Meanwhile...elsewhere in DISchurner land...

And then there's @speedyfishy with like 10+ cards in a month... :faint:

We all have our own pace in this game LOL!! :tiptoe: vs. :car: and everything in between :)

Yeah I had to go au natural (all organic spending). I have a Chase account so it’s really hard to do the money order process.

It’s happened to me twice as a seller. The first time it took forever and then the money was in my account again. The second, PayPal themselves took a look at the tracking and the address (should automatically be in there if you bought postage through eBay) and put the money back very quickly. Of course, if someone did hijack her account and got it sent somewhere else that is not a PayPal verified address, then PayPal won’t automatically give you the money back and it becomes criminal. Insurance won’t kick in if it was delivered to the address on the package.
It sucks that scammers can figure out a way to win if they want to. For whomever asked why they waited so long- you have 90 days to file a case with PayPal.
They sure made sure to wait that full 90 days. I have double checked, the address in the transaction was a verified address.

This has never happened to me, I just got an email from Paypal that a dispute has been opened against me, and they have taken the funds back out of my balance. It was for a Dooney I sold on ebay and shipped on Feb 4th. Package was delivered, I can see the ebay listing where they won, and they say they did not authorize the purchase. WTH do I do now???

Ok, so this is something I actually know something about (we've had an eBay business for the past 15 years or so).

Does it read, "Unauthorized transaction" as the "title" of the dispute. Then when you click on it, in the description...does it say something like...The buyer has filed a case with their financial institution for a payment of "x amount" you received on "blank date". We've opened a case on "blank date" so that we can collect more info and resolve this with the buyer's financial institution

If so, it's basically a charge back from the CC Company (could be initiated by them or the CC). Unfortunately, it happens to sellers all of the time. I usually have 1-3 going at all times. In our case they never take/or hold the money back initially though. But I wonder if it's because we're a consistent seller. It seems like sometimes the emails say something about that.

Anyway, I just always respond with how they bought. When they bought and paid. When I shipped. When delivered and with tracking number (even though it's in paypal). I also upload a copy of the invoice (ebay sales record). As far as I can remember, these have always been decided in our favor. Here's an example of one of my replies:

This item was purchased via eBay on 3/8. We were in contact with the customer to get a shipping address as this was a freight shipment. Shipped 3/11 via Southeastern Freight. Pro# xxxx8383. It was delivered. See original invoice and delivery receipt attached.

Now maybe your dispute says "Unauthorized Access" - Respond like above and case should resolve like this (email from paypal to this type of claim):
Our investigation is complete and this payment has been completed. Because you followed the guidelines of the seller protection policy, though, you are not liable for this transaction. Although we have returned funds to the PayPal account holder, your account will not be debited. Thank you for your cooperation.
Inquiry by PayPal - Case ID: PP...

So don't freak out just respond to the case and wait (and it does take a while usually about a month). I know it's annoying...believe me I know :crazy2:

Now, if the reason for the dispute is something different let me know...but from what you described it sounds like one of those...good luck!

Thinking I can't but just in case...

DH and I both have the AA biz card, supposed to get free checked bag(s) with that, but we used UR points to book flights. Can we still get free checked bags somehow?

Sorry if this is a silly question, we hardly ever fly, so I'm clueless.

We have the jetblue cc and when using points, you still have to charge the tax. Just as long as you charge the tax when you use points, you get the free checked bags

I have 100 pages to catch up on, you prolific posters! I needed to thank each and every one of you first, though. I waded seriously into this board after i cancelled my August 2019 trip to celebrate my 50th birthday with the mouse. Couldn't afford it and the group March 2020 trip.

Further discounts came out and yesterday i rebooked a shorter trip at a value resort with base tickets and free dining. Thanks to the csp i got because of you, i should be able to fly free on both trips. That plus the first stay in a value makes it all possible.
:D
The child in me that will celebrate turning 50 inside the Animal Kingdom loves you all!:worship:

So excited for you! I also celebrated that milestone birthday with the mouse earlier this year. Have a great trip!!!

Yes it was insured. I haven't heard anything from ebay yet, but Paypal has all the info from me, and it's all also in the transaction that is being disputed, right on their site. She never said she didn't get it delivered, just that she didn't authorize the payment. I can see her dog buying it by mistake, (assuming her dog made the two different offers on it also) but her dog also logged into Paypal to make the payment? That's a lot of clicks for a dog LOL. But since mine have AA numbers, what do I know.

Sorry you are going through this mess, but this made me laugh so much with the dog and the AAmiles. :rotfl2:

Our IHG $49 AFs posted yesterday. Guess I'm calling to cancel those. End of an era. We've had them for 4 years now. Also DW's SW Biz $99 AF posted, I'll see if I can get a retention.

DH's AF posted yesterday too and the unrestricted free night is in his account. Mine was last month. We will use our unrestricted free nights at the Willard as a last resort but would like to try and find something different that would work for a long weekend getaway. We will definitely be keeping our card and not cancelling. I was able to find a few properties at 40K per night or less close to WDW and close to DLR.

Ouch. AF's for the Sapphire cards posted yesterday as they said. Eye opener when you check your balances after that CSR one.:earseek:
Don't know why but I planned for the $150 effective AF, and have that money ready to go, while also totally failing to connect that I need to front the other $300 while I work off the travel credit. :headache: Still worth it, just a bit of a shock when you see the numbers.

However I perked right up when I saw the Chase offers on my desktop! Don't know if they'll be there the next time I log in, but I'm loving it for today. I have 15% off Hyatt on my CSR which says I only have 8 days left but it absolutely never showed on my phone app before and I didn't think I saw it when I checked the email links. So I believe the reports that you may see different offers between all the access points.

At least these deals give me something to do while I don't have a MSR to work on. Granted I still have $1000 in MCGC from last week but with $5/day from Dosh on CIC, how can I not buy them? :tilt: Maybe I"ll have to try Serve.
I'm so mad I don't have Staples yet in Dosh!

Last day of the month the balance needs to be zero to avoid the fee.

I didn't realize you could avoid the fee. Edit: it was @platmama: I see fee posted at another time time. Is there a way to check when it will post?

This has never happened to me, I just got an email from Paypal that a dispute has been opened against me, and they have taken the funds back out of my balance. Oh boy, sorry you have to deal with this! That's pretty messed up if they are just trying to get a free bag! I actually just purchased a Disney Dooney crossbody on ebay today. I hope I don't have any issues.
Dude does his own online shopping and helps be swag :rotfl2: It wears him out.

I am curious, why Croatia? We've been to Slovenia and it was an absolutely beautiful country with Lake Bled, Ljubljana and fabulous wine! I would go back in a heartbeat so you peaked my interest.

Really I'd like to do many places on the Adriatic-Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro but I was rushing out the door and was trying to be quick, lol. I'd love the Lake Bled area but would also like to see some of the coast of the region as well. I have a friend who has been in Croatia for the past 10 days drinking wine and exploring the vineyards there. While I'm not a wine drinker, I'm sure she'll have some great recommendations for other activities since apparently ABD is not going to visit there anytime soon. :sad1:

I've been in a weird space, just quietly reading along. DH had an MRI today. It should be read tomorrow. Hopefully everything is okay. This is from his recent ER visit and a CT scan that showed a little something abnormal. I am taking a vacation day Friday. I'm pretty mentally fried right now.

Conversation Starter:

Is anyone else already actively working on 2021 vacation plans? I've already got my 2020 locked in with a Disney cruise and a trip to WDW for food and wine. I've got 2021 pretty narrowed down too.

I can't talk about this in real life - people would think I was insane planning trips that far in advance. But I can't be the only one, right?

Once I'm under 5/24, I'll be actively racking up URs again and I plan on using them for either Greece or Norway.

Thinking of you and your DH, hopefully the MRI results are reassuring.

I am not working (yet) on my 2021 vacation. This is a big year with DD beginning college in the fall; 2020 DH plans to FIRE so I'm not sure what my vacation budget will be. Normally I would have general nebulous ideas by now but there are too many variables right now, which I hate since I love to plan and have a plan. I have 2 or 3 big trips on my wish list I'd still like to do (Australia/NZ, Adriatic, and maybe Africa) then returning to favorite spots like Venice and Scotland. It's weird to think I'm approaching "done" with international travel but DH and I agree we don't want to travel too far when we're older than 60-ish so we're trying to get our Life List items checked off sooner than later. Then you'll see us flying to the Caribbean, hitting the beach here and cruising, I suspect.

That offer is brand new because it just showed up on my Hyatt card today! Also expires 5/10. Unfortunately I have no Hyatt stays planned until November.

I was surprised this place is "only" 35k - https://www.holidayinnresorts.com/hotels/us/en/orlando/disfs/hoteldetail

I was looking around for somewhere with a quick/cheap flight to use up our last nights and then after reading all about it realized we could go there with a restricted cert  Unless people have been and it's not a good as is looks? And there's a bunch of nicer properties that are still around 40k... just not in NYC.

So weird it has such a short expiration! 15% is not high enough to make me packup and rush out to a Hyatt for the weekend completely unplanned. I hear they're nice and all but not sure about all that

I opened my Serve online 2/14, my monthly fee posts on the 17th of the month. It was a surprise to me because I was expecting it to be the last day of the month too. So I got hit with the $6.95 fee because I wasn't expecting it on the 17th.
Thank you, I'll try and have a zero balance according to that timeline as well.
