So I think if I follow this process outlined:
1. Search Qantas for partner availability for the nonstop American flight. If I can’t locate, look at BA
2. Call Cathay with the flight info to book the American flight
3. Transfer MRs and complete the booking

https://thepointsguy.com/guide/searching-oneworld-availability/

Oh, are you trying to book AA with CX miles? Most people try to book CX with AA miles. An MR transfer to CX can take about 48 hours. In addition, it will be very unlikely that AA will release availability on a direct flight to CX. If you see that they have direct saver awards on AA then those will likely be available as partner awards too. Most saver awards on AA tend to have connections. You can search BA or Quantas or Alaska to see what AA released. But you should also just be able to see it on AA's website to get an idea.

Don't know if you got an actual reply, but the Crown and Fin pub always has sports playing. They'd be limited to what their satellite gets but most likely they'd get a Championship game. I recall many soccer games during the day. It would get tricky if it's a night game because after a certain hour it becomes Adults Only, but I think that's fairly late (I totally forget what the navigators say the cutoff is). You might possibly get it in the stateroom, I thought we saw some sports when flipping around.

I won't even get into the snark, hope they remembered the eye drops so they don't have to blink... oops, guess I did a little.
The game is live in Madrid at 8 pm, so if I calculated right, it would be 10 am Alaska time. I’m hoping Crown & Fin has it. It’s our Ketchikan day which docks at 1115 am so we wouldn’t even miss anything really. We have a floatplane tour in the afternoon.

Contemplating going onto the cruise threads to post that my favorite part of doing 3 day Bahamas and CC port cruises on the Dream with just DH and I are staying on the ship and sleeping until noon or later, catching a movie, going back to the room for another nap and waking up to eat at Palo or Remy just to :stir: There's just no sleep like DCL sleep :cloud9: This year's cruise will be different since we managed to rope in 7 of our Disney Cruise friends to come with. We've got a cabana and will actually get off of the the ship and go to CC. We will likely just be playing rounds of Cards Against Humanity and Disney Against Humanity in the cabana, so there's that. Personally, I think it is silly for others to criticize how someone spends their vacation. If you don't like what they are doing then don't do it on your vacation. You do you.
See this is what I love here.:rotfl2:

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure how this will work. I'm tracking everything you say, except I wonder why you keep avoiding the Mr Cooper payment. Prolly because I haven't nailed down whether it will work and if there is a fee? Once (IF) I get the CIP in hand, I think I should give the Mr Cooper auto-phone payment a try, unless y'all know something I don't.

As soon as I get some DPs to show my wife, I will get her involved as a P2.

Interestingly, I got the following offer from Navy Federal (I think it's pretty good for Navy Fed, but not as good as other non-Chase offers):
SUB 40k pts, after
MSR of $4k in 90 days.
3x supermarkets and gas stations,
2x restaurants,
1x rest
No AF
You’re absolutely right - I’m avoiding your mortgage because I don’t know the fee lol. I like to deal in “knowns” lol! You could easily knock out an AA biz MSR with Plastiq and your mortgage pmt. That I do know haha.

I don’t think I could afford the data to stream the game on cruise. Lol.

I think we had WiFi at the Yatchsman lol. I can’t believe people on here had the nerve to say something about your DS wanting to watch a game. Now, I wonder if we were getting judged at the restaurant. Probably was a little tasteless honestly but it was the FINALS lol

Can’t help with Uber as I’ve never done it. Costa Rica is nice and there’s lots to see and do. I used to do mission trips there and still talk with the family where we stayed. I even flew one of them up to MD for my wedding. I want to take my family to CR but haven’t figured out when we could go. How did your kids like it?

No kids on this trip. I made sure they would be okay with me being gone on Mother's Day. I hope to bring them back though.

The people on the cruise board are very judgy. About everything. Pop over for a minute and you’ll catch some.
Honestly I don’t care if you’re watching something on your phone unless it’s too loud. I mean, I’m not sitting at your table, I don’t care. Around here we tend to go to places that have TVs with sports playing or we sit in the bar if they play sports. I’m not super into sports (I only follow a few) but if it keeps DSs interest and he doesn’t whine through dinner, I’m good with it. And this IS a big deal to him, it may be the only time his team ever makes it to the Championship game. Everyone is shocked they are in.

Hey so what do you think of the Delta AMEX with 50 K bonus miles (3K MSR) and $300 delta credit>?????? Its 195 per year.
The last card I got was over 1 year ago - Amazon.
Use the CSP and CSR for Saphire points. that I mainly use through the portal for plane tix or hotel.

Just bought a new house so I got 75 K bonus CSP. Will use for plane tix for august trip (and have a nov trip). There are 5 of us that I have to buy for. Used to mainly travel United (DH has the United card but has had it for so long that it was Continental when he first got it). But lately we started using Delta again and are happier with their service and prices. Disadvantage is cant transfer the CSP to delta- just need to use to buy through portal.
Always pay off my balances. Will be needing to buy furniture (moving from a NYC 2 bedroom to an actual house in CT) and other home stuff....
So would you think this would be worth it to get?
Also, next year Disney cruise. My parents have Air france points for half of our plane tix. Delta is a partner...

As the Champions League is not being televised on the regular sports channels....the real question is ...Does the Disney Wonder have TNT?

Getting Disney Giftcards at Best Buy with Swagbucks is dead? I need $3,000 in Disney Giftcards by Sep anyone have any suggestions?

2 jump to mind - #1 is small potatoes . . .

#1 - Amex offer for Happy cards. Get Happy Lady and convert to Disney at BB&B + 2% Ebates in store cash back. Total 17% off.

#2 - Amex offer for Lowe's 10% back. Buy Kroger gift cards at Lowes. Then during Kroger 4x fuel points (if you do the fuel points thing), use the Kroger gc to purchase Disney gc. If you max out fuel points at Kroger, total discount = 24%.

I assume you are talking about the Delta Platinum ($195 fee but with companion certificate). I would not get it now. Sometimes exceptions pop up but Amex has a one card in a lifetime rule so you want to get the card when the offer is at its highest. 50k is pretty low. I think the last offer was like 80k miles. Historically it seems Delta increases the offers in June. IF you can hold on a couple weeks I would wait and see...I think that 50k offer will be going up.

You mention United. Did you realize you can transfer your UR points to United? (Maybe you do...just checking).

Thanks!! Yes i thought that I have seen higher bonuses! Thanks... And did not know about the amex rule (have really not paid attention to amex ). So i would not be able to do a regular Amex plat in future for bonus? (but DH can??)
Yes I do the United transfer... Delta is not an option so now that we may use Delta more often looking for a new way to get miles... Thanks for checking though!

Ah, is it one of those exclusives that doesn't share during playoffs? Hate when they do that. I don't follow soccer, at all, well other than I know we have a team, but no clue what league it's in or where to watch it. :p
Being a replica of an English pub there was at least one match playing every time we were in there and usually multiple, but don't know where they were getting the feeds from. I assumed it was some kind of sports package that might get big games. We watched an NFL playoff game last January. And I recall on other cruises the staff saying some games would depend on if you could get the satellite signal to come in or not. Lots of variables unfortunately.

And this is European soccer erm football, not even American soccer. Tottenham vs Liverpool. Which is unusual as it’s the first all English final since 2008. First ever for Tottenham. Now that I’ve bored you to death.
Ok thought so with the UE in the league name but like I said didn't really pay attention to who was actually playing much to know what leagues or even the teams that were on broadcast. But with it being English teams and an English pub they might try to get it.

@wendow how are your MIL and FIL doing?
I wanted to quote you, bernina, since you specifically asked but I didn't have a lot to update. We spoke to my MIL and FIL today. A new doctor came in yesterday or today and gave them a lot of hope that my MIL will walk again. He went into great detail as to what actually happened to her spine and that he expects her to have a lot more improvement in 3-4 mos. That's super encouraging!

Unfortunately, her therapy has slowed because it appears she has torn some ligaments in her shoulders with all this trying to move herself :( She's having an MRI soon to assess the damage to her shoulders. She was not strong physically going into this so I can just imagine the stress on her body.

My FIL took her out of the facility by himself yesterday and they went to several retirement (55+) communities to look at houses. I think the sale of their home will not be enough to cover these types of places completely so they will have to take on a small mortgage. Not a good prospect when you are almost 70yo. They've talked of moving to FL for several years now and I honestly wish they would. I think with the large retirees there, they'd find better, and cheaper, housing options. My MIL is really attached to several of her doctors though and I think that is partially holding her back from wanting to make the change.

Just to clarify - that rule is a "once per lifetime" on each of AMEX's card products. Earning a bonus on a Delta Platinum card would NOT prevent you from earning a bonus on any other AMEX card in the future (i.e. the regular plat). HOWEVER, the fact that you can only ever earn 1 bonus on a Delta Plat card means that when you go for that card, you probably want to pursue it when it is at a higher offer.

I’m glad she has some hope, that’s great news. Maybe they should sell and find a rental until her prognosis is more firm. Rushing into buying something new while in such a stressful situation might be something they regret later.

Agree, and we've tried to say that, but my FIL seems completely fixated on buying right away. I think it's cause, at their age, the idea of a double move is overwhelming. Even though they have talked so much about moving to FL, the reality is they probably never will. My MIL asked me today if we were still thinking of moving to FL. I had to give the honest answer, which is just that we don't know. I think if were definitely heading there soon, they may would change their plans.
