You know girl's soccer ranks higher in injuries! My daughter has played since she was 3 (12 seasons now). The first any only concussion she's had.....She got in gym class during "reindeer games". My son has played hockey since he was 3 ( 7 seasons now) and he broke his elbow at skateboard camp, and then his wrist when his sister stepped on it.

My point is injuries happen probably more often in life, LOL.
I played soccer from 7-12th grade and never had any injuries. I’ve actually never broken a bone though and I was a very active kid. Idk if it’s because I drank a ton of milk (and still do) or what.

can't wait to hear your UNI TR! have fun!

on our HAL cruise my favorite spot was the crows nest....it was a huge room on the top/forward part of the ship, all windows for views, games to borrow and a giant LIBRARYYYY (i'm such a nerd that was my joy that week) I wasn't expecting that! IDK what ships have those tho since I only did it once.
Omg a library on a ship?! Idk if they’d have books I like but that would be my place to be lol

It's a 2017 Kia Niro Touring Hybrid, fully loaded and then some. I guess you would call it a crossover or small Suv. I now have at least two too many vehicles and will probably pare down after my trip.
The Kia had 7200 miles on it, is in perfect condition, has 2 and 1/2 years full warranty remaining, has a heated steering wheel, heated seats, leather and remote start, which I didn't know, wasn't told, isn't listed on the list of features and discovered quite by accident when I managed to start the car from inside my house without realizing it. It has all the tech and I have to spend some serious time learning in the next few days.
I put the first $5K on a 2 % cash back card to get the cash back. Would have put the whole car on the card but they would only go 5K.

Since it's rather small and small mileage, I can see it sitting in a corner while the corporate people drove the bigger offerings - just my imagination, but I'll take what they cast off. It was never a lease and only had the one corporate owner.

Haven't decided if I'll drive it to Florida. One of my friends had to drop off the trip, so there are just two of us. I am kind of liking the idea of 40+ MPG and cutting my fuel costs to a third.
And I've looked at all the options on the Kia website and haven't found remote start yet on the new ones. (I could have missed it.) Next will be to get out the manual. The key fob doesn't say start and the car has push button so I don't know what's going on. This was an option on my 'want' list so I'm really curious.

I have a 2019 Kia Niro Plug-in hybrid and I love it! I still haven't figured out all the bells and whistles on it (apparently I can do remote start but I haven't tried). I loved the heated steering wheel and seat heaters yesterday when it was in the teens outside. I've gone over 4100 miles on 21 gals of gas so far, so I've gotten close to 195 mpg because of the plug in feature and my driving around is mostly on the battery. On hybrid alone it's around 60 mpg. We have solar panels, and surprisingly, I haven't really noticed any notable increase in our electricity usage. It will be interesting to see what happens to the mpg as we head into winter and it gets colder, I expect it will get worse. I thought I would miss my Odyssey more than I do haha.

Sounds like you got a great deal on yours! Our dealer let us put down 5K on a cc too, and I'll be getting almost 10K back as a tax credit from federal and state combined.

Thanks, friend! I appreciate your thoughts. I'm so, so torn! We haven't been since 2014 and they have never been and are NOT disney people. So don't want to totally turn them off, iykwim? "We spent $200 on this!?!?". We can get in at 2pm but gotta sneak that by them since they don't know we are dvc now.... :rotfl2: I think my mom really wants the parade and fireworks. We won't get that any other night. This will be their only MK time too. I'm hoping they have a good time overall and will go back to visit my dd while she's living down there so trying to wow them somehow.
This is totally OT from this discussion (altho I'd go if it was the only MK day) it reminds me of our DL trip a few years back, me planning for the Dis noob side of the family..... I insisted (after reading reports) that we needed to pay for World of Color party to get easy entry, seats, avoid the crowds etc. since we had my MIL with us and I was concerned for her. Well....I'm still hearing from the peanut gallery over that decision..... (it was badly run,we stood in a long long long line with crowds, etc,it was so not worth it) 'I can't believe we paid for nothing! wow that was overpriced'....you know. stuff like that..... I ignore it lol but it annoys me,since I forewarned them I was working based on info from other sources,I don't have a crystal ball! I guess I've been forgiven since then but they haven't forgotten that extra $80 pp:rotfl2:

We have APs that expire in April and are planning a trip for 7. I got our SW flights yesterday and like others, had the flights increase as I purchased them in sets of 1-2. I went in to check again this morning and was able to rebook and get around 7,000 points back this morning.
I wanted to get my fam to try this, but the issue is they have young kids, and they can't do too many grouping,so stuck with 4 + CP (mom) the kids are under 11,so he has no choice (unless I'm mistaken) As it was, it slowed my Dsis down a LOT b/c she got her own, then to buy one of the kids, had to input all the extra info for guardian, by the time that was done ticket price jumped.... argh! at least its's done. Next big family trip is gonna be a sale time in summer! this is too much for me

It's your generation. No offense, but y'all have literally been bubble wrapped, LOL. I had a get to know you activity I've used in my 20 years of teaching. It asks who's broken more than 5 bones, and who's broken none. In the beginning I had lots w/ broken bones, and almost none w/ no broken bones, LOL. Now it's the flip. I have no students w/ multiple broken bones, and almost all have never broken any. I take the opportunity then to show them all the safety products out there now (Engineering overlap) for babies. And I often chose the crazy ones, like pants w/ built in kneepads for crawling, LOL.

I didn’t break bones as a kid but I got tons of scars. My shins and knees are covered in scars. I ran into a wall and had to go to the ER because I cracked my forehead open. I still have the scar and crack in my skull. I’m definitely not in that bubble wrapped generation. I think I’m a little before that. My brother tore his ACL when he was young riding his skateboard.

Yeah. This is pretty much what I’m forecasting as well :crazy2:

I swear.....these"bargain" websites I frequent and FB group I'm in are killing me (but helping me hit my Hilton Biz spend, LOL). I just jumped on the Zulily offer on $13.99 boots. And I had a free shipping code. So I just got 2 pairs for $27! I've been buying a bunch of clothes (thanks to the FB group) off amazon lately as well. I'm "justifying it" as still replacing clothes from the weight loss, LOL. And more recently my friend and I have joked, we have to "invest" in ourselves to land our next guy :rotfl2: I mean I started to have a standard "first date" outfit this summer (a dress I had gotten at target). Since it seems that all was getting was 1st dates and then they fall off the earth, LOL. But now I have a few guys I've been chatting for a month....so now I need more than one outfit, LOL.

Yeah. This is pretty much what I’m forecasting as well :crazy2:
it's one of the perks of planning for family :rotfl2: I think you'll still have fun....just go in with a plan. Have your inlaws distracted when you show your dvc card!:rotfl:

Does anyone have experience taking the motherlode Junior from eBags on a spirit flight as your personal item? It wouldn’t be stuffed full, closer to the size of a regular backpack with just plane necessities.

No experience with spirit and don't know their rules. But the motherlode junior is still rather big for a backpack. It does fit under the seat in SW planes though. :D

@LilSweetPeaPhoto @DisneyMandC Thanks so much for your input. Booked the 6 of us for April in and out of NWR for 141k AA miles+ $67. We are borrowing an apartment so no hotel cost. SO EXCITED!!! As the kids get older, Christmas gifts get harder and harder and this is going to be their big one. I’ve been there twice for NYE and it was freezing such that this Miami girl was miserable. Looking forward to actually getting to know the city.

That looks awesome! I loved taking the train all over Europe and despite a horrible overnight trip where we kept having to move cars on a completely packed train because the whole train wasn't going to the final destination I'd love to do it again. This trip looks just a little more upscale! Australia is on DH's bucket list...maybe someday. Love to hear how it goes next year.
Thanks!
In other news, I found a used car a couple of days ago that appealed to me. My taste in cars varies wildly from SUV's to huge conversion vans for camping and now I have a Hybrid. It's a 2017 Kia Niro Touring Hybrid, fully loaded and then some. I guess you would call it a crossover or small Suv. I now have at least two too many vehicles and will probably pare down after my trip.

We bought the 2019 Kia Niro (non-touring) hybrid in April. Dh is getting 55-60 mpg and fills up once a month now, instead of once a week.

I'm planning on a plug-in to replace my 2002 Grand Caravan, but I need to wait a year or two. I've mentioned before that I'd love to get VW's reimagined-to-electric Bus whenever it becomes available. I really want something that with a long range so we can roadtrip in it!

@Judique we'll be driving our Niro down to WDW in March :car:
