Sadly, no.
I just went through insure my trip to get quotes... went with a Nationwide plan. I clarified with a couple agents that since our flights are on points, we would have some type of coverage if we had to change flights (basically cancel/keep points/book cash flights home) and they told me I was good. That was all I really cared about since I'm using SW points and I will definitely find a future use. You're flying SW too, right?I think someone had put a recommendation here before, but I can't find it. Who should I look at for travel insurance for our Disney trip in September? Obviously want something that will provide coverage in case a hurricane comes through. Also, flights are booked on points (not sure if that matters). I booked a magical rate so I don't know if getting insurance through Disney is still an option or not.
Do you know when this stopped working? I stupidly didn't realize it didn't work anymore and just bought $250.00 in AA gift cards last night for a trip to Washington that I was planning (but am not any longer). Say it ain't so!!
Hi there - I think others have provided some great advice! I'll just weigh in and openly invite you to our DISchurners group. I think you'll find the info there VERY helpful and it has a news thread that posts the highlights of our comments here (making it easier to keep up!)Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking here and am having a tough time keeping up with the pace, so I hope it’s okay to just jump in and ask for some opinions.
Background:
Goals:
- Roughly 4-5k spend each month, always paid in full (thank you, YNAB!)
- Wife and I both have FICO scores above 830.
- AmEx SPG (now, Bonvoy) since 2006. Generally our primary card over the years.
- Chase Freedom since 2007.
- Citi AA since 2017.
- Citi Costco since last month.
- My wife has a Chase Slate that we haven’t used in a few years, but is still open.
Tentative plan:
- Mostly, I want to make sure we are getting *something* tangible for our monthly spend. Perhaps I’ll dip my toes into aggressive churning at some point, but I want to learn my way around a bit more first.
- We take a few road trips per year, but rarely fly anywhere. So travel rewards are great, but I’d prefer them to be flexible rather than branded.
- Cashback is also fine, as I would probably just budget that toward our vacations.
- Have my wife PC her Chase Slate to a CSR or CFU, and I’ll apply for the other. Then use CF for the 5% category spending, CSR for dining/travel, CostCo for CostCo and gas (unless it’s a 5% category), and CFU for everything else.
Does Chase UR seem like a reasonable fit for us, and is this a reasonable plan? Are there different cards we should be considering?
Any thoughts or feedback is greatly appreciated!
Me either! I was browsing the availability but then needed to chat with dh and do school with my boys. I thought for sure I had a couple hours to put it aside. I'll be much faster next time and just go ahead and book it!Ugh!!! I thought that's what you were saying, that's terribleI wouldn't have guessed it would go that quickly. Sorry that happened!

Well amidst a lot of frustration these seem like two SUPER AWESOME wins for you today! Everything was complicated...but not too complicated for you!! Congrats on persisting through that CIP issue and getting your approvalI'm sorry for the long post, but there is a bunch of churning stuff in here, so it's not all off topic...
It's been a difficult day, with everything seeming too complicated. DCL prices are a bit steep for us, plus I can't book for 2 more days as the prices rise. And stupid Disney won't even let me see the prices, so a big shout out to @tink1970 for being super helpful in looking them up for me (and for lots of other people on the cruise board). Then the Chase thing. I called. We used DH's laptop and I think somehow one of the SS# reverted to his, so I had 2 different ones listed (they won't tell me what they were). Guy says he can't fix it, and now I have to mail in a copy of my card, or go to a bank and they can fax it for me. And if I cancel the app and apply again it would be another hard pull. So I pushed back. Hard. His supervisor ended up being able to fix it and then I was instantly approved for my CIP. It's on its way. Then DD called and told me she was accepted for her year abroad in Norway (not study abroad, but a post grad research fellowship). She is super excited. And with that, all my travel plans are changing. I'll need some help figuring out flight (because of course we will want to visit her), but right now my head is spinning and I'm just happy she knows what she will be doing next year.![]()

I normally send this via a PM but you don't have 10 comments yet so you can't PM (until you get to 10, lol):
Would you be interested in joining our private reddit group DISchurners? To join I just need your reddit username (or you can join at reddit and just let me know). In that group we have some of our best tips listed out as guides and you can also support another DISer when you apply for a card or share support links of your own! Let me know and I can get you all setup.
Yes. I'm trying to figure out what this credit still works on.February 8. I got one in on the 7th that worked. Then did another one a few days later, but right before people started realizing it stopped working.![]()
So typically you'd get this welcome message via PM but you're special, so you get it out in the openThank you, I like reddit but don't love the regular churning sub there. I created an account with this same name and would appreciate an invite--threaded messages may make it a little easier for me to keep up than this one!

Wife can’t commit to any travel dates to take advantage of these SW fares to Hawaii. What am I to do with $900 in SW GCs burning in my pocket?![]()
Hawaii/Southwest folks: remember there are more routes on the way so don’t be too sad if you can’t find something that works for you right now, you might when the rest of it launches![]()
Of course the one morning that SW decides to open up Hawaii flights I have a major client meeting... I missed all the fun this morning![]()
Just caught up now though and super excited for all of you with trips booked already!!!

It was perfect! Equal parts rice and water, hit rice and wait for it to beep, beep, beep. Too easy! I think I have converted and will no longer be cooking my rice on the stove.I have not tried it for rice yet either. Let me know how it goes.
