Yes we got charged for us even though we didn’t eat because we were there. I asked to be credited the dining credits but the restaurant and pofq desk wouldn’t do it.

The gift card was a fiasco. Instead of my kids remembering their first 5k race they remember the lost gift card. I really kept my cool in front of them. Had it not been for their presence I would have caused a scene. After spending all afternoon and the next day working with guest services and dvc I was able to get my card info. I normally have my cards loaded in the gift card site well I had deleted this one to add another one and forgot about it. So I didn’t have a copy of the number. By the time I got the number $300 was used and I still had to pay for our meals. So in all I was out $590 and it created memories that shouldn’t be remembered. Sad my kids still talk about it after a year. They even told people outside in March don’t have Grace and cancel your reservation.

She had said I never gave her the gift card. The manger did nothing and said we still had to pay for our meals. I was furious but after dealing with it for 2 hours I didn’t want the kids to miss out on any more time in the park so I paid for the meals.

Wow, just, wow :scared1:
Not sure what you could do now for the GC but I would have totally called the cops for that. Either through intent or negligence that server stole/allowed to be stolen money straight up.

If you haven't done so already you should really write about those 3 incidents to Disney because the allergy unaccomodation and outright theft are totally unacceptable. I can't imagine Disney wants that out there and I hope they do something in an effort to make it right. Offhand I'm having a hard time finding the email address for Guest Relation, which is usually where complaints go. But here's the corporate email, TWDC.Corp.Communications@Disney.com, and the web form that pops up for guest relations email inquires, https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/help/email/

Sorry you had such trying episodes on what otherwise seemed like a fun trip.

Yeah we already decided we will be going with chase. We are getting our house loan with them too. They offered us the best interest rate. I feel like my whole life revolves around them now lol.

Why can't you deposit cash at the ATM? Do they not all do that? I just did it last week. I never go into a bank. There is an ATM outside my office building so if I need to do something bank related I just do it there.

Thank you!!!! Same here. I checked at some point yesterday and it wasn't there. They ninja-ed it in there. 61 days from the email. I went back and calculated @Alexle2007 's timeline and 62 days there as well. Ugh, having to wait 60 days is crazy if this is the new norm.

For Amex, I guess. I have 3 SPG cards with them...I mean Bonvoy, and 2 with Chase. Chase are day off. So now I'll just calculate getting them 2 months late - I went March 2 to May 2 = 61 days, but it came so late I could call it 62. Essentially 9 weeks. The email did say 8-12 weeks and I guess they are early by their definition.

Add me to the club, I turned 41 yesterday. I'm not that hip though I guess, I've never heard of using Gucci other than the brand!

Lol, I have a 40 year old daughter. Also one 26 and I guess neither is hip because although I've heard the term, neither would use it.
I do have a dog that came with the name, and I quickly changed it.

Thinking about getting my dd18 the SW plus at the increased offer. She is planning a couple trips later this year on her own and she could really use the SW points. Here are her cards:

07/18 Discover IT
12/18 CFU
12/18 Amex gold (AU)
02/19 CIP

Her credit score is 780'ish. Do you think she has a chance? She has summer tuition coming up so she could meet 3/4 of the MSR easily.

My DD20 app'd for the Marriott card and was denied. Reasons included too much credit extended (she has a Discover 2018 and a university credit union visa 2017, AU on my Capital one and CF) and credit score 763.
Maybe SW is easier?

Yeah I wrote them as well as called. They did nothing unfortunately

@miztressuz - my free night (Marriott SPG card) has finally posted - dated 5/2 - I see it this morning 5/3.

Today was apparently THE DAY for these. I got mine too- already applied it to a good/insanely boring redemption. We are flying out of the San Jose airport on an early flight, so our last night of our CA trip will be at a Spring Hill Suites at the San Jose Airport, which would have cost $550 for the night!!! Way more than any of the other (much nicer) hotels that we are staying at during our trip. Shows the difference between mid-week and weekend in the Bay Area. No question that its a good use for a 35k certificate!

Yikes! At the very least, I am going to try to take pictures of the cards I am carrying. I haven't dealt with the gift card combining site and have preferred to keep them all small and separate, but, last year I had a few $500 ones that bothered me a bit before I applied them to my DVC dues.

Usually I will go into a park with maybe $50 in gift cards unless I have a particular plan to pay for something, but I lock others in the safe, leave em hanging in my purse, throw them on the table, lose them in the car. I'm not overly careful with them. But that said I also leave actual cash laying around as well, but not much.

Garden grill at EP- moving restaurant sometimes doesn’t rotate. We have only done breakfast here and it’s been good. Characters are fun and chip and dale played games with the kids. Family style but had no problem getting more of certain foods. We eat here every couple of trips.
Have you noticed what times it's not rotating? Towards the end of breakfast? We did a late breakfast last weekend and noticed around 10:30 or so it stopped... the table next to us asked and they said it was to restock the kitchen. When we left they were taking carts up and had the kitchen door closer to the ramp.

Thank you all for the kind words and concerns - DH got the results of his MRI and the nodule that was found was benign.

Like @1st*toright I will apparently have a lot of spend to reimburse myself with... gotta love an HSA I guess. :rolleyes2 I am blessed to have the funds to do this and I feel for those who do not.

@Lain - I loved your post about your dreams for a Japan trip. I do not have kids but I would wait until your DD is a little older too - it's a long flight and a lot of money/points. You want to make sure she remembers it/enjoys it as you say.

I am always so impressed with all the trips everyone takes here - and that they take their kids. I never got to go on any vacations as a kid. My parents did not have the money. So now I am trying to make up for lost time I guess.

@calypso726 Thank you for sharing the prices for ABD Egypt. Maybe someday! Although when I told DH this trip was announced, he said "Oh are they taking armed guards wearing Mickey ears?" I just shook my head.

I took a vacation day today for mental health. Hopefully I can catch up more here!

Same here, using it at a Fairfield in Hershey on a Saturday night in the middle of summer. So return on the redemption is good - $300 room for $95 - but crazy and boring at the same time.
If I was really going for highest return I would have picked the Courtyard down the road that's going for $500 that night, but I'm not sure why? Doesn't even get free breakfast

I'm not sure how useful this dp is, but it was news to me. I used the Walmart Pay app in-store because I had some gift cards linked. My purchase amount went over the gc's so the app paid the rest with the cc I had stored, BoA Cash Rewards. It coded as online shopping, so I got the 3% plus my preferred rewards bonus.

I was told they had to stop for maintenance one time. And then another time it was for a make a wish kid that was getting motion sickness.

DH’s CIP is now closed and the AF was reversed. The statement close would have been 5/15 but he closed the card April 30. How long should he wait to apply for another CIP?

Do all ATM's accept deposits for non-account holders? I thought I saw some banks that won't accept deposits at the ATM unless you had an account there, or part of their partner network.

What is a considered good utilization rate?

I'd say for most cards/issuers <5%, but Amex likes to see you actually using their cards regularly and putting high spend on them, and a lot of Amex cards are charge cards with no set credit limit.

@3 DD love princesses I started to quote you but read everything. Just crazy situations. That really sucks that they never did anything at all. And the allergies thing seems crazy too, we are lucky to not deal with them but I've just heard so many about how Disney is so great about that and they never have to worry eating down there. :sad2:

Thanks for the write up! Sounds ok, but probably not worth the price (or staying up that late, which would be a big deal for my family of early birds). We thought that visiting with an EP (staying on site) made the parks totally do-able, so we will probably stick with that again next time.
Yeah, I would maybe think about it if off site and only had a day, something like that. But EP even makes everything do-able in a day for the most part. They released the next event dates the morning of this one... of course  It is two nights and they said that there was special pricing if you signed up that night... of course lol. I didn't catch what a two night ticket was going to run but I did overhear that a one night ticket was the same $186 we paid... if purchased that night (of course!) so I'm expecting it will go up by a bit.
Thank you all for the kind words and concerns - DH got the results of his MRI and the nodule that was found was benign.
Glad it is good news

My dad never got to go anywhere, he was the youngest of 8 and didn't leave the state until he was 16 and took a bus to CO to visit his older brother who had moved out here. So we went somewhere every year, some bigger, some smaller, some several times... Branson, Estes Park, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone, Wisconsin Dells, Okoboji, San Antonio/Corpus Christi, San Diego (only time we flew as a family)...

I was told they had to stop for maintenance one time. And then another time it was for a make a wish kid that was getting motion sickness.
Ahhh. We'd never thought about it until last Friday...

Actually, exactly 7 days ago we were checking in for breakfast
