@1st*toright and @GlamMistress, I'm so sorry to read about your husbands. I just want to say they're in my thoughts and I'm wishing them well, even if it's taken me a little time to post my well wishes. This thread moves so fast, as does life, and keeping it all in order is hard work, but I want you guys to know that I'm sharing in your concern. :grouphug:

Seconded. Hope we get good updates from you both soon!

Yes, all of that is in paypal, and even the dispute says they can see it was shipped and they are looking into it. I don't understand how they can claim they didn't authorize the purchase. Someone stole their user name and their paypal account and sent me funds, 3 months ago? And now they are concerned? They even made multiple offers on my bag before I accepted one.

It could be household identity theft...someone has access to say their Moms eBay and PayPal accounts knows the log in etc...buys something...and the person does not realize it for a few months...or it just could be someone trying to get a free bag
As long as you followed PayPal’s rules...shipped to the PayPal confirmed address and the tracking shows delivered you are fine....it is a pain though and I’m sorry you are going through this

Yes it was insured. I haven't heard anything from ebay yet, but Paypal has all the info from me, and it's all also in the transaction that is being disputed, right on their site. She never said she didn't get it delivered, just that she didn't authorize the payment. I can see her dog buying it by mistake, (assuming her dog made the two different offers on it also) but her dog also logged into Paypal to make the payment? That's a lot of clicks for a dog LOL. But since mine have AA numbers, what do I know.

PayPal should refund your account once they see the proof of delivery...then it’s between PayPal and the CC company

Have I ever told you all how much I love my job and everything makes total sense here? :rolleyes1

So my lovely, super useful manager who had no manager experience and no working factory experience for our department (only corporate experience in the department which is not the same) has decided that this is his moment to seize his dream: moving to Colombia with his family and opening a bilingual call center :confused3 Hey, whatever floats your boat dude. Anyways, our factory manager kind of let the cat out of the bag in a manager meeting so of course this news hits the grapevine. This meeting was back on 3/21.

Meanwhile, all through the grapevine, we narrow down his last day, who may be replacing him, yada yada. On 4/11, in the company wide newsletter, they announced who was taking his place. Then later in the day hung the notices up in the factory - still, this guy has not told us to our faces! Only our department supervisors!

Tomorrow is his last day. Earlier, he came in and told me it was nice to work with me, etc, he's not disgruntled it's just time for chapter two in his life, and how he's trying to get around to say goodbye to everyone today to make sure he doesn't miss anyone - he's not trying to sneak out on us! And the whole time all I could think was Dude, I signed a goodbye card for you 3 hours ago and this is THE FIRST TIME you have told me to my face that you are leaving! :faint:

Ha - work weirdness is the best. Maybe the replacement will be an improvement?

Sounds like a big hassle. Such a pain when people are scammy - DH has been on the buyer end of scammy transactions (where it looked like something was shipped, but it wasn't), which fortunately ebay was aware of, so it got resolved pretty easily. He had a scare with a buyer being kinda strange and saying something didn't get delivered, but within a day or so, the item was located and the buyer was fine with the transaction. So here's hoping that this gets resolved without too much more effort on your part!

Thanks - all the good vibes from the board seem to be working! He's still sore, but much better than he was (he's even back at work today). The kids are very happy to see him getting back to normal (although my little one yelled at him to stop climbing on the playground "DAD - YOU HAVE A CONCUSSION - BE CAREFUL" which meant that he had to explain the whole thing to the other parents...) Counting blessings for sure.

This has never happened to me, I just got an email from Paypal that a dispute has been opened against me, and they have taken the funds back out of my balance. It was for a Dooney I sold on ebay and shipped on Feb 4th. Package was delivered, I can see the ebay listing where they won, and they say they did not authorize the purchase. WTH do I do now???

It’s happened to me twice as a seller. The first time it took forever and then the money was in my account again. The second, PayPal themselves took a look at the tracking and the address (should automatically be in there if you bought postage through eBay) and put the money back very quickly. Of course, if someone did hijack her account and got it sent somewhere else that is not a PayPal verified address, then PayPal won’t automatically give you the money back and it becomes criminal. Insurance won’t kick in if it was delivered to the address on the package.
It sucks that scammers can figure out a way to win if they want to. For whomever asked why they waited so long- you have 90 days to file a case with PayPal.

I am glad to hear that he is feeling better. Concussions are so scary. And yes, your little one is right, he should be very careful; it can take months to fully recover, even if he's feeling better. Last thing you want to happen is another head injury while he's recovering from the existing one.

I've been in a weird space, just quietly reading along. DH had an MRI today. It should be read tomorrow. Hopefully everything is okay. This is from his recent ER visit and a CT scan that showed a little something abnormal. I am taking a vacation day Friday. I'm pretty mentally fried right now.

Conversation Starter:

Is anyone else already actively working on 2021 vacation plans? I've already got my 2020 locked in with a Disney cruise and a trip to WDW for food and wine. I've got 2021 pretty narrowed down too.

I can't talk about this in real life - people would think I was insane planning trips that far in advance. But I can't be the only one, right?

Once I'm under 5/24, I'll be actively racking up URs again and I plan on using them for either Greece or Norway.

People think I am crazy with planning. I have a list of places to go and it is mapped out through 2025! I am not actively working on 2021 yet. 2020 is definitely going to Glacier to do the trip I had planned last year that got postponed due to fires. Everything is basically planned, just need to book things when they open in July. I will have SW, AA and Delta to choose from on airfare though. Last time I booked airfare OOP (was reimbursed by CIP travel insurance). So with all my points I now have it will be a much cheaper trip than before.

You aren't insane, you are just extremely organized! It is a good trait to have (in my opinion!)

Put me in the camp of another "way in advance" travel planner, although I don't actually have anything booked yet for 2021. But I do have a short list of "possibles." We are going to Japan in 2020, and I actually put a deposit down for that trip in 2017 because Thomson Family Adventures guaranteed me 2017 pricing. That is going to end up saving me thousands for the small amount of interest I gave up on that deposit! (Plus, the booking came with free cancel for any reason insurance, so there was no real risk...)

ETA: Sending all good thoughts for your husband's test results!!

I have a fraud alert on my credit as well. For Chase, I don't get called anymore. I don't get auto approved but they do approve without any contact. Maybe if you are in their system, they will somehow verify it is you and approve without talking to them. Now AMEX and Citi call for each application.

Great to know. Thanks! Just checked the status line again, and I'm still at two weeks. Patience, grasshopper....
