Tags are used to aid in searching. The question then becomes is it just the dis search or is it any search engine. Tagging it with credit card could make it pop up much sooner on google if someone searches that term. It's why you'll see a lot of blog posts with tags. They serve a purpose but before going tag happy anywherr on the dis I'd want to know what type of search it's helping. And if it's only for the dis search why are they needed?
Well I’ll just get rid of them. They seemed neat but not needed.

Oh, close call! Glad to hear that your mortgage company could work with your payments and that you got it resolved! Are you going to use multiple payments like that going forward?
Probably not, lol. I still want to buy fee free GCs for the 5x URs when that promotion comes up again, but I'll have to think of a better way to liquidate them I guess!

Meanwhile, over here in MA, I think this is the least snowiest winter in the 10 years I have lived here. A few more inches expected tonight.
I’m in MA too and my kids have not had one snow day all season. That never happens. But I’ll gladly take it over the winter of 2014-2015 when we had 108.6 inches!

I found the story in my TR...

And so we don't end on a downer, here is an entertaining, wedding related story!
About a month after we got engaged, Zack and I were at the mall, and I thought we should stop in and look at a few men's bands for fun. We had no plans at this point, but I told him it couldn't hurt to get ideas. Zack sees these bands with wood inlay, and is obsessed. Looked a bit like this:

il_570xN.166560025.jpg

So fast forward about a year, and I push Zack to seriously start looking. So we look at some stores, he looks online some, and we end up back at the place with the wood inlay rings, because that was the only place that had anything like that in-store. There were some things online, but we were hesitant about that. In April, he picks one out and orders it. They tell him 4-6 weeks to get it in.

It finally comes in, something like 8-10 weeks later. :confused3 We go to pick it up, and it's super dark. Basically black, and you can't see the wood grain in it at all which is part of what he liked so much. Zack is really bad about not saying he doesn't like something right away... so even though I asked him if it was okay, he took several days to tell me no :sad2: So he contacts the guy who sold it to him, who is the Store Manager, who tells him to bring it in and they'll send it back. So we do that, and everyone's like yeah, that's totally the wrong color! We're told, it's only 3-5 weeks to get it fixed!

So it took way longer again. To the point that Zack was emailing the manager, and leaving messages for him, because it was August. Finally the guy calls him back, and says the ring is back and looks the same. So we head in to discuss this issue, and he wasn't there but the other employees show us what they believe is the issue. When they took the rings out of the case and flipped them over, they were all a different color. Like the wood had faded under the jewelry case lights. So the one Zack ordered, did look black on the bottom half of the ring.

We had been told we could reorder or get a refund, and Zack picked the next lightest option, even though it wasn't quite the color or pattern he wanted. These employees told us it would be in in less than a week, which I didn't believe at all.

Sure enough, we get to the end of August... no ring. The first week of September I'm poking around online, and I find a jewelry site with wood inlay rings. The processing time was 9-10 days, but they had an expedited shipping option so I sent them a message. They called me back and said they could overnight it for $50. I sent it to Zack to see what he thought, because it looked like what the original faded ring did. So we decided to risk it. Even with the shipping charge, it was $150 less than the other ring, and the site had a 30 day return policy so we figured worst case scenario he'd wear it for the wedding, we'd send it back, and keep looking. We ordered it on the 6th, and it was supposed to be ready on the 13th and arrive on the 14th (which was actually the day we left! but Zack's parents would be there until the 16th).

In the mean time, Zack had been calling and emailing with no response on if the third ring was in. When we ordered the one online, he sent an email requesting a refund for his order, saying he had to go with another option since it appeared that ring wasn't going to get there on time. Magically he gets a call that the ring is in! He tells the guy who called he wants a refund, who threw a stink because it was technically a no refund special order item, but after he confirmed with the manager he told Zack he could come in for the refund.

The 13th rolls around... and I get a text that says,

Thank you again for your order. Due to recent natural disasters, we are experiencing a delay in shipping your order.

I dig out my order confirmation email, and this place is just south of Palm Beach. What are the dang odds that I found a ring from somewhere in Florida which was then hit by Irma????

I gave them a call, and they told me they had no power but were going to try and ship things out on Friday the 15th, so it would come on the 16th. Not their fault at all, but the problem was Zack's parents had a mid-afternoon flight on the 16th.

So I get on Amazon and find a sort of similar cheap ring. Thank goodness for Prime! I thought, it will come Friday for sure so Zack's parents can bring it, but it ended up coming Thursday before we left for the airport. Friday around 6:30pm EST, I get an email that the other ring is shipped! And we're thinking, it will be waiting for us when we get back from Florida...

Zack's cousin comes by on Saturday to pick up Zack's parents, and take them and Zack's aunt to the airport. They load their stuff up, jump in the car, and head out of the neighborhood... to pass a UPS truck! So Zack's mom makes his cousin turn around, and sure enough that truck is dropping off the ring. She ripped all of the packaging open in the car and left it behind :rotfl:

And that is how Zack's ring was ordered 13 days before our wedding and made it to Florida.

The infamous ring...

To tie this back in to why I mentioned it, the online place had a 2-3 month window to exchange for size. I kept asking him and asking him about the size, because it seemed a little big... but no, it was fine. And then about 8 months after the wedding he was like, I should have tried a smaller size.

On another note, the chain store the original ring was from called DH again just last week... to tell him his ring is in. We're pretty certain it's the last one that showed up, that we did get a refund for. They call like once a month. It's been 18 months now...

That sounds awesome. He must have a really cool teacher. I would’ve loved that as a kid
Ha, my DS is less than enthusiastic about it (although he did enjoy the movies) since he much more of a math/science type and basically despises ELA.

LOL that's ridiculous!! I remembered reading your ring story way back when I read your TR! We didn't have any issues purchasing rings, but DH got two different sized titanium rings (one he wore at our wedding, got another one a couple months later in a smaller size) and didn't like either of them. I told him I didn't care if he wore a ring or not, but he ended up ordering one of the silicone ones and likes that.

Got the WF $150 checking bonus today. I signed up for the $150 after first $500 DD, $100 after 5 more months of $500 DD. I opened it the day after I was eligible again (received a WF personal checking bonus on 1/24/2018, opened this account on 1/25/2019). So, that confirms 12 months is the hard cutoff, even to the day.

My old faithful CU push doesn't work to trigger the bonus anymore, so I had to change my DD to get it. Of course, the $400 bonus offer came out after I had changed my DD, when it was too late to change it back. This is one case I wish WF didn't post the bonus so fast! Oh well, I'll finish this one off.
Oh no, I wonder if my CU push worked to keep checking fee free. I guess I better check. (The initial deposit did trigger the bonus in Jan.)

@platamama , and anyone else interested, I had a little trouble with my 14 payments to my mortgage company. I got an email saying they were returning them all! The checks all arrived prior to the first, so since I technically didn't have a payment due yet and I wrote do not apply to principal, they couldn't do anything with them! I was able to intercept the return thankfully. I was told that next time I would either have to have them arrive after the first, OR allow them to be applied to principal and call to reallocate after. Here I thought I was doing myself a favor by writing "partial March payment- do not apply to principal". I'm just glad they didn't end up returning them all, ugh :faint:

Oh no! So sorry . . . that's exactly what I would note in the memo line when I sent mine. What a pain!

Just wanted to acknowledge all of the posts sending well wishes for my Dad's recovery. The fact that they are way too numerous to be able to quote every one shows again the kindness of the community on this board and why I hang out here so often :) All of your thoughts and prayers are so much appreciated. More improvement this morning, so very thankful for that. My Mom is discouraged that he looks the same every time we see him (because he is still sedated and on a ventilator), but I've been trying to tell her that there is still improvement going on inside his body, and I think she is starting to believe it this morning with the latest update. No definite word on when he might be pulled off the ventilator but there is talk of trying to get him moved back to the Bay Area within the next few days, so that will be another source of relief for my Mom. Anyway, thanks again, all!

@Calfan I think I missed the first post about this, but sending positive thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Hope your dad has a quick recovery.

Anybody know how long it takes to receive the AmEx Bonvoy Brilliant (formerly Lux)?

Need to wait for P2 to be out of 2/90, but before the 100k offer expires, AND not have it arrive while we're on vacation! Eek!

I’d say typically about 7-10 days.

Amex is supposed to be replacing the SPG Lux cardstock with the new metal Bonvoy Brilliant cards any day now, and with the elevated 100k bonus running, there’s no telling if there will be delay.

When I applied for the SPG Lux in that 3-day window when I could have my Chase and eat Amex too, my SPG Lux was sent next day mail. But delivery times quickly slipped after that as Amex couldn’t keep up with demand and ran out of Lux cardstock.

I had my Hilton card stolen for $250 at Walmart, and my IHG Chase for $2300 at AirBnB. Both were denied and caught. But ***. And I think my replacement cards got lifted as I saw them in my USPS informed delivery last week and they still haven't shown up!

@LilSweetPeaPhoto Yikes, I feel your pain. I had 3 different cc used fraudulently in 3 months. Even though it was caught and my cc’s were canceled and replaced, it is still a pain and makes me feel paranoid. Hope nothing happened to your replacement cards and you get them soon.

Thanks! Do they send it by UPS/FedEx or regular mail? We have a locked mailbox so regular mail would be fine. UPS/FedEx would be a problem since they just leave it at the door....

Yeah, it's the smaller denomination gcs that kind of drive me nuts, so that's why I got a Serve card. But @MrPTato 's experience so far does not portend well.

hmm, i saw an article that says ppl who applied for the new card will get it in march. people who have the Lux will get it in June.

Lucky you lol. Our roads are still coated in ice and I see no chance in the forecast to get it melted

At least the teacher is trying to use an interesting topic. He could sit and do spelling/vocabulary packets like I had to do in junior high. My mom and aunt always helped my cousin and I because they were so hard. Sometimes they didn’t even know the answers!
