I think paying out depends on the state. My old job was headquartered just outside seattle but I worked at the CO location and CO requires them to pay out. I was told they had to update the manual because it said you didnt get paid out originally, after some people pointed it out to the owner/HR lady (who were in WA)
Could be but I also know they underpaid us and left us understaffed so who knows. They also wouldn't count the year and a half I'd been there as a temp because that was policy too, which I get but don't agree with. It's not how you should treat your employees.
Is your DH supposed to use up the 2019 time by September 30? If so, that September trip would be okay? If you have flexibility, maybe you want to postpone the October trip. Because it's a new supervisor. Perception is important.![]()
I don't agree with this. It's not his fault the supervisor is new and the supervisor shouldn't come in expecting the employees to have no vacation scheduled. I wouldn't reschedule because of it. The new sup could have vacation already scheduled for that matter. Just like when I take a job I say I have x planned and paid for. Unless you are going to pay me to change or cancel my trip then I'm taking it regardless of whether it's paid vacation or not. If they have a problem with it then I don't want to work there because it shows they won't be flexible, understanding and the employee will always come last.
