And the weather guy just posted on Facebook that the models are now trending toward another big winter storm next weekend! No no no. My dd has 3 days off in a row, which has never happened so she is driving 3 hours each way to stay with her college roomies. A damn storm would ruin that.
I am such a dork I keep looking at my SWA account to see my CP :-)
My dh told me that he read that much of the US, including us in CO, are supposed to have a much colder March than normal :(

March is so unpredictable in MD. DS’s birthday is on the 13th and some years it’s warm enough to have his party outdoors and other years there’s snow on the ground and it’s frigid. Looking at the snow that is currently falling, I am expecting cold weather this year. I am so over it!

Have you gotten your free night certificate?
I got my old 25k one right at the beginning of september and booked a hotel for june 2019 with it (one that is going from 25k to 35k). I originally opened the card in early Sept 2017. I haven't seen any more from it now, but I was okay since either way that hotel was my plan for the cert so I'm okay with it being$85 or $95. Figure this way I paid $10 for the 50k points.

It’s the same here in CO. March is actually our snowiest month so we are used to that but it typically dumps snow and warms up quickly the next day to have it all melt. Today is just staying super cold. It feels more like a January day than a March one. Over it here too!!

I currently have CIP. I closed my CSP a few months ago when the annual fee was due. And I do not have nor have I ever had the CSR.
So I’m impressed with your 600k UR haul (I believe I heard that right). Were you originally planning to use them for Disney? What do you see your best use being now? Do you fly often - could use use SW points? With just a CIP, the portal could make your points worth 1.25cents. I’d say an even better value could come from transferring to Southwest or Hyatt perhaps.

Discussion on r/churning about Marriott pulling Plat Status from some folks...
https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/awt241/discussion_thread_march_03_2019/ehpcthr/

This seems to be related to the Ritz card somehow. I honestly haven’t read it all since I appear to be unaffected. Might want to check to see if your Marriott status level has changed though.

For what it's worth, DW is Platinum from the Ritz card and still has it. For now anyway.

Has she checked today? I ask because yesterday I was platinum, today I am gold:sad1:

A new account for recurring direct deposits of SS income? I see bank bonuses in your future :thumbsup2

I know Citizens doesn’t list MD, but you said you were close to PA so maybe your zip code might be eligible? You’ll find out quickly after you put your zip code in, either you’ll get a not eligible message or it’ll populate the promo code field with the code.

M&T is easy and quick. You can downgrade to the EZChoice checking which has no fees to ride out the 6 months avoiding the ETF (or just take the $25 hit if you don’t care) after the bonus posts. You know if a push worked for DD within a couple business days so it’s another quick hit like Chase and Discover.

Also, Suntrust looks interesting. I’m not in their footprint so I haven’t looked into it too closely but it’s one I remember hearing about several times on the old thread. @striker1064 , did you do this one? Or maybe it was @speedyfishy ? Or a bunch of others I'm failing to recall :)

Thanks, ended up opening the M & T Bank account since, unfortunately, despite being a mile from PA, my zip code was ineligible :( I checked my mom’s and hers was eligible but I am sure she has no interest. I’ll open one for DH once I get it work for me. I figured that’s any easy $500. I’ll look at SunTrust next. There’s also a small one for PeoplesBank that looks easy enough to fulfill.

Sometimes the “you just used your Amex Offer” email doesn’t come or ends up in the junk box. Doesn’t mean you did the offer wrong. Just check for the points in 2-3 days.

Thanks for responding. It sounds like he's the only one who didn't get the email, and so I worry. We will just have to wait and see I guess.

And @Judique is probably just getting rain. We’re watching the MD Terps b-ball game and it was only raining at a College Park. Our weather varies so much for such a small state.

I want to do harmony next August because fantasy is doing 3-day cruises at the end of the month and the 7-nights earlier in the month are going to be expensive.
I think I am going with Harmony for next March for DS’s Spring Break and 13th birthday. We can do 2 days at USO before the cruise since he is off 3/13-22. I briefly looked at Disney and it was over $3k more than RCCL and I just can’t justify it.

I always say the same about my sons birthday. It can be hot and sunny and it has snowed. Except his birthday is May 10th LOL

Hi everyone. I just got back from a week at Disney. It was an amazing trip with my wife and 3 kids and we are now hooked! We are already talking about our next trip!

We stayed at the Dolphin using free nights that my wife and I had earned several years ago through the SPG card. I am not new to the points/miles game but I am new to it as it relates to Disney.

Before my wife and I had started having kids 6 years ago we would use points and miles for lots of trips. When we started having kids we stopped traveling as much but continued to earn points through sign up bonuses and spending.

We now have over 600K Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and I’m trying to figure out how to best put them to use for a Disney hotel, but with none of the hotels being part of a loyalty program I’m not sure how to get the best value. Are there any tricks or general advice people can offer? Is the Swan and Dolphin the only way and is that a good value anymore? Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you!

There is a link where you can use your UR for your Disney tickets.

@Brian4891 - Just to follow up on @SouthFayetteFan, your 600k UR stash is very impressive for never having gotten the CSR, especially when that card was offering a 100k UR signup bonus. I'm wondering what have you been doing thus far to earn UR? When did you open your CSP and CIP? Do you have any other UR-earning cards? Are you in 2-Player mode with your wife? Are you under- or over- 5/24? What about your wife, if she's in the game too? What other cards do you (two) have?
