Unfortunately the car has to match your hotel stay. I called and asked. I needed the car longer than my hotel stay so I'm just not picking up the car.
I wonder if you could pick it up and then call the rental agency directly during your trip to extend the rental?

Has anyone booked Marriott for next year. I’m looking at June 2020 so I’m a bit early but looking at April and May, I’m getting no points ressies available in April or May at the Fairfield Anaheim. Are they blocking awards or just delaying release?

Can you post your dates and resort so I can take a look at that?
oh boy, let me take a look and see if I can duplicate it. I don't have exact dates or even numbers of nights, so I don't know what all I searched. Plus I was looking at both Orland and Charleston.

ok, here is an example @SouthFayetteFan

date 7/30-8/3
hotel only swan 66,900
hotel/car swan 66,800 9 (car pickup 11pm drop off 1am)

That still shows aavacations cheaper, but you can see the gap has closed. I swear some combos I looked at had useaamiles cheaper though....but it was similar to this example, not a huge difference. I'm logged in on both sites for the lower price.

ETA: I suppose in this example I'd actually need the car since no DME, so I guess the aa vacations price would be higher once I changed to real pickup times. I bet that is where/why I saw useaamiles cheaper.

Oh boy - here come the r/churning purists downvoting my 1 simple comment alerting them to the Southwest Business thread...

I just don't get people sometimes. Why must we battle each other when the real "enemy" is the bank, lol!

Upvoted you to help offset. Looks like others did too. You’re in the black!

Guys!!! A huge breakthrough. A reddit “argument” actually turned constructive with an apology and some helpful ideas!! Haha!

I have no SW cards and never will. None the less, I logged on Reddit, which I never use except for the Dischurner info pages and gave you an ^ :flower3:

Oh the Swan and Dolphin is absolutely cheaper on UseAAMiles and always should be. I’m actually surprised you found an example where Swan/Dolphin is more. The only place where AAvacations typically comes into play is ON PROPERTY Disney resorts :)
I did run into this for Coronado Springs yesterday, for one night, 6/29...

Just doublechecked, useaamiles is 26300 and aavacations is 27200. I figured that had something to do with it being only a one night stay...

My son started with a Citi student card. My dd a Cap One. His offer came in the mail (8 years ago) her (5 years ago) I went in one of the credit sites and found a list of best student cards and picked that one. After a year or two they upgraded her to the Quicksilver. My sons was upgraded at some point too.
Thanks I will check those out.

Ooohhhhh! I totally missed that point. Hmmnn, wonder why...

Thanks! The thing that frustrates me is to be accused of doing this on a self-serving manner. People over there get angry at people for actually helping the community! That’s just crazy - everybody who takes time to post helpful comments and put effort in should be thanked! I think creating an opportunity for people to potentially give a fellow redditor 10k SW pts is a nice gesture. The only reason I can come up with for that tone is jealousy.

Besides jealousy, I imagine it can also be just what is considered an appropriate response due to the "culture norms" of the community. Could you imagine anyone reacting here how we see other churners react on FT or the comments section of most popular travel hacking blogs? I think THIS community here would be horrified to see someone be anything other than helpful, non judgy and nice. Our community "culture norms" simply wouldn't tolerate that. I could see claws coming out here in response to someone being mean and judgy but never for being helpful.

Swan 6/20-6/23, useaamiles 53.1k, aavacations 52.7k
Swan 6/22-6/23, useaamiles 16.8k, aavacations 19.3k

I totally booked that first room through useaamiles, oops. At least it's only 400 points! I'm still thinking the length must play into the discount.

I decided to go for it and apply for the Chase SW Premier today. I thought about waiting and using the self referral since my SW Biz was less than 30 days ago. But, with lots of helpful advice found here and research on my part - I figured I would try. I was instantly approved with a huge credit line - way more than I need. I am excited to get the CP because we are hoping to go to California and or Hawaii next year - plus a couple of Orlando trips as well. My new Biz also has a large CL. So, I will call to reduce those well in advance to applying for a CIP - but I am going to wait at least 3 months before I try for that. My husband is going to apply for the CIP next week - so I should be able to use one of his referrals after that and get our CIP party going!

Me: Wants to use points and miles to mitigate the out of pocket cost of travel.

Also me: Books 11th Adventures by Disney trip to Japan with the fleeting thought *this should earn lots of point and miles for mitigating out of pocket costs on future travel*
And so goes the vicious cycle. Makes perfect sense to me!

Thanks. I don't need the car at all. Just seeing if I could reduce the price by shortening the car length.

Just learned something else booking with AA miles. If you need two rooms, it would be slightly less to book them together on the aavacations site.

Examples: 2 rooms at Dolphin for one night, aavacations 35.8k vs useaamiles 36.2k; 2 rooms at Coronado Springs for one night, aavacations 50.2k vs useaamiles 52.6k;

Makes sense since you are only 'renting' one car
