I don't even know what to do with my Bonvoy certs. I've got this one expiring in a month that I'm hoping to extend...

They all come in at different times, unfortunately. Jan 3, June 2, Sept 5, and Nov 2 for 35k certs. Assuming Sept 26 for a 50k from upgrading to Lux. I could use them on a visit home, that saves me $85/night over a weekend I'm looking at when there is a family wedding. While technically not full AF value, if I go back exactly a year from today, I've saved $1200 in AMEX offers over our SPG cards....

If I can't extend the expiring one, my choices are basically, use at an Orlando Marriott property either on arrival night or before flying out early in the morning for SWGE Previews, push to use it in one of those ways Labor Day weekend (but currently I have a WDW reservation for the exact days I need so I expect that would be hard to alter now), or... one night getaway within driving distance? :confused3 The bummer is I could easily fit it in to the HHN trip now... if it was good for 13 more days!
You should be able to book a stay and call in to ask them to extend the cert and apply it to your stay. AFAIK no way to do it without calling.

Any idea how long to wait after closing to reapply?
Given recent DPs the more time the better maybe?? I usually do it a month apart since as I said, I cancel immediately after the 2nd stmt.
Should be 10,000 points via a support link. Idk if the Hilton Cards you have can be used to “support” to it. But once you have the BBP you can “support” to any Amex card and get 15,000 points per “supportal”
Love all the lovely use of support variations!! 😍

I got an offer to upgrade my SW Premier card to the Priority card and would receive 5k RR bonus points for 1 purchase by 9/30. I'm trying to decide whether to go for this or not. Does anyone know when the higher AF posts for this? Is it prorated? My last AF was charged on 2/1. I plan on closing this card after the next AF posts and (hopefully) my anniversary points post. I would get 5k RR bonus, plus an adt'l 1500 RR on my anniversary. I plan on booking more than 3 Early bird check-ins, so I would use the $75 annual travel credit (question - is this card year or calendar year? I might be able to double-dip if calendar year).

The only thing is I am planning on going for the new SW biz card in Nov and the other biz card in Feb for the CP in 2020-2021 if it's still possible. If it's not, my fall back plan would be to get one personal card in Feb/Mar as it will have been 24 months since my last personal bonus. Would taking this upgrade affect the personal anniversary clock? I don't think so, but want to make sure. Thanks for any input!

No experience here, I figured these FN certificates lasted a year?
Are you implying that it would be better to time FN-earning card applications to say, early Fall, if I would use them mostly in the Fall/Winter time-frame?
They are good for a year technically. It will depend on the card issuer if you are trying to time them... AMEX is taking 8-12 weeks after anniversary to deposit the free night in your account. Chase seems to be almost exactly on the anniversary date. I'm not sure about Hilton. Here's an example of my SPG cards:
  • Anniversary 8/16, FN 11/2
  • Anniversary 10/16, FN 1/3
  • Anniversary 3/13, FN 6/2
  • Anniversary 6/26, FN assuming 9/12
  • Anniversary 8/27, FN assuming 11/13
You should be able to book a stay and call in to ask them to extend the cert and apply it to your stay. AFAIK no way to do it without calling.
Ahhh, that's even better if I can just try to get them to extend and apply it. I'll book it today then and then call... should book on points I assume?

I missed this latest round of upgrades, and decided to upgrade no matter what back in June. My AF posted 6/1, refunded right away after I upgraded, haven't had the new AF charged yet. I believe it should be prorated in your case. $75 credit and the upgraded boarding spots are per cardmember year.

I’m not sure it matters but that’s what I did. My cert expired at end of May, needed it for a week later. Had already booked and tried to apply 6 months ahead but denied. Waited until closer in, maybe 6-8 weeks ahead and no problem

So it seems like we can’t refer ourselves with the Hilton cards.
Right now there is only the targeted offer @Lain shared in this post unless you have a non co-branded Amex to refer from.

Thanks. I tried that offer and it told me it’s no longer available. I’m not sure if I should get the BBP since I wouldn’t get any sign up bonus or support points. I’m leaning towards no but we’re almost done with dh’s CIP3 MSR and can’t have another chase card until 9/4. I need an MSR! Lol

I got the same message, but they never contacted me. Did you check your application status.? I would check it everyday you’ll eventually get approved or denied.

Did you get approved? I just re-read the e-mail they sent me and it reads:
Dear *WDW*Groupie*,
Thank you for your recent AAdvantage® Aviator® Business Mastercard® application.

Just confirming with the resident experts- there is no sort of way to pay for Disneyland park tickets with any sort of rewards or points or anything, right? My non- DL fall plans just dissipated so I am thinking of acquiescing to my younger son's (12) request to go to DL since he usually goes twice a year and he hasn't been in awhile.

Yes after 8 days. I was on a thread on another forum regarding this card. I honestly can’t remember which forum maybe flyer talk. Anyway it seem like most people that got denied were denied instantly or within the first 24 hours. The approvals were either instant or anywhere between 1 to 10 days.

Citi TY points. Travel credit on CSR if bought from UCT or similar. Otherwise 3x points on CSR from UCT.

I don’t think so. Maybe a cash back card.
