Arghh lost my quotes. Anyways, I have made up a nice little clubhouse in the corner of shun-dom for anyone who needs to join. Stocked with snacks at 3x URs

You inspired me to try out my CSR on the vending machine the other day. The extra 10 cents for using CC means it won’t be something I do often but you have me curious. I tried it with the SPG Biz before but no dice. Charge posted to the CSR - 3x! It's a whopping 4 cents back for every overpriced drink or snack but in a pinch and desperate it'll make me feel a little better at least

Is the SPG Lux/Bonvoy Brilliant automatically expedited?
Also, does anyone have experience shifting credit limits around with Amex? I have a small credit limit on this new card and want to shift credit from my SPG personal to it for hitting MSR

EDIT: just transferred the credit myself online! Very happy, chat had told me they could do the request, it would have to be reviewed by their credit team and it would take 1-2 weeks, that didn't sound right! Doing it myself was instant.

:rotfl:
That's what I figure, I feel slightly better when I buy a vending machine lunch.
Luckily I have no extra fees AND it codes as restaurant on SPG Biz/Hilton Biz too on top of CSR. There's my ongoing spend AMEX.

What cruise did you book? I'm sure you posted and I missed it. This thread is crazy today.

LOL-it was so crazy I don't actually think I did post, I was busy in the am looking up prices for people until that thread descended into mayhem.
My TA came through and switched one of our Bahamians to the 8 day N. European (out of Copenhagen). I had actually budgeted for more so I was happily surprised (I know, I'm one of the few who can say that today:guilty:). Between it pricing at $7 K under budget and having a prepaid deposit from the cruise transfer so not having to pay a deposit today, I'm pretty excited.

Well for the dates I need there doesn't appear to be anything even close. I got the 3 tickets from OAK to HNL for $461/RT. I just can't get my *** to OAK now cheap. UGH!

If you aren't flying to HI until Monday then you have Fri/Sat/Sun to look for flights. I realize it adds a hotel into the mix going there but there's lots of places to stay and things to do in the bay area so it might be worth looking.

Also, I don't think an hour is enough time at any airport to get your bags and check in again plus it leaves no wiggle for the plane being late.

Problem is the flights are $$$ for the weekend too. UGH. I mean it IS spring break so I shouldn't be too shocked. I'm trying to crunch all I can.

have u considered using points instead?

I'm looking at points, points + cash, cash. Nothing is really panning out. Grrrr.

Nothing drives me battier than when someone is like, I looked into that thing that so and so emailed about. Alright. It was this. Alright. So here's a printout of their email, make sure you reply before you leave. WHAT IT LITERALLY TOOK YOU MORE TIME TO PRINT THE EMAIL AND COME FIND ME AND TELL ME ALL OF THAT THAN IT WOULD HAVE TO JUST REPLY TO THE EMAIL.

I think I made a churning mistake this week. We applied for Barclays Arrival for DH early last week. Initially got a message that they couldn't process that card at this time and would get info in the mail. I assumed that this was going to be a refusal.
My MSR was finishing so mom applied and got instant approval.
The mail must have sat at DD house for a couple days and she brought it over last night. Barclays just wanted more info: photocopies of drivers license, SS card and utility bill. We have until 3/20 to get this information to them. This would be a total of $10,000 spend which would be more than I have attempted in the past and may be more than I can reasonably do. I'm wondering if I can just wait with husband's inquiry, pass on sending the info and apply again in a few months. Would this be a red flag for them? I have never done any MS or bank funding and maybe it is time for me to step out of my safe little box. That happy little tickle that was in my tummy last week became a scary little tickle last night  . Any thoughts other than SILLY brownhaired_girl?

FYI, You all inspired me to use my Insta Pot tonight for steamed rice to go with the chicken (that I grabbed at Walmart). We'll see how it turns out. It's just staying warm while I wait for DH and DS to come in from clearing the drive for dinner.

Could open a PNC account or two... can fund each one with 2k... That would knock out 4k. If you have a P2, do two more there.... 8k done without leaving your couch :-)

I'm sure you are, but have you checked all the airports? They aren't that far apart in the grand scheme of it though I know chicago would be a bit far from the east side of MI. But when visiting family I've flown into DTW and Flint and when going to the west side Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, even Midway and ORD. All depended on what was cheapest, also helpful that my family was about halfway between the zoo and GRR.

I MAY have figured out a way....but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger.

I can get from DTW to OAK flying AA and paying OOP. It's $188/person so $564. I have $150 credit from my new year's day flight and I think $140 credit as well. Is the Hilton Aspire still working on AA GCs? If so I can get another $250 from that.

I have the OAK to HNL flights booked.

To get home I could use UR's to fly AA back. It would be 53,800 for the 3 tickets. I'm just trying to decide if that's a good use of UR's. It would be 90k AA miles to fly that and I don't have that kind of balance.

Why am I so scared to use my scared URs LOL. When we got our reserve cards it was to go to Hawaii and here I am trying to book that and I'm scared to pull the trigger, LOL.
