Neon museum I recommend if you are a fan of old Vegas (night tour is great to see all the old signs lit up). Mob Museum is also worth it if you are interested in that.

As for shows on the strip, Absinthe is the main one all the locals go crazy over. It's not as expensive as the Cirque shows, but just as good (some say it's even better). The Cirque shows are great, but you will have varying opinions as to which one is the best as they all have specific "themes" My favorite is LOVE as I am a big big Beatles fan. La Reve (not the Cirque brand but similar) and O are probably a close second as the "water stage" is really neat. Both O and Le Reve are very unique shows, and something you will unlikely find anywhere else so I usually suggest those to people coming, however they are really expensive tickets. We just recently saw Carrot Top and me and SO were shocked at how funny it was (if you are into his kind of comedy). Very underrated IMO.

As for food on the strip, hands down the best buffet in Vegas is Baccanal at Cesars Palace. It's a pricey buffet, but very quality food with crab legs. The Buffet at the M Resort is "technically" on the strip but about a 20-25 minute drive from the main hotels as it is on the edge of the city. The M resort has a really good seafood buffet on the weekends IIRC that has crab legs etc. and includes all you can drink beer/wine. It's not as expensive as Baccanal, but still has quality food. Besides buffet food, Lotus of Siam is one of the top rated Thai restaurants in the country, Hell's Kitchen is the popular restaurant that has been getting rave reviews with local critics, and $20-$30 all you can eat table service sushi is a popular thing here (not on the strip).

Most of the "landmarks" are on the strip, so you will have no problem with that. The welcome to Las Vegas sign seems like it's on the strip, but it's pretty far (definitely would recommend a car or Uber). You can do Freemont... they have a lot of really hip bars after-hours, but it's not everyones cup of tea.

Yeah... the plurality of r/churning doesn't strike me as guys who have or are even ready for families.

FYI - for those planning to use the HELOC / Plastiq strategy: it's possible that if you hit it TOO hard you could get unwanted scrutiny from Plastiq

I stumbled on this comment while researching something about HELOC earlier today. Figured I'd share it here. Now, apparently this guy was doing volume to the tune of $1 MILLION on his HELOC. So uhhh nobody here is probably doing that. That said, I figured it was still worth sharing. I think he was majorly abusing the Plastiq promos and/or glitches.

As long as plastiq doesn't get messed up before I get a chance to use it. The only way I can meet the higher MSR's in my future is to buy MC gc and pay my mortgage. Luckily my mortgage is only $400 a month so I can buy a $500 card and be good, put the rest towards my car ins and rinse repeat each month gets me $1500 in addition to other stuff.

And they found tenants for my house so I only lost a month and whatever the cleaning and stuff added up to, yay! And they raised the rent to $695 which is great too. They take 10% but it'll be nice to get some extra since it was $650 the past year.

Here were a couple of gems from today on the purge:

(This guy was something special!)
(I actually PMed this guy and gave him a ton of help)
(WOW so many bad decisions so early in the game...)
(you'd think this was a troll but no...just a newbie who stumbled into r/churning today...and @Lain has a REAL gem in there) ;)
(this one has MY favorite comment that I made today, lol)
(this was an interesting one...mainly because the guy who posted it was the same tool who was trying to scam people on referrals a month ago)
