DH’s CIP AF hit on April 1st. I am thinking he should PC to a no fee card. He already has the CIC. Does that mean he has to go to a CIU? I was thinking it would be better to get the SUB for the CIU card.... are there other pc options?
if you can, I would apply for CIU first to be the SUB. Then you can close your CIP. But I am hearing, just like having more than one CIP, you can have more than one CIU/CIC. So you can apply and PC if you really want to.

@Andysol had a mini write up on this awhile back. I tucked it away for when my CSR is one year old...

Thanks for posting this. My CSR's AF posts in September so I'm going to wait to figure out the best strategy then. A PP asked about keeping a CF or CFU with a CL of $10,000 in order to switch it back to a CSR (or to do what @striker1064 and @SouthFayetteFan mentioned and downgrade the CSR while also upgrading an existing CF) -- that makes sense but I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure?

Ok, I just realized Staples called me yesterday and left a message about my order. So instead of calling back like a normal person, I am asking here, Why would they do that?? I used DHs Amex card so order is in his name. Do i want to call back as DH? Side note, my phone is whack. It doesn't like to give my one voice mail so it waits till I have multiple voice mails before they show up! One time I had 4 VM pop up out of nowhere. Today the vet called and left a message so that made the one from Staples yesterday afternoon appear.

Quoting myself again. So I thought it was weird that Staples would tell me to call back on a non800 number. So I did a live chat. The person was not very helpful, I explained my question/problem and told them the number that called me. Their answer was, we will add that number to your file. Wait, WHAT? I may have typed that exact in there. lol I reiterated this number called me, is it a fraudulent number?? They didn't exactly answer, but told me not to call that number back. Now I am concerned if it is a fraudulent number, what do they know? My CC info? My email? My address? They obviously have my phone number. Ughhhh All to save a couple bucks at Target. That I needed to go to yesterday, and still don't have my GC to shop. Grrrrr

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Anaheim. it was right across the street. We are Marriott Gold so we got water and Milanos when we checked in and a park view room. The rooms were recently renovated. No carpets! The service was also awesome. Texts throughout my stay asking how everything was etc.

Haven't stayed there yet, but I have my eye on the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance. It's pretty new, has a water park, bunk beds, and is across the street from the park entrance. Depends on what you're looking for though? We have kids so the water park and bunk beds would be awesome for us.

Room rates have been around $350-400 when I've looked, and costs 50,000 Marriott points. So an okay redemption. If and when I book, I'd probably debate a while using the Marriott points or URs with CSR, would depend if I had other uses for the Marriott points.

We have a 2 night stay in 2020 booked at the Hyatt House Anaheim. I booked when it was 12,000 Hyatt points but it's now 15,000 Hyatt points. 10 minute walk tot he park and free breakfast cannot be beat.

I have heard good reviews about the Hyatt House at the corner of Katella and S Harbor Blvd. We have not stayed there though.

We stayed at the Hyatt House, here was my review

Thank you all! I will check these out!

Finally got my husband to log into his corporate account to see if he even has reward points and he got the message that "sorry, your card doesn't qualify for reward points." Is this our dead end??

Why not call? My account read something similar when I logged in as well. They were extremely nice when I called and set it up. It cannot hurt anything to call! The worst that can be said is no. And I'll even send some pixie dust your way!! :tinker:

The way that we calculated it is if my corporate card has a spend of $6k annually then the $90 AF is worth it. I probably put $14k on my corporate card per month. Sometimes I almost max it out at $20k per month... each month is different, but to me it's free money.

I... er, my friend... has done this.

Said friend also told me the AF posts on your original card anniversary, not your PC anniversary, so if you're particularly clever you can extract a lot of value out of this. I would never dream of abusing this, but... Chase doesn't seem to particularly care.
This little tidbit is a gem my friend!

After e-mailing back and forth with Plastiq since Monday over the board for dd's horse (which was declined on my new AmEx), they finally agreed to let next month go through. They asked me to clarify if it was for "residential rent". I thought it over, and was going to ask them to define "residential", but decided that yes, it is in fact residential rent (I didn't tell them it was equine rent). After all he needs somewhere to live. They didn't specify it had to be for a human being :rolleyes1. Hope board for May will go through.

Ugh! I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with Citi because I can't login to my Biz account. 3 people, clearing cache & cookies and clearing out of browsers multiple times and still no. The guy at the end goes "I'll give you 1,000 miles for your trouble". So I asked him for the match to 60K and he says I'll have to call AA about that. Umm...no, I'll just do a late night chat for that -- IF I CAN EVER GET INTO MY ACCOUNT!!

I know you understand my pain, I hate talking on the phone.

Another DP with a slightly different outcome - though I do not know how and why........I had a CSP with an AF that always posted in Feb. I upgraded to CSR in Jan 2018 - was charged $450 AF in July. Have no idea why this posted in July as that was no anniversary of any kind.

Since opening the card I have received $600 in travel credit and $100 in Global Entry credit - plus numerous redemptions @ 1.5x thru the travel portal. Not bad for one $450 AF. I will be downgrading or canceling the card whenever the next AF posts, which at this point I am assuming will be July.

I've been under this impression for a long time too. But, I have a contradicting DP for my Marriott Premier that I upgraded to the Marriott Premier Plus. The card's AF anniversary is 6/1. Last year's AF posted on 6/1, I paid $85, upgraded it in October to the Premier Plus. Got a refund for 7 months worth of AF (makes no sense to me since it had been 5 months), and the new AF anniversary is now 3/1. Thinking this might have also reset my card anniversary for the free night, I SM'd Chase and was told my card anniversary is still in May which was the original opening month of the card.

So basically I ended up paying $36 for 6/1/18-2/28/19 and used my old Cat 1-5 FN certificate last year, received 50K pts for the upgrade, and should receive my new up to 35K FN certificate sometime in June or July, for the new $95 AF.

Maybe this is what happens for co-branded Chase cards vs Chase UR cards? I can only go based on my own experience. I think @Judique had a similar experience with her upgrade IIRC.

I'm curious about if I upgrade my one of my CFs (I have 2, one is a downgraded CSP) to a CSR after my CF original card anniversary in 8/2019, if I won't be charged the $450 until the next card anniversary in 2020... Would you expect no $450 AF until 8/2020 in this scenario? Then, I could use up my $300 CSR travel credit in Jan (CSR anniversary month) and downgrade it in Feb. Hmmm...
