Ok, that makes me feel better. Well, better knowing it will be delayed. I always get paranoid.

I also like that instant gratification! I see the remaining credit is less than my CL so I know the charges I made are truly pending. I guess its something I will just have to deal with in order to get the 80,000 UR haha
If you go into the UR part of the site for that card, you can choose view more activity and the charges will usually appear there before it shows up in the usual spot.

Hawaiian Airlines runs interisland flights for as low as 7,500 HawaiianMiles one-way. Amex MR transfers to HA, and there’s usually a 25% transfer bonus sometime during the year. The Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard (issued by Barclays) is offering a 60k signup bonus right now. Pretty sure HA is on the Chase UR portal too. I also remember reading that SW plans to offer interisland flights. Unsure if they’ll be operating the flights or if it’s a code share situation. That might be an option if you have the CP.
Thanks, I have some Amex MRs I wouldn't mind using on that!

Well dang, just for s and giggles, I called AMEX back from their voicemail yesterday, even though I got the denial email on the BBP. He very nicely asked if there as an account I don't use much that would be ok to close, I said the SPG business, I have had for almost exactly a year. He said, perfect, closed it and moved the entire credit line to the new BBP send out an approval email!

question...... how would you get the personal sans bonus? would you have a MSR if you did that? I am stuck with my biz which I know I'm going to ditch, but since I canceled the personal,I'm wondering if it would make sense to try to get another before my time runs out,or if I'm being ridiculous since I don't have any enthusiasm for the 35k night anyway...help

No, MSR is a requirement for the bonus. I don't qualify for a bonus because I had the personal SPG card a couple of years ago and Amex bonuses are once per lifetime unless you find an offer without that language. I also don't qualify for the bonus because I currently hold a Marriott Premier Plus card. I'm only planning to get it so I can have the 35K free night certificate at a lower annual fee since the AF for the SPG business is going up.

All that for $1500 OOP?! So awesome! I'd love to hear how your cruise goes. My kids are wanting either that or an all inclusive trip next. When I look at all the cruise options it just seems overwhelming. It will definitely be Caribbean. So did you pay for the cruise using UR? We are thinking of the possibility of upgrading to APs as well. I know I'll probably end up doing the park to park to get the Hogwarts Express. Do you know if it is still possible to upgrade the promo ones? Because on the Universal Site the 4 day promo tickets are $310 and the seasonal annual pass is $305 so I would think that you could upgrade. If I don't hear anything for sure before we go I'll just try and if we can't we just won't upgrade. But I thought it would be a nice way to get another trip in for little cost. It is our first time at Universal, but I'm sure we'll like it enough to go again. Have a great trip!
Yes i booked the cruise using URs in May. Royal carribean was having a great sale and kids sale free was a promo too. Since my oldest is 12 this is the last year he’s considered a child. I think it was total $2400 and I added the gratituities at booking and used my CSR discount. We are doing Western carribean out of port canaveral. I will prob do all inclusive or maybe Aruba next trip with them. I like the idea that the cruise will keep them busy where I think at a resort they might get bored (and up our butts)
I bought my Uni tix with URs. You can upgrade the promo tix but they see it as a two day ticket to upgrade. It made more sense to buy the full price 4 day ptp pass with the CSR discount so they will upgrade with the higher value ticket if that makes sense. It’s our first time too I hope we like it too!
I started hard core in the spring 2 player mode to get this trip paid for. I hit chase for all the good bonuses and Marriott too. DH opened an arrival + to pay for cruise onboard charges. Plus I do swagbucks and follow the gc disney thread so aim to get all gcs at 15-20%. Quick breakdown.

Flights - covered with CP and RR from SUB on chase sw cards (double dip when it was allowed)
Disney Hotel - 1 night pop discounted/free gc
Swan - 2 nights marriott points and SPG lux credit (plus Marriott amex promo)
Cruise - chase URs
Drink package - oop but met MSR with it
Car - leftover venture awards and oop
Food at Disney - discounted gift cards
Cruise onboard stuff- SUB from arrival + (worth $750)
3 nights RPR UNI - Chase UR Portal
4 4 day Uni 3 park to park tix - Chase UR portal will upgrade to APs

I had an older sister that used to warn me about the bad clown I have always wondered if she used to tell me the stories just so I wouldn't want to tag along with her and her friends. I grew up about 15 miles north of Boston
Haha my older sibs both haunted me and made me freak out every time there was a white van! I still hate clowns to this day!! We are prob very close to each other (location wise)!!

HA now flies direct from Boston. I’m all for direct flights but that bad boy needs to be broken up. Although home is overnight so I’d consider that!
I agree, especially if flying with kids! DH and I went to Maui for our honeymoon - BOS to LAX with an overnight layover at a hotel by the airport and then LAX to Maui in the morning. I'd like to do it that way next time we go, too.

The Points Guy is now publicizing the Hotel Canary/Priceline Express deals.
Yeah, seems like pretty much a cut and paste from the guy on the Touring Plans Blog.

"My friend recently opened my eyes to a strategy she read from Touring Plans, discussing the Google Chrome browser extension 'Hotel Canary'” SO I DECIDED TO COPY AND PASTE AN ARTICLE TOGETHER TO SHARE WITH THE WHOLE WORLD!

Are we twins? we went to Maui for our honeymoon too (and Kauai). Broke up home via Vegas and there a longish layover at LAX
