I'm sorry for all of you with Labor Day trips who are bummed about this :( do we have anyone happy about it? I'd like to celebrate that someone here got something good out of today's surprised announcement!

I’m happy! I was so worried it was going to open during my wedding or after. This is perfect a decent amount of time before so hopefully it will die down and it will be open for our family that will probably only be going to Disney once for our wedding.

Have a few more things please!
First I want to thank all who replied to my question(s). I don’t know how to quote so...‍♀️
Could I be invited to your reddit group? Maybe I won’t have to ask so many questions here!
I keep seeing references to the dreaded Amex pop up. What is it??
And last but not least how do I add a profile pic? If I hover over my name avatar isn’t in the drop down box.
Thanks
I typically PM anybody new to the thread to welcome them :) You didn't have 10 messages yet so I couldn't do that, lol! I am sending a PM now.

You also probably can't change your avatar until you have 10 comments or something like that. You probably can try again now.

The AMEX popup is hard to answer in a short comment. Let's just say that if AMEX in their sole discretion determines you are abusing them for signup bonuses and CC rewards, they may block you from earning future bonuses. When you are getting AMEX cards, you want to spend methodically on them, and continue using them after earning the bonus. If you don't think that's worth it, then I'd consider skipping the card.

Has anyone mentioned the spend $500.00 on the Hilton Aspire AmEx and get $100.00 back offer on Waldorf Astoria and Conrad hotels (good until the end of June)? I activated it on my card as there is a new Conrad about to open in Washington (that looks amazing) and I need to travel there in the not-too-distant future!

I'm not sure if the $250.00 "resort credit" towards Hilton purchases on the Aspire card will be triggered as I read it to be a credit towards incidentals (meals, spa, etc.), not room nights. Anyone have experience with this on their Aspire?

Refresh my memory - how long until your approval? Was DH a straight denial?
We both went pending. Mine was like 3 or 4 days. Dh was denial the next day. Did they pull your CR?

ETA: I think I've read they don't always pull if denial is on the way?? I could be wrong on that. They pulled for both dh & I.

December 3rd!!! Yeah, I’m getting married on a Tuesday but everyone is coming from NY and needed to stay longer anyway lol. I’d love to have my friends here come I like you guys better than some people that are coming but SO may find that a little weird lol
Understand completely! That's how weddings are :) Hope we get to see a pic or two!!

The biggest news I have is my Disney Visa (no fee) arrived today. Silver anniversary castle card which is really beautiful! Used DH referral link, something we've never done before. As @gottalovepluto says, baby steps! :tiptoe:

Did the $45 Sam's & Dosh - DH account.

Next step is to secure Chase $600 offer for checking/savings. Received that in the mail.

Y'all have to understand, I'm ready, willing and able to do more but DH isn't. Frustrating!
Certainly love reading all the posts and celebrating your wins!

I am trying to remember, does a Citi Biz account need a separate login from personal? It won't let me link the AA Biz to my existing account so I'm assuming yes, but I would really prefer to not have another login for the same issuer.

Rumor they might release the 3x unlimited again. I love having that card and the 3x will drop off next month. It was a great everdaycard for DH plus for Plastiq etc no thought or disappointment with coding.

I dunno about this one... the original offer was 3% back on all purchases with no sign up bonus. Isn't that a bad deal? The normal sign up bonus is 15,000 UR after $500 spend. You'd have to spend $5,000 on the 3% card to hit the same number of URs. Your break even point is around $10,000 spend - above that you see some better returns.

I'm 4/24 tomorrow. ::yes:: Bring it on.
Maybe I’m not thinking this through right so please tell me if I’m not but this 3% for a year but capped at 20k is actually only 30k above what you’d normally earn on 20k spend. That 30k is $300. When my dd got her cfu back in 11/18, she got 20k bonus after $500 spend. Wasn’t that a much better deal?? Knowing me, I’m missing something big here.

I didn’t see your post until after I posted. But that’s what I was wondering too.
