Do you mind sharing how you think you got targeted for the AA biz mailers? I'd love to have either myself or dh receive them (he's a very frequent flyer on AA); all I ever received was personal AA mailers but they seem to have stopped a few months ago.

I have NO idea We flew AA for the first time in more than a decade in March. I created AA accounts for us when dh's company's TA asked us for our numbers, sometime in late January I think. We received the mailers in late May.

This is same for us. My dd really wanted to work at the Disney store but they closed the one by us and it’s 30 mins (in no traffic) to the closest one.

Our closest is Flat Irons. I haven't looked at where any others are here.

I went paperless about a year into churning. Up until then I would take my paper statements that came in the mail and match them to every receipt in my wallet. Now I use YNAB and watch everything come in almost real time. Then every few months I try to go through and download the pdf statements for everything.

Drive by post! When we checked in last night after midnight at the Residence Inn midtown NY, the hostess greeted us with a loud cheery BONVOY BONVOY BONVOY! I nearly died! I had to smile and returned the greeting.

Just boarded BA to Scotland. We are celebrating our first date 25 years ago today which was to see The Lion King. Thus the Pride Rock shirts. BA has new jammies for first class and they are much nicer than the other ones they used to give out.

I kept having to shush DH in line to checkin at Swolphin because he kept saying that

Piggybacking off this, when should you cancel barclays cards/how are they about refunding AFs? Need to cancel mine this month and not sure how and when to do it.

Did you get a letter letting you know when the af is due? It'll tell you how long ypu have to make changes. I think 45 days but I can't remember if it's from.the letter or af posting.

We used to live out far enough that it took us 30 mins to get to a real grocery store. But after finding myself so deep in kids activities but still having littles needing naps, we made the move into town. I miss the quiet of our old place but this stage of life needs conveniences close by! Still no close staples though lol!

When ILs built their house in 89 the closest grocery store was around 84th avenue. They're off 144th ave Now they kind of have the best of both worlds, but they say the stars are nowhere near as bright as they used to be.

Just requested a Disney Chase debit card by SM. Hope that works and I don't have to call. Have had a Chase checking for a long time, didn't know I could get the discount until reading it on here. Thought, oh I'll do it later when we have a trip planned. Then DS's last minute SWGE trip came up and it was too late. So now I'm doing it for DD's trip!

Question - do I actually have to use the debit card for the 10% discount or just show the card?

I think you're supposed to use the card, but when I was there in April I showed my card and asked for a discount at Joffrey's. The clerk entered something in the register. I then asked if I could pay with another card and she let me.

Our closest is Park Meadows. There used to be one at Aspen Grove and at SW Plaza but both closed years ago when the economy tanked. My dd’s we’re in the Park Meadows store last week and said there is park merch in there now (with the outlet tags) so that’s interesting and different than before.

In churning news. When we got home the Hilton Biz I applied for was here. This was the one I thought I was applying for myself but was accidentally logged into DHs account at the time. Anyway it came in his name and the card has his name first and then mine. So I'm assuming its ok just to leave it as his card since it did come in his name.

Sounds like it has your name as the business name. So it's his card, he just named the business after you. Have to decide if you're a boat or a fashion line

You can't do that anymore since IHG free night certs only go up to 40,000 points now. Palazzo is 70,000 points now, sadly.

There's still a possibility for an unrestricted free night from the Select cards for certs that posted before May 2019, but outside of that, yeah no Palazzo on a cert

Would this also keep you from getting the card for another 95 days, or if you don’t earn the SUB, then you can still apply with a mailer before 95 days?

Absolutely agree! We did have lunch at The World’s End pub while we were in Edinburgh. It is mentioned in the books and I believe was in the show. That has been a tradition every time we visit Edinburgh.

I would highly recommend doing an Outlander tour with Hugh Allison, owner of Inverness Tours. He was one of the first to offer Outlander tours way before there was a show. Diana Gabaldon has toured with him as well. He’s a published historian and is an amazing guide. This is our third time touring with him. Our first was a one day Outlander tour. Since then we’ve done multi day tours around different areas of Scotland.

Oh, great information. Thank You! I read the books before the show came out. My poor husband has been a good sport about my Outlander obsession so far. Maybe he will agree to Scotland someday. Realistically probably not for another 5 ish years (just because of kids and other things) but maybe sooner. You never know. For now I will live vicariously and take as many notes as possible.
