Just woke up early and caught up as quickly as possible on the posts today. Probably missed a lot because I skimmed quite a bit.

I'll be leaving for Disney on Saturday, but meanwhile I was online looking to add a few days to my Feb 2020 trip. I'm very experienced at booking DVC, but made a little booboo. I found Feb 11 and 12 at Bay Lake and got ready to jump on it. To do this I had to shorten my November trip by a day or borrow from Oct 2020. So I canceled the last day of my upcoming trip and then went to book February and realized I now had holding points, which can only be used 60 days in advance. I just didn't think as I know the rules. Lucky for me it was only 21 points.

Fortunately it was only one nights worth and I was still able to get the night of February 11 and already had February 10. I would have had to borrow to book Feb 12 so decided to let it go for now. Looking this morning, Feb 12 is still available but my points wouldn't be any good until December. So, I used 20 of the points to book 2 nights at Vero Beach. Not sure I will keep them, but we will see how I feel after my time at WDW. If I cancel I will set a waitlist for Feb 12 once Dec 12 rolls around, or maybe just book a random night 'sometime' before next October and rent it out.

It's on here. I actually have a cat that is an Astros fan. She will sit and watch them play, but if it's other teams she has no interest at all.

DH grew up an Astros fan. My first MLB game was the Nats first season at their new stadium (had to pick DH up from work for some reason and he worked right by the stadium so we just decided to go on a whim since we were all right there). I could be happy either way it goes, but it'd be much better in my house if Astros take it back.
Sorry ladies, @Artygal90 @wendow. it was nice to see the underdog win and make history as the only team to win by all away games.

In other news, I found a used car a couple of days ago that appealed to me. My taste in cars varies wildly from SUV's to huge conversion vans for camping and now I have a Hybrid. It's a 2017 Kia Niro Touring Hybrid, fully loaded and then some. I guess you would call it a crossover or small Suv. I now have at least two too many vehicles and will probably pare down after my trip.
The Kia had 7200 miles on it, is in perfect condition, has 2 and 1/2 years full warranty remaining, has a heated steering wheel, heated seats, leather and remote start, which I didn't know, wasn't told, isn't listed on the list of features and discovered quite by accident when I managed to start the car from inside my house without realizing it. It has all the tech and I have to spend some serious time learning in the next few days.

Where did you find it? I'm thinking about getting a used car for Sebastian.

Ok, I'm ticked at Chase today too. I thought I had paid the statement balance on the 26th due the 28th. Just checked and only the auto minimum payment posted. Probably my fault I probably forgot to hit the confirm button. But I called Chase to see if I paid today if they would waive the interest and they won't commit or make a comment on the account until the statement closes on the 4th and the interest actually hits. Grrr, I didn't want to pay the balance if I'm paying interest too. Oh well my fault I'm sure.

I did the same thing on the Happy card! I think it was 10% off a $100, plus I waited to long to buy it and the 4 x points at Kroger expired so I only got 2 x, but I did get 4x MR by default, haha.
Glad you got the 4X MR at least. And oh well, it’s not the end of the world, just $150 in Disney gift card with out any bonus or going towards any MSR 🤓

Thoughts on a MVMCP...we *were* planning to go on Dec 15. We've only been to one party, ever, and that was a MVMCP back in 2014. I keep reading how busy the parties are and people are done with them and don't feel it's worth it. I'm so torn over what to do. My mom and stepdad are joining us on this trip. They've not been to wdw in 8-9 years and I talked my mom into doing the party. She's so excited about the parade and seeing the park decorated at night. There are parties 3 of our 4 nights there and I think the one night there is no party at MK is our Epcot night since dd is singing in the CP. I just don't know what to do. If it is going to be totally crazy, I need to talk my mom in a different direction but I know she will be disappointed. As will my kids. As will dh & I....

I think it's all about expectations. We're going into fri, which is sold out with thr following plan - meet elvis stitch, ride space in the dark, see thr parade and fireworks and trick or treat as lines allowed. Any other party specific stuff we're able to do would be great but not a priority.

I also think if you can get tix with an ap discount that helps too. I've been to 2 sold out mvmcp and had fun both times and was able to get my few must dos done.

That stinks, but glad it wasn’t too many points that went into holding.

We leave for WDW this Friday after work. I am so ready to go escape reality! I know we just got back from vacation nearly 3 weeks ago but I've been working 6 days a week since then and adding night classes for a number of 17 hour days now, tonight will be another one. It will be the first time in 16 years we aren't doing MNSSHP. Not because of the crowds, simply because I couldn't take off another day to make it work. We will be using Disney GCs to pay for dining that were purchased for 5x URs with the Ink+ card at OD. Disney trips are the only time we don't use the Rose Gold card for dining. I'm really excited about my girly Mickey Halloween nail art so I'm gonna share. Normally I do Jack & Sally nails or HM so this is out of character for me.

Where did you find it? I'm thinking about getting a used car for Sebastian.

I was very casually looking at new GMC Acadia's to possibly replace my Jeep which older daughter has been driving. Just starting a search and my searches are usually pretty detailed. I've looked at hybrids in the past but although Toyota is a great vehicle, our family has only owned one in all my life and that was a free one a neighbor was sending for scrap (a family member fixed it up and used it for 3 years). The Prius just never appealed.

The dealer had this one sitting up front and I asked 'what's that' casually. Took a look inside and left it be. Later on took DD up to look with me and we both liked all the features. Took it for a test drive and got a good price well below blue book, nada, etc and then just paid cash. Easier than messing with financing and I would have wanted to pay it off right away anyway. I didn't tell him how I was going to pay until he committed to a price, but I did ask how much on a credit card. I put the first $5K on a 2 % cash back card to get the cash back. Would have put the whole car on the card but they would only go 5K.

But, dealers lie. The salesman said the car had been on the lot 17 days. I saw it on the internet and it had '18 views in 7 days'. So he says to me, 'we just got this in. Only had it three days. These fly off the lot.' I guess he wanted me to feel like I was hopping on a deal. I think I got a deal, but the real deal is to pay a fair price and get a good product that performs. This was a corporate fleet car according to Carfax. Since it's rather small and small mileage, I can see it sitting in a corner while the corporate people drove the bigger offerings - just my imagination, but I'll take what they cast off. It was never a lease and only had the one corporate owner.

Haven't decided if I'll drive it to Florida. One of my friends had to drop off the trip, so there are just two of us. I am kind of liking the idea of 40+ MPG and cutting my fuel costs to a third.
And I've looked at all the options on the Kia website and haven't found remote start yet on the new ones. (I could have missed it.) Next will be to get out the manual. The key fob doesn't say start and the car has push button so I don't know what's going on. This was an option on my 'want' list so I'm really curious.

That stinks, but glad it wasn’t too many points that went into holding.

Thanks. Right now I have 1 holding point, unless I release the 2 nights at Vero. I really don't know if I'll go or not, but can cancel right up to Nov 12, I think it is. I know that's the day you arrive and I will be leaving BWV that morning now. Not sure we can connect or not, yet. I'm full of changes, lol. edit: I forgot to add I'm also at GFV for the night of Nov 12, checking out on the 13th, and either heading to Vero or going towards Maryland, depending on my whims. I caught that night on the fly during one of my many times watching the DVC site. I like those rooms a lot for short stays. Prefer BW for longer stays.

I book marked this and may try to do a somewhat simple version with help from my friend! I'm thinking the pinky/mauve ones with the stars.

Love your nails! Have a great trip! I feel the same way, sooooo ready for a vacation. Haven’t been on one since March though. We leave on 11/12.

I'm hoping you guys can help me. I'm no stranger to bargain hunting but I just never got into MS or CC flight points offers. My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy (basing out of Rome) in May 2020 and I am looking at flights. We live in Wilmington, NC and can fly out of Charlotte, Raleigh, Myrtle Beach or Charleston without too much extra time being added to the trip. Right now Expedia out of Raleigh seems my best bet. Is it even too late to play the points game? Id have to apply and meet the spend for whatever card. And what kind of trade off could I expect? If its too late to do or get a meaningful discount from playing the CC points game does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy tickets? Someone elsewhere suggested Googleflights and while they did give me different flight options their base prices were 30% more expensive than Expedia. Hoping for business class or better so that we can hopefully get some sleep on the flight. Also hoping for only one connection, preferably in the US so we only have to do customs once outbound. Thanks for any advice that can be offered.

Ebags has their Motherlode backpacks for very good prices today. TopCashBack has 15% back.
Thank you so much, you saved me $20. Returning the Amazon one I bought for this one. :)
Oh awesome, seems like lots of choices! I’ll probably be full from the meals but I’m sure Dh will like having snacks whenever he wants one. Do you get most of those by the pool?
I never even got the chance to try the pizza I was so full from everything else!
Another vote for Cove Cafe. Last cruise I had to ask the person at the counter, as they kept them in the back, but they were always willing to bring me out a tray of beautiful pastries and assorted chocolate goodies. Also a nice quiet place to sit and enjoy your treats
Dont forget the savory snacks after 4-5 pm.
Happy Birthday, there are a lot of Oct birthdays, guess I never realized that.
January is a cold, dark month most places. LOL
Walking through MCO with two laptops (YES, you heard me… two) in my “personal item” made me realize I need to get a new backpack for flying. I no longer want to physically wear one. I need something that sits nicely on my carry-on. Too bad the Amex Ebags offer is gone and I don’t have a Chase one. Considering the "Professional Flight Laptop Backpack:" https://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/professional-flight-laptop-backpack/348313 I know the Motherlode series is popular, but I didn’t see straps for it to sit on my suitcase? :confused3
The Motherlode Weekend doesnt have the traditional Valet sleeve but you could tighten the backpack straps and put those over your suitcase. An idea if you dont have any places locally that carry the Motherlode is to order from Amazon and test fit it. Should be a free return if you have Prime (or know someone that does and you could used their account).
That is amazing!

The parade is great and hopefully the new fireworks are good, but the Halloween ones fell a little flat for me. Not bad, but just different. Hopefully you can sneak them in easily without making a big deal over the DVC card. If you keep them in other areas besides the hub for parts of the night it may be fine. Although that fake snow with the lights on the castle is pretty great to experience!

can DVC get in earlier? We are going in Dec and have a party planned for a day we have an AP blackout date. I thought 4pm was the earliest you could enter but would our DVC card get us in sooner?

I told Dh I hope none of our kids want to play football. Dh got a huge knee injury from football in sixth grade and had a third of his knee taken out. My cousin got a concussion in high school.

You know girl's soccer ranks higher in injuries! My daughter has played since she was 3 (12 seasons now). The first any only concussion she's had.....She got in gym class during "reindeer games". My son has played hockey since he was 3 ( 7 seasons now) and he broke his elbow at skateboard camp, and then his wrist when his sister stepped on it.

My point is injuries happen probably more often in life, LOL.
