I should probably know the answer to this, but how long does it take for the Chase Hyatt bonus points to post? It's showing my husband earned the 40k bonus on his statement dated March 8 (along with regular spend points), but the points haven't shown up in his Hyatt account yet. His account shows points posted from regular spend dated Jan 8 and Feb 8. I wasn't checking at that point though so I don't know how long after statement close they actually showed up.

We are planning to use the points to book a trip to Omaha in May for niece's high school graduation. Yeah this was a late hatched plan. There is still availability, I'm not too worried about it, but would like to get it booked.
Same happening to me. Exactly same dates and 43k for me. Chase says they sent them. Hyatt shows and says zero. March 8th. February worked fine.

:offtopic: but I'm pretty sure there's at least one other person in here that sews. Can someone please get my grandma's voice out of my head. I'm making some ears so the fabric will never get washed therefore I don't need to wash and then iron the fabric before I start. Right? Rationally I know there's no worry of colors bleeding or something shrinking later because they'll never go in the wash but I can't get the "guilt" out of my head for not washing it first.

Sorry guys, I know most/all of you won't understand this unless you had a mom/grandma that sewed. :earsboy:

I don't sew anymore but the only things I actually washed were cotton fabrics that had a possibility of shrinking up to 10-20% when washed. Such as the kind of fabric I used in quilting squares. I would never wash a velvet or satiny type fabric. Also many fabrics have come preshrunk for years now.

My 40year old DD had all hand made dresses when she was little and we lived in Texas because there was nowhere to shop!

Then I created her 'special' dresses as she got older.

When she was in high school and actually buying her own stuff, she asked me to make her 2 different prom dresses and a white dress for a special ceremony. As she got older she asked for more but I eventually gave it up because there is so much that can be bought now and my fingers have a certain amount of arthritis.

Now she wants dresses for her little ones, and I say go look on Etsy!

Let me know if you gets this resolved. Hyatt said they would open a case. Chase kinda dropped the ball on my phone calls.

Ah! Sorry this is happening to you, but happy to hear I'm not alone! So are they looking into it? My husband works late the next 2 nights, I'm going to have to find a time he can call, or I'll just call and pretend to be him. I know all his security questions/answers.

It's not that cost effective any more either unless you chasr the sales and coupons. It's crazy to me how much some of the fabric, nevermind the patterns cost.

In churning news I got my bonus points for when I referred my sister for the CFU. Now she wants to go for the current CSP offer. I told her to wait 30 days...

Well, in actual cc news, dh was instantly approved for a Citi AA personal card. If he gets all the matches and gets the Barclay aviator that I sent in verification info for, he will have 185k AA miles. If I get my matches, I will have 197k AA miles. It's enough for us to just about cover 5 nights at Pop (2 rooms) and 4 nights at YC (2 rooms). Not a bad deal since I just got on the grAAvy train 2 mos ago!

I just received a offer via mail for a Citi Premier Card. 50k points after $3000 spend. Is this one of the cards for the grAAvy train?

It's a personal card. Do the business cards have AF's?

Sweet tea trumps 'em both!

Ordered sweet tea at a Southern style restaurant in Atlantic city and couldn't drink it. Too sweet for me. Had to have my regular sweet Pepsi. :drinking1

Update: I just called AmEx and the rep said he'd re-submit my Bonvon Bus. application for approval. He said it could take 2 - 3 days. He called me back a few minutes later and said it had been approved and I should have the card in 3-5 days (he said he wasn't able to expedite it).

Thanks so much @SouthFayetteFan and @Lain and others with invaluable advice! There is no other way we could afford a 10 night stay at Westin Whistler over Christmas / New Years holiday without the points for the room (airfare already booked on Aeroplan). Going to have to have figure out the best way to get our lift tickets (not sure if I can get them on points or if I should buy an annual pass since we'll be skiing 15 days at Whistler next year, if I include winter break). Don't know what I'd do without you!

@calypso726 I can't wait to see your pictures of the Conrad Maldives! Is it sublime? When are you dining at the underwater restaurant?

No, the Citi premier does not earn AA miles. That card will earn 'Thank You' points. I do think you can use those for Disney resorts but I'm not at all familiar with how the redemption works.

The Citi AA business cards have an AF but it is waived the first year. If you plan on opening one, I'd do a dummy booking on AA site and scroll down for the offer. It's better than the public offer. After the first card, you will need a mailer (addressed to someone else) to be able to get the bonus again.

We didn't do it for cost effectiveness. When she was younger it was because there was no overwhelming supply of things available and I used to love to create.

When she was a teen she developed in certain areas in a certain way that was not easy to fit. In order to get appropriate dresses that were dressy yet still young looking sewing was the way to go. When she got married, her dress had to be altered significantly - many fittings.

And yes to the crazy cost of fabrics! And then they will put them on sale for 50% off. Or you get a 40% off coupon.

HUCA for the win!!! Congrats!! :)

Oh and in other news, chase did my CL decreases yesterday so I went from over $90k down to $42k or something. So now how long should I wait to app for CIP 2? I could pay balances to $0 to force it to report to my CRs if that helps. Maybe do that today and app on Fri?
I don't actually know how quickly a credit report will reflect the lower limits. Of course this won't help you but as general advice, I think people should be proactive and continual with reducing CLs if that is your strategy. I try to reduce mine months before I plan to apply so it's no issue. The idea of paying off cards probably isn't a bad thought for you though!

Well...as long as it books Disney still it may suit us.

I mean I'm 4/24 And starting May my cards will fall off so that I will be 0/24 by August. But I do like that AF waived the first year for business cards.

Y'all. <- see what I did there :rotfl:

Where is my SW Biz SUB???

Statement closed on 03/02 with a balance of over $7,000. The 7,000 RRs have credited to my SW RR account, but no SUB yet. Isn't it supposed to post after statement close?

If the MSR was met right before the statement close date the SUB may post after the next statement closes on 4/2

My DH has also left the garage door open overnight....and a few weeks ago he left his keys in the front door hanging there overnight :scared1:
I stayed up late last night and we keep our cat food in the garage. I went out to get food and realized our garage door was still open! I’m glad we live in a cul de sac so people rarely drive by.
