Anyone done the DVC tour onsite? Dh doesn’t want to do it but I’m very tempted to for the gc and FPS. We know we won’t buy DVC and that’s why he doesn’t want to do it. Should I convince him to do it?

Its low pressure. I have done them twice. Once for a $100 gift card and then I just did it for a $150 gift card

I am driving to CHS Sunday for a week with my 3 littles. I have to go back last weekend in July for my grandma's bday party with 2 of the littles. Flights on SW are about $700 for the 3 of us (incl CP) BUT I just discovered allegiant goes to savannah nonstop for $66 ROUND TRIP that Fri-Mon. I am seriously tempted to do this. Anyone have any terrible allegiant stories? Just a short weekend and quick flight. If it were cancelled I could drive (though trying to avoid that.)

DH has a Citi Biz. Need some more AA points for a few nights at Disney. We've each only had 1 card, so just want to double check some things... Looking at getting the same Biz card.
#1 - His first offer was for 40k points and a $200 stmt credit for AA. Can I purchase an AA Gift Card? I would either use or sell later.
#2 - Should I close out his account before applying for #2 (do I need to wait a certain amount of time between the two)?
#3 - The 90 days, is it from approval or bonus?

Oh no, I just looked one of mine is 737-700 and the other (return) is a Max 8. What happens if they cancel my flight? Do they put us on another flight or is that up to us to figure out?

They rebooked us a different flight, same day. I was able to go in and switch to any flight I wanted (same airports within 14 days) at no extra cost.

We toured in 2015 with the same intentions that we weren't going to purchase and the $150 gift card/ice cream/FPS were just a bonus. A week later we purchased. Good luck if you decide to go!

Well we aren’t doing the tour. Dh is completely against going. I thought the free FPS and gcs would be nice but he said it’s a waste of his time and ruins his vacation. He’s kind of an introvert and doesn’t like feeling pressured

We did it 19 years ago when we bought DVC....

Not sure how DVC works with assigning the tours to guides...but my son worked for Wyndham selling timeshares when he first moved to Orlando...the salespeople are ranked each day by sales and depending on how many tours there are each day you usually got one or if you were at the bottom sometimes none...every now and then two
Knowing this I just can’t do a timeshare tour when I know in advance I am definitely not buying...since they only get paid on sales and if they don’t sell a certain amount get fired

I am hoping to get CP status with in a month. And was going to rebook my DH's flight as my companion. That will probably make it more complicated if our flight gets cancelled. Oh well, I will figure it out if it happens. But one thing I know is I don't want to drive.

My DH was my companion on the flight....I called as soon as the text notification came and the hold time was 30 minutes ...

Went online to rebook while on hold
what I had to do was put his confirmation number and name in to cancel his flight first
then put my information in and change to an open flight
Then add my DH back as my companion on the new flight

That's exactly what I was going to say. To rebook with a companion, either because of cancellation or price change, go into your acct and cancel your companion first. Then alter your flight and add companion again. Make note of your companion's flight number and when you cancel you can have the $5.60 held as travel funds, then apply it to the rebooked companion fare.

I use one of my older kids to check price changes using that link, rebook them as needed. Then do the companion cancel thing for DH and myself.

Correct, or just answer their phone call when they call, which I never do if the phone number is not in my contacts. I've applied in the morning and get approved in the afternoon.

Crap, I didn't even think when I made flights for a hockey tourney to look at the aircraft. I have my DH and DS9 on a max8 to MDW both ways. Ugghhh. Prices have doubled since I booked. Think I should just wait it out and hope they still aren't in the air by then or change it now? Flights are 10/31 and 11/4. I have no plans for any of us to fly a max8 anytime soon, if ever. Crap, crap, crap. I think I may wait it out with the assumption they will have to change the aircraft and if they don't we will just drive and that way I can go too with the other kids.

I’d wait it out too. Fwiw personally I feel that by the time these various pissed off at Boeing pilots are done testing this sucker it could be one of the safest planes out there...

I didn't check what plane type we were on, I don't think it was a Max8 because I do recall looking for that previously and none of our flights were Max8. They canceled the entire flight, it no longer appears.

I think if they have time to rebook you, they will do that, then you can alter it. If it's too close to your travel time, they probably won't rebook you. Not entirely sure, but makes sense.

That’s what we got it was $150 because SO and I both went. I like the tours and think it’s fun seeing the rooms

My parents flew them a couple times for 1-1.5 hours but I haven’t. Biggest issue for them was the noise and uncomfortable seats. But the deal they got was amazing so they said they’d do it again but not for flights longer than that. Oh- they were delayed once for hours and that was concerning because being a small airline they can’t just shift you to another flight if something goes wrong.

I don't even want to mention it out loud so fingers crossed that wet, windy storm fronts that hit the east coast in your travel window each year doesn't screw anything up for you (which I'd be crossing fingers for anyway, regardless of the current situation)

I’m glad I didn’t go on this trip with DH. He had a connection in Chicago and was diverted to Indianapolis. Sat there for awhile to refuel and wait for Chicago to start up again. Thought he was going to miss connecting flight but since they all were delayed he was just going to make it. Is now on 3rd delay for connecting flight. Hopefully he does not get in not too late tonight as we have to drive to DC super early in the AM to get DD. Ughhh. Hopefully her flights will go smoother.

That's literally the sole reason I'm getting trip insurance haha. Ironically, one of the storms shares my name, so I just KNOW if one of them hits, it'll be that one! I am crossing my fingers it doesn't either, but honestly as long as I can get TO Disney, I don't mind having to ride it out there if necessary. I figure probably the best place to be during a hurricane is Disney!
