We have to keep the basement door closed because DS has gotten up and tried to open doors looking for the bathroom (which is next to his room) He is never fully awake and never remembers any of it. Last night was an “I can’t go to sleep” night and he kept coming in our room. I think he’ll be 27 before I get to sleep thru the night.

That's what I thought about my son also. He finally just stopped waking up (and waking us up) within the past year or so. He's 11. It will happen.
He also sleepwalks/talks. Sooooo creepy to be woken up with him just standing next to your bed, staring at you.

I may get shunned for this, but DH and our 3 spawns are at the movies seeing the Star Wars movie. While i'm reclining on the couch with my laptop, watching a Harry Potter marathon. I've never been a Star wars fan, but saw all the movies for the sake of family time, up until the last 2. Decided I couldn't sit through any more of them.

Anyone else utilize Amex Fine Hotel and Resorts? I see that the same hotel for the same date is much cheaper through Amex than Chase Luxury Hotel Collection.... anyone know why?

We've booked quite a few stays through FHR over the years and never been disappointed. We don't get upgraded far more than we do, but the included breakfast credits, plus the extra $100 credit (so much better when it's dining vs spa) and the late checkout usually make it a better stay. It's been cheaper than booking directly through the hotel, but I can't compare it to booking through Chase.

Tried Uber Eats for the first time today. Went with Carls, driver was great and 3/5 burgers were right . My favorite messed up one was my burger- it was missing the burger part. Like, Western Bacons are all about the BBQ sauce and onion rings but today I learned the meat is rather important as well! I went in the app and rated my driver and then clicked wherever it was you tell them about problems and told them about my 2 messed up burgers. Refund for them was processed within minutes so that was nice.

Finally approved for DH's SW personal card. Applied 12/12 and have been calling to check on the status daily. It's been stuck at 2 weeks up until yesterday or the day before. We were driving to FL both days and I forgot to check. Logged on to chase today and it shows in his account. Never had an app take so long to be approved. I figured I was running out of available chase credit (haven't lowered them in a while and he has 7 chase cards) but it was approved with a 16K limit so maybe that wasn't the hold up... Anyway, CP here we come!

Does AmEx include the breakfast credits along with the spa credits? I have only used the Chase site when we booked Mandalay Bay but that was before I had any AmEx cards.

Yes only difference is Amex gives you spa credits and Chase gives you food credits. Both have late checkout and upgrades and free breakfast for two people.

I think it's always depended on the property itself. Did that change? We've stayed with both, and have always been able to use the dining credits, but the spa credits are tough to use if we are only staying for a day or two.

During our flights home I got instant approval for 1st SW personal card. I applied for the 2nd card on the first leg of our second day. No instant approval. It was really scary to call for approval. After approval on 2nd card I asked to have it shipped quickly. It just arrived by UPS 20 min ago. That driver should be home with his family.

My boys are coming home soon from their dad's house in the next hour or so and I am thinking of making brownies with them. I have an old kids' brownie recipe that I've made ever since the summer after 3rd grade. It's very basic but we all love it. Considering adding peanut butter and swirling it around. It should work, right?

Left hand! Now why didn't I think of that, lol! I use different wrapping paper too and hide the one "Santa" uses.

DD was just telling me that the tooth fairy gives candy. Apparently, that's what her classmate gets. I was like that makes no sense, the tooth fairy likes clean, no cavity teeth. DD's argument was that it'll make your teeth fall out and the tooth fairy will get more teeth.

My former FIL who was a dentist, always said you can eat candy. Just brush and floss your teeth afterwards.

We "have to" fly out first class (where did all the business class seats go??? my goodness) on November 15 (that was unexpected, as it's a weekend) and right now the return is November 18 so I just need to keep an eye on that.

I had the saved post from reddit (detailed walkthrough) handy and it went exactly as that post said it would. The transfer from Chase to Virgin was instantaneous and I called Virgin back about 2 minutes after my initial phone call, paid my "extra" fees (goodness that's a lot in fees) and off I go. And yes they mentioned the $50 change fee so I'll plan for that in a week or two.

Yay! So glad you were able to get tickets. You are going to love ANA first class. DH and DS still talk about it. Actually, DS is wearing his ANA pjs while we are at Disneyland for Christmas

Merry Christmas all!

My poor DH is recovering from shoulder replacement from last week and has spent all day and now night dozing on the couch. Tomorrow will be the same. It was a voluntary surgery but it makes me extra grateful he is now home and seems to be on the mend. I know all you wonderful people are but continue to be grateful for the relative health of your loved ones; sometimes it is one of those things that is easy to take for granted.

For some reason I feel the need on this thread to always tie a post somehow into credit cards. My girls looked super cute tonight in the matching Christmas Disney pajamas I bought from BJ’s Wholesale with the $25 off when spend $150 deal. So thanks Chase!
