I google mapped the UC to Nebraska and the route it showed me didn't head south to Joliet. Shows 290 to 88 to 80, heading straight west of Chicago.
How about around Oak Brook for the night after the game? Straight west of the city on your route home. It's a nice area. Some areas of the Joliet area are nice too...some not.
Traffic will be light of course, should be about 30 minutes.
I live in the Oak Brook area. Oak Brook itself, very upscale. No sketchy areas. Lol. After a game, took us 15 minutes just to expressway (290) but then 30 minutes straight west. Depending on where in IA @Haley R lives, and which route, this would be a good option. And lots of hotel choices. I love our suburban location due to access to highways. I am minutes from 294 (N-S) 88 & 290 (E-W) and 55 (SW-NE).

And BTW, only light traffic times on Chicago expressways are 3-4am and even then you will encounter lots of food delivery trucks out for am delivery.

The main reason we were going near Joliet was to avoid toll roads. Dh told me this morning he would be fine doing tolls. It only saves us 17 minutes but I guess that’s the route we’re gonna take now.

I think that might be the way we’ll go now since Dh said he’s fine paying tolls. We normally try to skip toll roads but I guess he wants to go that route. I’ll have to look for hotels in oak brook on the chase portal!

I know next to nothing about Joliet. Lived my whole life in Chicago and burbs and I don’t think I’ve ever been to Joliet. I mean I’ve driven by but that’s it. Most in Chicago don’t even think of it as a suburb. Used to be famous for the prison. Lol

Look for Oak Brook, Lombard, Downers Grove. All along I-88 if that’s the route you’re taking.

Yeah we’ll be taking 88 now I think. Is that a toll road?

Fun fact: we actually looked at potentially moving to the Downers grove area last October but Dh’s work said he’ll stay here

I'm so confused. How do I use the Safeway coupon on gift cards? I made an account and added the coupons. Is it just attached to my safeway number now or do I have to scan something?

for WoH question....nobody here familiar with the program/cc?

Yep, it's just attached to your number. When you put your phone number in for the rewards all the coupons you selected are triggered.

Darn, I wanted to go to this today but the DirectTV technician is at our house setting up our upgrade. We will finally have DVR at our house and all of our TVs will have HD instead of just two of them.

My deposit shows in my PNC account for 1/8 and my first debit card transaction was 1/14, so it must've been about a week or so for me to get it. Still no bonus though.

My deposit shows as 1/16 and my first debit card transaction was 1/24, but I might have waited a day or two to use it. I was able to set up online banking on 1/17 though, long before my debit card came. I haven't gotten any bonus yet either.

I am still waiting on my bonus but I am behind you guys. Deposit on 1/30 and last debit on 2/4. I'm very impatient waiting on this bonus. I went into the branch to set up mine since it is right by my house and I knew I'd have identity verification if I tried on-line. They printed my debit card right there. First time that has happened. I also used their system to set up my on-line account.

If I brought my DH a car as a surprise he'd die of a heart attack(and not in a good way lol)
There is no way I would attempt to buy DH a vehicle. His current ride is a F350 dual wheel pick up. I don't even know how I would be able to choose what he would need/want.

I hate it when I have those weird leftover GC balances. I currently have a Disney card with (I think) $1.60 on it. What am I supposed to do with that?
I always get DH's GC leftovers. Last one was a Giant Eagle GC with $0.88 on it. No problem, I'll use it on my next trip! He probably would have thrown it away before having to use 2 forms of payments.

I get the “avoid tolls mentality”. I’m so cheap - I usually will avoid tolls unless it’s a necessity. Spending $3 or $5 and Saving 10-20 minutes doesn’t compute for me LOL!
