I’m about to head to Lowe’s and staples to use my 10% off on my Amex for Disney gift cards.
Does anyone know of a limit at either store?
I usually do around $300 at staples and they always need id and make me feel like a criminal for buying gift cards but I’ve never tried more.
I need $900 today to pay my Disney cruise deposit.

No limit but have seen that ppl get deactive cards for buying too many. YMMV

@Haley R at least you don’t have a copperhead infestation?! Thats what we had this year in our yard! Really though palmetto bugs are gross but for sure just a fact of life here in the south. The good thing is that means they’ll be easier to treat because everyone is used to dealing with them! (Also don’t let it make you think your house is dirty or anything- seriously they are everywhere around everyones house!)

We called the pest people and they’re coming July 1. They said they don’t normally go inside houses but are gonna come look. They said for now not to worry since it’s only one cockroach that we’ve seen

Yes, this happened to me. Tried to buy $900, a couple were smaller Amazon, the rest were large Disney. The only ones that got activated were the Amazon, they had to send me to customer service to refund the amount I was charged for the Disney cards $800 I think, because they were over the daily limit allowed. At least according to their register. They said they didn't know what the limit was, the register decided.

I had no issues with Lowe's and was using DD's card to buy kroger gift cards. I haven't experienced a limit at either store.

Oh also, another question. My Amex Hilton Biz AF posted. I don't think there's any reason to keep the card, am I missing something? No free night certs or great offers, right? Do I have a set amount of time to cancel it? I got a popup on my last Amex app about 6 months ago but haven't tried for any others since. I don't want to keep it just to try to get out of Amex jail. I kept my SPG Biz (don't know the new name) for the free night cert and don't want to give Amex any more of my money right now. TIA!

I'm trying to decide about this too. DH and I both have one and his is AF due now and mine is next month. I am going to cancel mine I think. We don't need 2. I just can't decide if I want to take up the */24 spot for him to open a personal and close the biz. And if so, which personal to get..ascend and hope for upgrade offer later or app for aspire right off the bat. Decisions, decisions.

Received an update on the Amex connection issue.

They've received multiple reports of connection issues and are working with their import partner. While they hope it will be fixed within a couple of days, it could take a couple of weeks depending on the complexity. What the what?! Don't they know I'm working on Amex MSR and need to track every transaction in realtime (or as close to real as YNAB is). Ugggg. I use mint as a back-up but it's not my official tracking tool. So frustrating.

I finally got my accounts to relink!

Got super excited when I checked my last card and saw it! And then deflated when it was 5% back, max $3.50. May possibly still think about it since it is the CFU and it's linked to Dosh already.

I'm still waiting for a Staples GC sale to use my $25 AmEx offer. Wouldn't mind the free $200 MC one again and split it between the two. I'm greedy that way.

I'm wanting it too. I almost bought it from Hot Topic at 30% off but I didn't move fast enough and they sold out. My b-day is coming up and I told my dh I wanted the waffle maker for my b-day. However, like all other b-day gifts, if there is something I want, I really should just buy it myself

I usually do that and wrap it up, hand it to him and say, here is my bday gift. At least I know I am getting something I want.

@PolyRob I think you were the one that talked to me about magic bands yesterday. Disney has released some of the premium ones again. I ordered dh’s because he wanted darth Vader. I thought there was one with all of the snacks. Can anyone remember if that’s right? If so, it’s not showing up but I think they’re slowly adding them back in

Welcome to Florida. That was the first thought that crossed my mind when you said you were sitting on your lanai last night. I never venture outside to sit after dark in the southeast. Thats the only thing I don't miss about Charleston...disgusting palmetto bugs. Gag.
