I wasn’t able to use a biz card to fund a bank account either. I called to do it over the phone and lady said it had to be a personal cc. Maybe that was same issue for you??
Oh ok, good to know before I go doing another one. That must be it.

Also, the Disney "souvenir" talk reminds me of something that happened when we checked into a cruise when our son was a baby. This is from my trip report:
Yes we stayed there for a honeymoon a long time ago (16 years) but it was a great hotel and great location. Loved the little town of Lahaina. The Hyatt is Kauai is even nicer

Approval for CIU for DH!! Now we both have 3 Chase business cards each - me (CIP, CIC and SW); DH (CIP, CIC, CIU). I'll be cancelling his CIP on his anniversary. The CIU will probably be his main card. I am not sure I can get him to remember to switch out the CIC on office stores and gas. He never eats out without me so no need to remember restaurants.

Yes love the 3 business cards DPs!!

Chatter from r/churning:

Possible to fly to Hawaii in a day, impossible coming back since SW does not fly overnight. Have to stop in Cali and then fly back to east the next day.

Edit: Possible to book in a single day, cannot book from ATL, MCO, FLL, etc direct to Hawaii as it comes back with an error. Was able to find from DEN with a stop in OAK so could fly to DEN early morning and then on to HNL.

If you want to make use of it from the East Coast, you're going to need a positioning flight or be ok with spending a day or two in the Bay Area - which could be a fun trip nonetheless... it just depends on how much time you have.

I'm surprised they didn't add redeyes in and if they would I might consider flying them again. I'm surprised they don't add in a hotel option when booking the flight because they've got to know they are going to get a lot of people that don't normally fly kr don't understand that returning to the east coast always has a red eye. I hope it's totally obvious on the booking page. I also wonder how many people just stay in the airport overnight.

This probably doesn't apply to most but anyone trying for the TD Bank bonus that has up to $1000 in cc funding here is a DP: the Citi AA Biz, even with a lowered cash advance to zero, would not work for funding. It got rejected and now I have to go into a branch to fund the account or it will close. I thought I was being slick and was going to knock out my MSR in one transaction. I'm probably going to forget the TD Bank one and try to fund another bank bonus offer. Liberty's bonus is only $100 but you can fund $500 and its a very easy bonus to meet.

I tried a personal BoA with TD and it did not work either, although I'm not sure if it's a CA issue or if BoA just denied the charge - they denied the next charge after that too.

Lol, yes, I know it’ll take a little while. I’m asking how do I know the HH account #? DH didn’t have one previously...
The account number shows on your AMEX account page off to the right along with the number of points.

For those of you thinking about going for the baby contest... I was just going over our budget numbers for January and February. Just those 2 months the kids have cost us $11,297.51. :crazy2::crazy2: This does include 2 Spring tuitions, which we are extremely lucky they both have big scholarships, but not total. This does not include any extra money from groceries or medical or insurance etc. Just things I can totally attribute to them, tuition, ap tests, plane tickets etc. This study abroad is definitely not cheap and she is paying for most things herself and just charging things like groceries and ubers on my card. She is worried about running out of money. I remember when we couldn't wait to get out of diapers and daycare because of the cost. :rotfl2:Oh how I miss those cheaper days. lol

Pretty sure I saw a link to hotel options when I played around with booking. I’m not sure if it’s just at the destination or for connection cities too.

Help me out. I know I can't use Amex credit on AA gift certificates anymore, i could change my airline preference but I really have no need for delta or SW so those gift certificates are useless to me and I'm not going to sell them, so what will still be reimbursed? Upgrades? I have no need to pay for luggage. I have that on other credit cards. Buying miles? Does anyone know?

I had issues with TD too. Think it was a personal cc too. I think it’s TD. Had success with citizens though

What is a minimum amount of time one would need to enjoy Hawaii? I know we wouldn't be able to as long as we probably should (if we went) but our jobs won't allow us to be gone for 2 weeks, even 10 calendar days is really really difficult.

Thanks for the DPs. Looks like TD could be the culprit since you are both using personal cards.

I did 6 days on Honolulu and had a great time. I didn't see every little thing there was to offer, but I saw a lot and still had plenty of time of downtime since DH was working during the day while we were there.

Done!

AUS -> OAK, stay 2 nights (never been to Ca so want to explore a little)
OAK -> HNL staying 5 nights

Return
HNL -> PHX (that's about as far east as I could get without feeling like I'm depleting RR) staying 1 night adding another state to my visited list
PHX -> AUS

Cash equivalent per person = $623.70
x 6 people = $3742.20

RR per person = 37573 + $31.70 tax
x 4 people (+ 2 CP) =
Grand Total: 150292 RR + $190.20

I still need to add my CPs. I'm trying to plan a weekend away before this trip so I would assign me as CP on DHs now, then he'd have to call and switch to the kid. Then I can add the youngest to this trip. I'm debating booking her tix on my RR to hold them just in case. Probably easier to rebook a big kid on my RR, book the youngest on his RR (he's almost out) so when he calls to switch everything is in his account. And we still have RR and 2 CPs for next year :)

Now I get to spend the day looking for hotel room(s) in Oakland and Phoenix.

I'm pretty sure I've seen DP's that people did use biz cards to fund an account so that may not be your issue. I just know the banker told me I could not use a biz card for them (was First bank).

Congrats! This is why I need to get under 5/24 -- the Chase personal cards are off the table because of the 48 months thing but I only have one Chase business card.

Get an Amex Plat, get in earlier, and enjoy a massage at the Centurion Lounge in IAH. Then enjoy the Escape Lounge at OAK.

So there is a lounge in OAK?

And the PHX lounge is gone as of April?

I need to fly to SEA this summer and if we go Southwest, we'll have a layover most likely at one of those two.
