Watched this adorable movie last night!

In non churning news, I just ordered an overpriced sweatshirt for DD from Saks to use the Amex Platinum benefit. Annual fee should hit soon and once the credit clears I plan to close.

Darling Granddaughter is wearing the shoes I ordered using my daughter's Sak's offer for her first day of preschool today. They were an on sale item at the time but pretty in tune with school shoes. I ordered them last January when daughter was in hospital and I was trying to manage her cards and offers in her absence.

Can you book a room & car and get the double points? I thought there had to be a flight included.

Good thought on booking the flight from somewhere else!!
No you have to book a flight reservation for the double points. So either a throwaway flight or canceling for a voucher would be your best bet. However, the voucher you get back can be applied to a non flight reservation.

So book any flight (one person) to MCO. Book the room you want (so the price is equivalant) and compare your original plan (cheap flight to throwaway and add family to booking) vs canceling outright with the added insuranced and rebooking with the voucher a hotel/transfer package. Go with whatever is cheaper

Going for CitiAA Biz 2, do I use the same email or should I change it up?

I've used the same one every time. I've changed my login each time though. Honestly don't know if that matters or not.

We just watched the short film festival for the first time at Epcot and I loved it! I can’t believe we’ve never done that before. How often do they switch the movies?

Which ones did they show? We did at DL last year and loved it!

@wendow looks like no additional charge on Delta for Disney rooms for extra peeps. What are your dates? What resorts? Depending on price dictates the cancelation fee charge - For a $4000 package is was $232 for a $1600 package is was $93
Well, we were thinking about Jan 15-19 but now my dd17 may be singing in the CP in Dec. Those dates are Dec 11-16.

This trip you have time to stop and smell the roses since you didn't get a chance to plan every minute. Glad to see you enjoying yourself! Is Thursday your go home day or was it Friday?

@wendow
From Delta's site
  • Travel certificate cannot be redeemed for an Delta Vacations reservation with the same origin and destination and the same departure and arrival dates as the original trip that the travel certificate was issued for.
  • Must be redeemed through Delta Vacations and is not valid for redemption through Delta Air Lines or its website, delta.com.
So if you go the voucher route alter your dates so there are no issues using the travel certificate!

I haven't changed anything from application to application and had no issues. Are you using a mailer or risking the public offer?
Tks. Risking a public, but changing a few things. Looks like EIN is optional and I used that on the first, so leaving it off this time. Did not use middle initial on first, so going to use it this time.

Are you planning to "test" the MSR with some sort of refundable charge to see if the points post first?

Yep. Will update as soon as I know if it works.

Not instant approval. Do we know what 7-10 means for Citi?
Just that you went pending - it doesn't indicate likelihood of approval at all. It happens a lot with AA biz cards, the crazies on r/churning would advise you to call immediately to recon. My preference is to wait it out a few days and it usually takes care of itself.

OK so much to my surprise DH was OK with me trying the Delta package. It seemed to good to pass up!

I booked a "throwaway" flight (ATL-MCO) and 2 nights at a value (to get Disney tix a 60 days) for October. I put all 4 of us down and got 4 flexible park hoppers 10 days (delta was even doing a 2 day free promotion so it was the price of an 8 day hopper). The total was $3900, so I cashed out 200,000 MRs to = 200K skymiles. That included the $232 travel protection fee. I will get back a voucher for $826 (hotel and flight price). I will then take that voucher and use it to book a room only reservation once we decide on exact dates. Probably April 2020. Hopefully I can upgrade to AP's, I see no reason why not. I spoke with Delta and they will be mailing the park tickets to me tomorrow, so once I have those in my hand I will cancel the reservation. Even if I can't upgrade in my mind it cost me the equivalant of $1200 for 4 10 day park tickets, on the Disney site the are $2500 for the days.
Looks like I can cancel the reservation online. I'm not sure how the voucher works - if it gets mailed to me or I'm given a code. I will update later in the week what happens with that.
In the meantime I am going to book another package and deplete my MRs. A $1500 throwaway package costs $93 for protection (and can use miles at x2 to pay for that) and I will cash out my last 75K MR's and use the voucher towards Disney rooms in April. I may be a new Delta Fan Girl
I am so tempted to do this, but the uncertainty around the tickets is stopping me.... We need tickets for a Nov 2020 trip (ideally to bridge to a DVC AP) and we could use the Delta credit for another trip next year.

Fun! It's such a lovely time to be there. We've only been once in December and it really was extra magical. Just cold. Very cold:cold:

It’s going to be crazy since there are 20 of us with my sister and brothers families
We have been a few times in December...once it was really cold....last year was ok....we usually go the week before Christmas and come home on the 24th....to celebrate Christmas with our son who lives there...
