:offtopic:So I'm in a quandary. I sent my check payment to Chase last Monday. Nothing received yet. Payment is due tomorrow so will be doing an electronic payment to them. The thing is with M&T bank wants a $35 stop payment fee for that check otherwise that money can only sit in my account until maybe one day the check is found and cashed...I just don't feel like paying m*t this money to stop a check payment. And yes can't undo the paper check use and snail mail. But definitely will rethink it for future. :rolleyes2

Amex has closed So's Green card and the Delta Personal Card he just got approved for. The letter stated he had another card that was not maintained in accordance with the cardmember agreement. Spent an hour on the phone with Amex asking what card and what part of the agreement. Got no answers and kept getting transferred to people that knew nothing. Just filed a CFBP complaint. My second one. The first time a Chase agent said I would be getting a refund of the annual fee for a card. I didn't. they got back to me saying yeah we listened to the recording where the agent said that but too bad she was wrong lol. Hopefully, I have more success this time.

I should probably know the answer to this, but how long does it take for the Chase Hyatt bonus points to post? It's showing my husband earned the 40k bonus on his statement dated March 8 (along with regular spend points), but the points haven't shown up in his Hyatt account yet. His account shows points posted from regular spend dated Jan 8 and Feb 8. I wasn't checking at that point though so I don't know how long after statement close they actually showed up.

We are planning to use the points to book a trip to Omaha in May for niece's high school graduation. Yeah this was a late hatched plan. There is still availability, I'm not too worried about it, but would like to get it booked.

DW met the MSR earlier this month, and the Hyatt Points posted to her WoH account 2 days after statement close.

So I just sent a referral link to my wife for the Chase Business Pref Ink card. She is currently at 4/24 and has the SW Business card which was opened in October 2018 and spend was already met. Should I lower the CL on that card/Cancel that card to have a better chance at having a second Business card approved? Not sure if it matters but my existing Ink card and the referral are both using SSN for the accounts and not EIN. Hopefully that question makes sense!

Well yesterday was fun. My minivan was stolen sometime Monday night right out of the driveway! They broke into my husband’s car too and our best guess is that they found the spare key in his console because it’s not in its usual place in the kitchen drawer (and yes DH feels terrible about that and learned a lesson). Who steals a 10 year old minivan with 3 crumb laden car seats? We are used-car-drive-them-till-they-die people so here’s hoping they find her somewhere in decent enough shape. Buying a new car was not in the churning plan.

Oh my, that is just crazy! I never lock my car doors, ugh. Just a bad habit I need to change! Sorry this happened to you.

MR to Hawaiian during a 25% transfer bonus? I’m seeing first class lie-flat seats from BOS>HNL for 130k HawaiianMiles one-way, which seems to me like a pricey use of MR, but it is nonstop and Hawaiian has a great first class product. That’s 104k MR > 130k HA miles, per person, each way, during a transfer bonus. (For reference, I’m seeing the cash price for first class seats departing on random Fridays next January and February going for $1,864, which would make this redemption worth about 1.8 cpp if you can transfer MR to HA during a 25% transfer bonus.) I’m seeing economy award seats for 17.5k HawaiianMiles each way though, which I think is a great price, but I don’t know how you feel about being in economy on an 11 hrs. 35 mins. nonstop flight even if Hawaiian feeds you and serves complimentary alcohol.

(Relatedly, Hawaiian Airlines has a credit card that offers 60k HA miles for, I believe $2k MSR. The in-flight offer might be an MSR of just one purchase, but that doesn’t do you any good getting the miles to get onboard the flight in the first place. The card is issued by Barclays, so I can’t say whether you’ll be approved or not. The big value we get from the card is the cardholder can receive transfers of HA miles from anyone for free, so we end up pooling all our HA miles with my wife who has this card. It also comes with a free checked bag if pay for your ticket (and I think just the taxes count too) with the card.)

There might be some good MR>Delta redemptions, but I don’t have any experience booking or flying with Delta. I recall @calypso726 flew first class from DFW>OGG last year on AA, but I’m not sure how she booked it.

@CyndiLouWho and @MrPTato

I did book lie flat seats on AA via a connection in DFW. Once it was to OGG like @Lain mentioned and once to HNL. I’ve used both AA miles, AA gift cards and Citi TYP to book these flights. I know there are other carriers that have lie flat seats on certain routes. The way I found mine was by scouring the interwebs for every article I could find on Hawaii and lie flat seats with miles. Fortunately, it’s a topic that has been covered by several bloggers. The trick is making sure the information is still valid. I’m sure there are articles out there discussing Korean as a UR transfer partner to fly Delta which is no longer an option. I also know there are some current blog posts in the subject that I’ve read recently. The Wi-Fi here in the Maldives is on island time and kinda slow or I’d search an link them. Always double check seat guru too when looking at an award flight. Hope this helps.

Back in late Feb it was mentioned on here to see if your May FP bookings opened early. I quickly checked, b/c I was busy at the time, and didn't see mine open, and promptly forgot about it. Fast forward to yesterday, I find the thread on TP forum about it and try again. It worked! Apparently, it didn't work before, b/c I had the march trip and you have to call a help desk to over ride some issue if you are an AP with 2 upcoming trips in 60 days. Well now that the march trip is over it worked and I booked my FP for May a few days before my official window. I got everything on a perfect schedule, as was even able to add my parents and boys...who are non AP. It took a lot of tries and probably over an hour, but I got it all to go through eventually. Whoohooo! Just a PSA for those of you whose dates are within the next 75 days...apparently that is the window. Give it a few tries if you don't succeed at first.
OMG thank you so much! It worked! We got Slinky Dog!:banana: Totally thought we would be doing that one standby.

Yes. But the way it works is so weird. When I selected our party in the app & pressed continue, the calendar showed March for a second and then quickly went forward to May on its own. It looked like a glitch but it definitely worked. The FPs are still there.
interesting, as the big thread on that basically concluded the glitch is over, no one has been able to get them today. I got all my dd's last week, thank goodness.

Totally something I would do!
I left my car (MB, not that it matters) unlocked WITH the keys in it parked for an hour and a half in front of DD's high school which is in a rough part of town. I swear angels were watching over this airhead because it was in the same place as I left it.

About a month ago, I went into Publix and left the car running for a good 10 minutes, sigh.

Better to be lucky than smart some days!

This is my daughter -- my husband says she is "cursed by good luck." Latest example -- she left her purse in her Uber ride and it gets returned to her. She has lost her passport and had someone track her down to return it. People return library books to the library that she leaves in random places.

I feel special :cloud9: :rotfl:

I also might have started setting up for our potential ride challenge...

It was hard to decide whether to book FoP or Slinky for this but Slinky never reaches the wait times of FoP & doesn't have an 18 hour preshow.

Depends what % of household income her credit limits are with Chase both business and personal cards....
To increase chances of instant approval I have seen it recommended they should be less than 50%.....
Personally I’ve lowered mine to around 25%
