You're welcome, sometimes I wonder if I should post when I'm so behind...Yes, a small one by the pool. I did not use it, but my boys did.

I'm planning to stay there this winter, so I appreciate you following up and posting.

Holy cannoli Chase really likes me. After an instant approval that I was actually sweating, Chase just approved me for the SW Priority card with a 20k+ credit limit :faint:

This is uncharted territory in this household. My first SW card oh so many years ago came with a 2k credit limit when I was routinely getting 5-10k limits on other cards. When hubby got his, I think he was given 3k when again he had been getting 5k+ limits with way higher income reported than when he got those other cards. In Feb I got the SW Biz and again, I got the minimum limit of 5k for that card. Just figured it's a thing between us and SW, and no big deal, how much will I really put on the card? (Not much) So a little taken aback to join the ranks of you good folks here that have double digit CL's on these cards

So this is literally hubby's nightmare that I came home with another new CC to use after just getting one, but I handle all the spends anyway so what difference does it make if I put it on one card or two? Unfortunately we are spending great gobs of money anyway, may as well maximize the points we're going to get from it. This does mean we WILL be using a CC to pay our property taxes and incurring a small fee to do it. At most it'll be $65 which seems like a reasonable price to pay for a couple years worth of SW points, so I decided to do it.

All in it will be $235 (the $65 in CC fees, $75 effectively for the SW AF, and $95 for the CIP AF) which will bring us $800-$1200 worth of UR points and roughly $800 worth of SW flights + CP until Dec 2020. Still sounds like a Nigerian prince scam but I'll take it :)

Thanks @Lain for the advice on getting Chase to report my CL's off cycle!
Timeline for others thinking of doing this:
6/3 (Mon) I had lowered my limits on 2 cards to drop me to 40% of HHI
6/4 (Tue) Payment that brought both cards down to $0 balance posted
6/6 This is the date Experian is showing the CL decrease alert posting
6/7 (Fri) Received notice from Experian that my credit limit decreased

I've seen some advice in places that Chase reports $0 balances same day, and who knows maybe they do and it takes a bit to process, but better to follow Lain's caution to wait a few days before applying.

I'm now back to 5/24, that was fun while it lasted

P2's AA statement closed yesterday after we applied for Business card #3 w/out a mailer (but it was for a different offer than previous 2), and I see the bonus points are on the statement. :)

Congrats! Do you mind sharing more details? When were #1, #2, and #3 opened? Was #2 without a mailer also? Are they all still open? Did you use FNLN and SSN for all 3 apps? Dummy booking or not? Did you ask for a match?

“Frugality be darned” Love it! I’m trying not to adopt this as a mantra for our trip!! But yes, tours are $$$.

Me: Wants to use points and miles to mitigate the out of pocket cost of travel.

Also me: Books 11th Adventures by Disney trip to Japan with the fleeting thought *this should earn lots of point and miles for mitigating out of pocket costs on future travel*

I'm just curious. Why did you need to lower your credit limits?

Slightly :offtopic:

Can anyone recommend a good route planning tool? Something where I can plot all of our stops, calculate a route and then modify to hit a more scenic path if needed? We’re doing a road trip next month from San Francisco to Yosemite to Vegas to San Simeon and returning up the coast to San Francisco. We’ve done a similar path before but I’m trying to show our traveling companions in England what the route looks like and a chance for them to give input. So far I’ve tried Google Maps and Furkot. Thanks!!

Edited to add: if anyone has any must see spots we should hit along the way or a preferred route I’m definitely open to suggestions and new ideas.

Try road trippers dot com. I think they have an app too. It should fit what you want. I have a friend that uses it to plan all their national parks trips and you can decide how much (hotels, restaurants, ect.) that you want to show up. I think you can also get suggested routes on the site as well. Play with it a bit and see if it fits what's you're looking for.

I need a new packing app because the one I did stopped and I couldn't get it on my new phone. I looked this one up and couldn't find any with that name. Is it on android? Or does anyone have a suggestion? The one I had was simple and let me add stuff from a list along with add my own items. I could name the list like wdw and then edit for future trips or delete once it was done. I've looked and downloaded a ton but they either seem overly complicated or don't let you edit the list. I've gone back to paper.
Sorry, it’s on iOS
I had a dumb moment... I've been waiting to apply for my wife's CIP2 because I wanted to make sure Aug 30th was within our MSR window. Somehow though when the calendar turned to June, I could not figure out that 3 months from now is September.... Wow, I'm struggling this week, haha!!
I hate when that happens. Sometimes my brain is just so tired, I need to count on my fingers for simple stuff 🙄
How long does it take to receive a sw card? Impatiently waiting, why they can’t expedite a card especially when flight schedules just released. You’d think they want you to use their cards. Meanwhile the flights I booked have gone up $36 $52 each. I won’t be canceling those. Thinking the next release they might go down.
The usual excuse for co-branded cards is that they need time to verify your hotel or airline account (and then, sometimes, print it on the card). They can’t just pull the next one out of the box and send it to you.

I'm just curious. Why did you need to lower your credit limits?

With Chase it gives you a better chance at approval, and under 50% increases the chances at an instant approval. Credit issuers will only extend so much credit so when you get close to their limit they'd just deny you a new card.

I was sitting at just about 50% after my CIP approval so I slashed some to make me a more attractive application hoping for instant approval. Seemed to work, I gave up 12k in credit to get back about double and now sitting closer to 60% CL > HHI, which is around where Chase likes to keep me. IDK why, I don't spend any more when they do it, just makes my utilization look better on my credit score. Thanks Chase

So I kind of turned my mom into a mini churner. She had a lot of vet bills a few months ago, so I got her to sign up for a couple cards. She has CSP and CF now (plus a really old Discover) and is asking about opening another card. She has absolutely no travel plans & low expenses. No mortgage, eats out occasionally and pays utilities etc. Cash back or cashable points are best.

Suggestions for cards? I got a mailer for Wells Fargo Propel which has 30k points ($300) with no AF and 3x points for restaurants, gas stations, streaming services, which looks interesting

DP on AA business card miles posting.

I got my first one on 3/31 for 50k on $3k spend. After receiving the card about a week or so later, I called and asked to be matched to public offer of 60k on $4k spend. The additional 10,000 miles for the match posted before I met the MSR. I met the MSR during the statement closing period ending date of 6/5. The other 50,000 miles showed up in my AA account today even though it says they were deposited 6/5. They weren't there yesterday. I'll be going for a second one in July. DH should be ready for a second one

I'm about to apply for CIP #2 for P2. Do I lower her CL other CIP #1 and CIC before I apply?
as long as hhi is below 50% I'd think you are ok. I didn't lower any of mine bc I didn't want to wait the week or so and didn't think to lower them in advance.
ETA I had 9k on #2 and 5.5k on CIC before I went for #3. I was just under 50% and got an approval by the next day.

Noticed DH has a promotion under his SW account, the actual airline account under the promotions tab, but it is not loading what it is and is just blank... but I could click through and register :confused3

Can't remember if anyone came back with an update for this but they Promotion details are showing now. I was surprised when I got it because SW never picked me for any promotion before. So I registered for anything just in case it disappeared (I could have been giving up a kidney for all I knew, just excited to actually have one!)
Earn 25% bonus points

Register to earn up to 10,000 bonus points this year.
When you have at least 10,000 points post to you Rapid Rewards® account between 7/1/19 and 10/31/19 under the category of “Credit Card,” you’ll be eligible for a 25% bonus (up to 10,000 bonus points).*

For example, if you have 2,500 points from your Rapid Rewards® Credit Card post to your account each month during July, August, September, and October, you’ll earn 2,500 bonus points from Southwest.

Those 2,500 bonus points will count toward Companion Pass, too!

*To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must register between 6/7/2019 and 10/31/2019 11:59 p.m. ET and have a minimum of 10,000 points earned from Rapid Rewards Credit Card post to your Rapid Rewards account during the promotion period of 7/1/2019 and 10/31/2019.

Has anyone received theirs from earlier this year? Usual restriction that the sign up bonus isn't eligible but curious to see if it still counts as it did in the past. That's the only way I'm hitting 10k points in the promo period.
