I just completed an AMEX survey sent to me today. I completely ripped into them for the terrible cash-out value of Membership Rewards vs. Chase URs as well as the way they bait and switch people on signup bonuses. Gave Chase numerous high marks...Honestly, at this point I like Chase because their rules are easy to understand. And obviously I'm falling for Citi too because they also have easy to understand "rules"...

DoC is dishing it out tonight!

I wonder what blog could DoC possibly be referring to? Oh, right...

I’m considering throwing $5k principal payments towards our mortgage to hit these Citi AA biz MSRs (at least 2 and maybe 3-4 of these mailers) so that offer might be down our alley.

The terms of the promo are that the initial 10k needs to be completed by May 31, so there is a time factor in there.

Soooo... it wouldn't be crazy to take a Thurs night flight to MCO, land at 9pm, then take a redeye home Monday night right? Leave just before midnight get into Denver at 5:30am... I have extra vacation, I can take Tuesday off... Frontier to MCO and United to DEN for $97pp, that's pretty tempting lol
Not at all! I did a Friday am flight to Monday pm flight with a split-stay (2 nights Epcot resort, 1 night MK resort) just for some Food & Wine and MNSSHP! It was a great trip and I have the same thing already planned for this year. I say go for it :thumbsup2

Ah, ok. So the CM discount varies?
Is the TIW card good everywhere? Thinking about getting one if we get APs in aug.

Tables of Wonderland is accepted at most places. 20% is nice, but if you qualify for it you also probably qualify for AP/DVC discounts. So look at it closely. It does add tip. It includes alcohol which other discounts don’t so that is something to factor in as well.:(
TiW won't work at some non-Disney owned places like Landry's properties, Mitsukoshi places in Epcot, Planet Hollywood, etc. However, the AP 10% will! The only places TiW is really accepted where the AP discount is not are the value food courts since they do not have TS restaurants. It doesn't work on mugs though. We're not huge drinkers, but I can't pass up some drinks like a sunken treasure or lapu lapu so TiW helps there. We also enjoy HDDR and the Luau so it has helped to get 20% rather than 10% there! Sometimes I order custom cakes and ask for the price to be added to my reservation's bill just so I can save 2% haha

I can usually get 4 trips on one TiW card. Disney usually gives you it for 14/15 months and you can use discounted gift cards to buy it :)

Dredging up an old topic (from all of 2 days ago...) but what's the most troubling about these DPs is that for several cards it's initially coming through as a purchase so it's bypassing the CA limit, but then converting to CA when it posts. Bit of a double whammy there.

When one door closes another opens?

(very early on that one, probably end up YMMV but I'm hoping out of regions works :) )

Thanks! I'll run the math to see if the card makes sense for us. We don't do a ton of TS, or any dinner shows, or buy drinks so sticking with the AP discount may be fine. I'm not sure we could make up the difference.

I’m guessing either @speedyfishy or @wanderlust7 holds the “highest MSRs at once” title in this thread.

LOL! I bet @speedyfishy has me beat. My AmEx run of 8 cards plus a CIC had a total MSR of $41k. If it weren't for having to spread out the AmEx spend, the MSR wouldn't all be at once, lol.

Hilton Biz SUB posted x2 today. Personal Plat yesterday. I'm down to "only" 3 MSRs!

Hold my beer :rotfl:

$40,000 MSR back when the AA Executive card was at $10,000 MSR per card and we got 4 of them the same month. MS was also easier back then.

A word to all the lurkers and newbies...you don’t have to tackle $40k in MSR at one time to be a churner!!! LOL!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Was contemplating this. I could prepay my mortgage and with the FFD I could keep paying at essentially 1.25%. I already have Plastiq do I need to set up a new account? I believe I got this offer too. Hmmmmm.....
