Might have to look into this one once I finish the MSR on my BBG (and maybe DH’s). I certainly wouldn’t mind another 60k AA miles, and for the same AF, this seems like a better keeper card than the personal.

Barclay AAdvantage Aviator Biz is back to 60k miles up from 50k. Now on par with the personal offering. Still only $1K min spend.

THANK YOU!!! I might just have to pull the trigger on 2 Barclays Biz cards now Since we have some folks that recently applied on the 50k offer - does anybody know if Barclays will match to 60k??

Same topic on Reddit says should match within 30 days. Worth a try.

ETA previous report on DoC of Barclays matching better Arrival+ offer within 30 days of signing up for the card.

I am sitting here attempting to resist the urge to apply for 2 Barclay Biz Aviator cards...haha!

For some reason I just prefer to apply for cards early in the week, early on a normal business day. (i.e. Monday 9am would be my ideal). If manual eyes are needed, the chances are lower on a Sat/Sun of my app being reviewed if it goes pending, and my anxiety rises the longer an application sits pending, LOL!

I'm sure this sounds crazy to a non churner, but you guys get it, right??

I feel like I've been chasing my tail. Trying to prep the house for sale, looking at houses to buy, travel hockey season was in full swing, kid bday, started a new "business"...well maybe it is a real business but a cheesy one. Just been so dang busy and there are 15 pages a day posted here.

@disneymagicgirl i don’t know if you have been to the UA Outlet recently but DS is in desperate need of new shorts so we went Sat. I had a stack of his old shorts in the Medium that I had him trying on and added his new Large shorts and shirts to mix. When they are too darn small! I guess UA changed their sizing so I now I have to exchange my entire purchase. Ugh!!! I guess UA wants to get the boys in the men’s clothing sooner since they are pricier. So now I am glad we’ll be in uniforms and won’t need as many casual clothing. I swear I have 70 pair of size M shorts I am giving to a friend. (Pretty sure DS has enough clothing for a medium size army.)

Delta Gold, what are the opinions of those that have it? 60,000 a worthwhile SUB on it?

How would you plan to use them? 60,000 miles is an excellent offer but if you don't have a good use for Delta Skymiles, it could be a poor decision. Are you looking at the business or personal version? Also worth noting is the AMEX RAT (rewards abuse team) is always afoot. Would you be able to support continued spend on this card to stay in AMEX's good graces for future approvals?

From r/churning someone noticed a Marriott award booking for 2020 showing 100% penalty if cancelled after Mar 4. If you’re grabbing stuff before category changes BE CAREFUL!

I've been going back and forth on what to book for a long weekend next year to take advantage of the cat 7 cap of 60K a night and have made and cancelled several speculative reservations due to air travel getting more complicated than it's worth for a long weekend. Fortunately, none of them had cancellation policies that weren't reasonable thank goodness. I started with the idea of going to Scrub Island but the airfare part of it was ridiculous and not worth the time and hassle. So then I thought the St. Regis in Aspen would be nice or the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe. Once again flight schedules and pricing was nuts. We finally decided on the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico. We've never been to Puerto Rico, the resort looks lovely and will be a category 8 in a few days. We found a reasonable priced direct flights in lie flat seats and paid for them with AA gift cards. Despite my multiple bookings and cancellations, I will call it a successful travel hacking weekend!

This got me! DD and I were in Chicago seeing my parents and we brought GS cookies that everyone ordered... My mom went out somewhere and called me with "They are selling them for $5 here, did you charge me wrong??" I told her sounds like they are just pocketing a little extra... Later I called DW and told her and she said she heard from her mom in KS they were $5 there too... So I have no clue, IL/KS are $5, NE is $4...

compared Samoa’s vs Aldi’s version. Girl Scouts won out by a very narrow margin for DH and I. DS liked Aldi's. But Aldi’s was $1.35 for 18 and Girl Scouts was $4.00 for 14.

Ours are too which is a bit nutty. I think the last time I bought them they were $3 so I missed the $4's.

Yeah, the price of girl scout cookies has gotten so out of hand. Here in NJ they were $5/box and $6 for a few "specialty" cookies. If a lot of money went towards the girls scouts, I wouldn't mind as much but they get such a low profit per box, it's disgraceful. They are good but WAY over priced

$5 in MD too except the gluten free for $6. Thank goodness for braces and a DS and DH who don’t care for cookies. DS asked me to find him the best rated barbecue chips for his birthday present. His local favorite are Martin’s waffle or Ute and he doesn’t care Lay’s. Any suggestions?

Yes! Another rec for the Aldi's dupe of Tagalongs. They aren't exactly the same, but they are still pretty good and much cheaper.

I always buy a case every year from various friends with cookie selling daughters. We live on the KY/TN border and they are $5 here but $3.50 next door?

Sounds like the PTA Fun Run at DS’s former elementary school. It was parent run when we were there so we got 100% of the proceeds. This year they are using a company that they had to pay $2k in advance and the company will get 50% of the proceeds. Of course, the board is going to withhold those little details.

In churning/travel related news; I booked our rooms for the tentative two day Universal surprise trip. Procrasination paid off once again as total UR needed dropped by ~8,000 from the first time I looked.

I decided to do the first night at the Hyatt MCO, with the second night at the Royal Pacific. Fingers crossed that this works out schedule wise for DH and I and we don't have to cancel. I'm getting a little excited for it!

I say yes. Lol. I had my last baby last year and of course now they come out with Harry Potter nursery stuff.
We have a pottery barn clearance store near here and they had a bunch of the Harry Potter stuff in there. It’s a weird scratch and dent kind of place. My husband was trying to get me to buy the apron.

So I am a bit new here, I have been trying to follow along for a few weeks but you guys move pretty quickly so I have likely missed a lot. I am looking at taking advantage of some a new rewards card or two as we prepare for our Disney World vacation that will hopefully be happening sometime in 2020.

I have no new cards in the past 24 months. The two cards I currently have had forever and use for rewards are:
-Citi Costco Card
-Chase Freedom

Player 2 Spouse
01/19 - Lowes Synchrony Card (which I am an authorized user on)
(also is authorized user on the cards above)

• Average month CC spend is around $1500/month
• Paid off every month
• We don't fly very much but I am hoping to use Southwest to fly to Orlando for DW trip in 2020. We are in central California and there are several airports we could fly out of that Southwest services.
• My main goal is to get as much of our airfare covered in credit card rewards as possible between now and when we book.
• Who does your travel party consist of? For sure myself, spouse and my two daughters (11 and 6 currently) and my in laws might come along as well but they have to earn their own cc rewards to cover their flights

Would Chase Southwest be the best card to go for now? Or should I get one of the others and then transfer the rewards somehow? Like I said I am new at this hopefully you can point me in the right direction.
