Thanks for the reminders that the Amex offer of spend $75 on Amazon, get 1,500 MRs works for gift card balance reloads. Just did this for each of my kid's AU Plat cards that had the offer and got the confirmation emails that the offers have been used

Losing roadside assistance is a big deal for me. With six drivers, AAA adds up (not all of us have it anymore), plus the AmEx service has been better than AAA a few times when my daughter has needed her car jump started--she lives in a cold climate with no garage, and last year during a run of super cold weather, AAA told her they were only taking emergencies for the next three days. AmEx had someone out in 20 minutes.

I think I’m going to get a debit for every checking account I have. I’m kicking myself that I missed the Walmart baby seat deal for the $30 gift card but this offer will get me a huge amount of my Christmas shopping done at 50% off. Wait, are the debits tied to accounts or do they tie it to social security numbers? I have 4 accounts vs only 2 SS # (husband and I).

Plastiq question - I did the offer where you make a 2k payment, get 2k fee free dollars. Payment has been sent out, but the program I'm paying always takes FOREVER to deposit checks. So, they probably already have the check, but it won't get cashed for another 2 or 3 weeks. That won't impact whether I get the fee free dollars, right? As long as it was processed by 9/30 they should show up? Does it take a little while for them to show in your account?

I had to upgrade for work -- they developed an app and I couldn't find it on iTunes with iOS12. Once I upgraded to iOS13 it was there. I hate it -- the autocorrect is crazy. Yealink keeps autocorrecting to Yelling and Laval was something really weird. Those are just the ones I remember. Can't wait for iOS13.1 to fix the bugs. At least I can access the app I need for work.

Wow! I am so sorry. My company actually e-mailed iOS users daily before the release NOT to upgrade because some of our apps may not be supported. My VPN token app keeps yelling at me that my device is not compliant and wants me to upgrade. Oh well!

them depositing check timeframe shouldnt matter. Only when u made the check purchase is what counts.

Check your Amex Offers!

DoC is reporting that more people have been targeted with the save on your cell phone bill offer, but this time it’s only 10% back, up to $10 (spend $100 to max out).

I checked and didn't get this second 10% back offer, which would've stacked with the first 20% back offer; so maybe it's targeted at cardmembers who didn't get the first offer?

Well, you lasted longer than DH. He had a blog about his experience using Apple products, but a couple of years ago it went from being positive with some critique for Apple and advice for users to being pretty negative - so negative that he stopped writing it since he felt like he wasn't putting anything positive out into the world. It's been 3 years since we upgraded our phones. We're still all Apple here (laptops, TV, phones, etc.) but I don't think you could call us fans.

Wow! What a shift. It really makes you think what a company is doing when diehard fans question new products. Althought the 11s had ship dates slip past release faster than the XS so I guess something is working? I may just be the 11 vs the S upgrade cycle.

I'm sure it will be fine. Once we had to r/s flights d/t weather and went from comfort + to regular economy on DL and I was completely freaked out about it ...and it was just fine. You'll probably be so ready for home and your own bed it won't bother you. And- you can provide a review for us!

I really wouldn't stress about it. It's on the way home, and isn't that long of a flight, right? My issue is that I'm on the plane for 12+ hours and at that point I get picky. Plus when the trip is over I just want to get home asap.

Thank you both. It’s a 7 hr 15 min flight on Rouge to Toronto. Then a smaller regional type jet from Toronto to Detroit for a little over an hour. We get in around 2pm our time so at least not getting back super late.

LOL, I put it on the card that I haven't used recently-for me that's usually a flavor of Bonvoy.

this is such a confusing policy....it appears you can't do this...which makes me nervous using AA..... but as long as your origin and destination are the same it works? Does it work on cash reservations too?

I looked on the website some more and I think it depends on what kind of fare you book, as well as having the same origin and destination and rebooking within a year. The points can be refunded as long as it’s not the most discounted fare. At least that’s my understanding of it now.

I've totally rebooked award flights w/ AA. You can do it at anytime, but has to be the same to/from. If you booked reduced mileage awards (which 95% of my flight are) the airports either have to still be discounted on your new dates, or you have to pay the difference in miles. Cash you fall victim to whatever your ticket rules for rebooking are.

Thank you, I didn’t realize that. That’s nice to know too that you can still book even if the miles are more and just make up the difference. At least that still leaves them useable.
