I feel like lots of weird crappy things have been happening lately. Cars stolen, house fires... my aunt went into hospice care on Monday. Now my cousin (different family) just texted me that she hit a deer this morning head on, with her 6 month old in the car. Then the car started on fire. Totally engulfed in flames. They're okay thankfully. Just.... weird.

Oh my gosh that’s scary! I hate driving during deer season. I hit one a couple years ago. Luckily my car barely had any damage but I felt so bad for the deer

I've been lucky enough to not have it happen myself, but I know many who have because that's just the reality of the edge of town and driving to the smaller towns around NE. But she sent me this picture of her car and it's just a giant fireball.

Well...as long as it books Disney still it may suit us.

I mean I'm 4/24 And starting May my cards will fall off so that I will be 0/24 by August. But I do like that AF waived the first year for business cards.

Maybe someone here can chime in on how to use TY points for a disney resort before you open the card. The redemption value may stink. I'm just not sure.

The AA miles are 1cpp (or very close) for Disney so that might be something for you to look into. The AF is waived on the Citi AA biz and personal cards for the first year.

I stayed up late last night and we keep our cat food in the garage. I went out to get food and realized our garage door was still open! I’m glad we live in a cul de sac so people rarely drive by.

I always check our garage door before I go to bed and a lot of times it is still up at midnight. Either one of the teens forget to put it down or it pops back up. It's super sensitive to end just the wind blowing or a snow flurry and back up it goes. Thankfully, we live in a pretty safe area. My house was broken into when I was a kid so I always check all doors before bed.

Full moon and Mercury is in retrograde... We've already had to call the deputies in for one out of control person in our office this week.

I don't put a lot of stock in horoscopes, but I definitely think the crazies come out at the full moon!

Working in hospitals for over 20 years I can vouch for this!

Maybe that's the explanation - a coworker who is generally BSC is in rare form these days. Maybe its the moon...

And I know this statement isn't true, lol.

Well I guess I have an easy way to meet some MSRs. Just switched DD's daycare and they accept credit card with no fee, but it costs $1000 a month It is a new facility walking distance to my work so the convenience is there. At least I won't have to get as many money orders at Walmart!

Update: I just called AmEx and the rep said he'd re-submit my Bonvon Bus. application for approval. He said it could take 2 - 3 days. He called me back a few minutes later and said it had been approved and I should have the card in 3-5 days (he said he wasn't able to expedite it).

Thanks so much @SouthFayetteFan and @Lain and others with invaluable advice! There is no other way we could afford a 10 night stay at Westin Whistler over Christmas / New Years holiday without the points for the room (airfare already booked on Aeroplan). Going to have to have figure out the best way to get our lift tickets (not sure if I can get them on points or if I should buy an annual pass since we'll be skiing 15 days at Whistler next year, if I include winter break). Don't know what I'd do without you!

@calypso726 I can't wait to see your pictures of the Conrad Maldives! Is it sublime? When are you dining at the underwater restaurant?

A few days ago he said he was going to brace himself for the very real possibility that the Dubai portion at the Al Maha would be the truly awesome part of the trip. Although we just got here tonight, I think he may be right. We have a lunch reservation at Ithaa, the underwater restaurant on Saturday.

I can't remember for sure... I'm thinking a Hyundai Sonata. DH said the fuel line probably got knocked loose hitting the deer and then the pump didn't go off like it should have... that's his expert opinion based on the photo lol. I think it was just bad luck with the fire. Darn you, Mercury!

So most days on the Dis, I don’t go outside this thread. I’ve ventured to the cruise board and read there but don’t post much because there are a few very snarky people there. So I hang here more. But I just ventured out looking for a little more info on Flower and Garden since we’ll be there soon (4 days!) and found two very relevant current threads. The first about having a Landry’s Card and not needing an ADR for Yak&Yeti. Never been there and no ADRs available so a reported 5 minutes wait without an ADR, I’m in. Secondly a Flower and Garden thread which mentioned an app with menus and wishlists, etc. Already downloaded and off to play with it (instead of packing or sleeping as I should be.)
