I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I retweeted...I think. I am sorta twitter illiterate.

Me, too. I'm trying to retweet all the posts I can see over there but always not so sure I'm doing it right.

I wanted to circle back to this when I had some time.

With Chase, pretty much all their cards are subject to the 5/24 Rule now; the Chase Ink Business cards are absolutely subject to 5/24, so DH does need to get under 5/24.

Check Credit Karma for all the cards DH has opened in the last 2 years that show up on his reports and count them. CK pulls from Equifax and TransUnion, but that's good enough for counting purposes.

If Chase pulls DH's credit report from only Experian, Experian back-dates all account opening dates to the first of the month. So it shouldn't matter if DH opened the card on 3/28/17, it's backdated to 3/1/17 and drops off of the last 24 months on 3/2/19, meaning DH could apply anytime after if that makes him 4/24. However, Chase has been pulling both Experian and Equifax for my wife and me on every application in the past year. Since we're just up the road from you guys, there's a good chance Chase may pull both EX and EQ reports. In which case, Chase will see from the Equifax report that DH may not be under 5/24 yet. It's best to wait until 4/1/19 to apply for either Ink card.

CIC or CIU?

Same 50k UR SUB. Same $3k MSR in 3 months. Same $0 AF.

CIU: 1.5x UR on everything.

CIC:
  • 5x UR at office supply stores, which sells physical gift cards to Amazon, Disney, gas, (pretty sure) Whole Foods, Visa and Mastercard GCs (which often has no fee and $-off promos, so you can buy them then carry-over the 5x UR bonus to spend at places that don't earn that high of a bonus). I've also found some stationary stores like Paper Source code as 5x UR.
  • 5x UR on internet, cable and phone services, so your cable tv, internet, cell phone bills, Netflix and Hulu.
  • 5x UR on electronic gift cards to hundreds of merchants (including Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods) on Gyft and Swych when using PayPal checkout. (Note that the way these apps code could change in the future, but then you could still buy physical GCs from office supply stores.)
  • 2x UR at gas stations and restaurants.
  • 1x UR on everything else.
  • *5x UR categories are capped at $25k/year.
Ultimately, you should have DH apply for both the CIU and CIC. You can PC the CIP down to either the CIU or CIC, but you won't get any SUB if you PC. Apply for the CIU and CIC. Keep your Chase CLs in check (<50% of household income), space out your applications adequately, and DH shouldn't have problems getting approved for 3 or 4 Chase biz cards.

Thank you very much. Yes, eventually the plan would be to get both. But I want to get the best one for us first. Sounds like the CIC could work. The stupid store card was opened 3/17 so that's what we are watching and waiting before he applies. Maybe I'll need to go first (he can refer me from his CIP) but then I just got my first Chase card around 12/31/18. Or I guess we can take some time off and not have a MSR for a while to make AMEX happy.

I think the CIP is 3x

Ooh thanks for mentioning this. I try to keep track of it all but the spreadsheet is too big now. :faint:

SM GCs are processed through GCM, so yes 3x on CIP.

It's so annoying that I keep forgetting this. Esp. since I shop at one all the time and we have made some pretty large purchases there over the past few months. I'm trying to keep up, but I still feel like a novice over here.

On my way home from work (on the T) just trolling twitter tagging WDW and Chase and calling them out as much as I can LOL. I think I have a new hobby.

Fun new hobby! I'm trying to retweet your posts or tweets or whatever they are called over there.

This is the image that accurately describes how I feel
Yup, this about sums up how I'm feeling.

I'm so annoyed right now with our whole new fridge fiasco. The replacement fridge for the original damaged one was supposed to be delivered today. Take the day off work (again), empty out the fridge (again), delivery guys remove the back door so they can get the fridge out (again)...and then they start to leave!

Me: "Wait wait wait - where's the replacement fridge?!" Delivery guys: "There's nothing on the work order about that."

So they call the warehouse, find out the fridge is going to arrive there tomorrow and our delivery is scheduled for tomorrow too. Wait - what?!? Something definitely got screwed up because why would we schedule pick up and delivery on different days? Ugh. So nothing we can do and have to wait for tomorrow.

But we have no fridge right then because they had already moved out the damaged one. They tell us they aren't allowed to move the damaged one back in. HOLD ON - WHAT??? I'm sitting there with my counters piled up with food. After yet another call, we finally get them approval to move the damaged fridge back in (which is even more damaged now because they scratched it up).

So I just called customer service to complain and see if they could do anything to compensate me for my troubles, but they can't do anything until there's been a successful delivery. Told to call back tomorrow after the delivery for any compensation, and that compensation was at the discretion of whatever agent I end up talking to. :crazy2:??? The fridge tomorrow better be in perfect working order because I can't keep taking days off for this. I need my days for all my churning-related vacations!!!

I finally got my first direct response from ChaseSupport. It was in the Tweet where I mentioned Citi and how TY points being better than URs was crazy! LOL!

For those that care to see: https://twitter.com/ChaseSupport/status/1097969359698444290

I dunno what these stats mean but some of those initial tweets now have 5,000 and 6,000 impressions and each have over 200 people who "engaged" with the tweets.

Too funny! We were here over Thanksgiving, too, but that's when my lottery luck failed me, LOL. I was so surprised to see three tickets pop up that I grabbed them right away. I can't wait!

I think my kid’s favorite part was The Rock sat in the box seats right behind us! I definitely preferred the London cast over SLC. It’s just such a great show

I opened on 8/20 and the bonus posted 8/27. I promptly removed most of the fund, leaving just the amount that my child had in his WF savings. I then moved his WF savings to my own savings to "pay myself back." So, no min time for the account to hold the $10k...just til the bonus posts.

Thank you for that!

Does anyone have experience booking flights on Allegiant Air? I just booked 4 one-way tickets in a single reservation of just over $500 total. But, they showed up on my CC as 4 separate charges, one for each ticket.

Does anyone know if this is typical for Allegiant, or if there is a way to get future reservations to go through as a single charge? We need to book another one-way with them in July for 4 people, and I was planning to use DH's Arrival+ as a travel eraser. So, all the charges need to be above $100. I'm hoping single tickets might not be that high.
It showed up as a separate charge for each ticket when I purchased thru Allegiant as well.

@Haley R, our forecast is now 6-9 for tomorrow, it just gets better and better.
I just checked and ours is up to 6-10!!! I’m going to go rent the new kingdom hearts game tonight. I put a hold on it at my library but of course the person who has it hasn’t turned it in (it’s 3 days late )

@Haley R, our forecast is now 6-9 for tomorrow, it just gets better and better.

We’re expecting 3-7” in MD tomorrow followed by sleet/ice and then rain at 6 pm. Thurs is supposed to be 50 degrees. One of the counties has already announced their closure. I am sure ours is coming which puts the last day of school at 6/18 now. We leave 6/19 for FL so although I might make DS’s final day 6/15. Just crazy!
